  This solved the problem for me too, you can select the top of the file (in
  my case g:\ my documents-my pictures.)

  Properties-> Security-> advanced-> change permissions

  Check "include permissions inheritable" AND "replace all permissions of the child".

  Work done :)

  I think you are talking after upgrade to CC 2015 you're not able to launch I. Also, I believe you speak for read only matter of preference.

  After following the instructions please do not launch Illustrator and check your file preference if the permissions have been set correctly. A good way would be to get inside the preferences folder and then try to create a file manually. If it succeeds, please write to [email protected]

  File with the extension to ASHX file is an ASP.NET Web Manager.

  ASHX files are files used with the ASP.NET programming and can be opened with any program code in ASP.NET (like Microsoft Visual Web Developer). ASHX files are not intended to be read or opened by the browser. If you have downloaded a file ASHX and expecting that it contains information (such as a document or other recorded data), it is likely that something is wrong with the website and instead of generating usable information, she provided this file server instead.

  You can search on the Internet a program that can open this file.

  You must at least initialize fActionParamValueRef

  result = sAIActionManager-> AINewActionParamValue (& fActionParamValueRef);

  You should also check the return values of calls.

  It seems that you have inadvertently installed the trial version of Adobe Acrobat. You must uninstall that and install Adobe Reader (free).
