I am buying a new computer without an operating system installed and you want to know if my Windows 7 Upgrade disk can be used to install Windows 7?

I'll buy a kit of barebones without preinstalled operating system and was wondering if I could use my Windows 7 upgrade disk to install Windows on the new PC.

Short answer 'NO '.

Upgrade means upgrade. An upgrade can only be used to upgrade a previous version of XP or Vista. You will need to purchase a full retail or OEM version to install on a computer without an operating system.
