Windows 8 will not check for Updates, and will not install Chrome
Hello
I have worked with Windows 8 since May and I've always had minor problems. On the one hand, my wifi turns off on its own unpredictable way. Also, whenever I want to check the updates, I get a screen like below:
Just empty under the update section. In addition, anything, I can not install chrome. All these problems happened after that I am connected to a WiFi signal and it turned off my Wifi. I had to re - activate the wifi in the settings. Please help if you can thank you very much!

I just bought Streets & trips 20011. I uninstalled S & T 2007. When I try to install S & T 2011, I get an error message saying that microsoft visual c++ 2010 redistributable cannot be installed. Same thing if I try to install from the DVD or download. I 10.0.40219 c ++ 2010 is installed. I use win 7 pro and Office 2010 Pro installed. I've read elsewhere that S & T 2011 will not work with the latest patch for microsoft visual c++ 2010 redistributable. If that's true then I would like official confirmation in order to be able to return S & T and get my money back. Otherwise I won't be able to return, because I opened the package.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer
SOLVED!I called the 1-800-MICROSOFT to support. I have given a file number and transferred to technical support. The answer was so simple I wonder why MS isn't just after it. So here it is:
After trying and failing to install the downloaded version of Microsoft Streets and Trips 2011 trial (failed, because I have the latest version of microsoft visual c++ 2010 redistributable and the program trys to install an earlier version, but then just ends) there will be a subfolder and subfolders installation on your hard drive files.go to the "Microsoft Streets and Trips 2011\ST2011\Streets\MSMap\" folder and run the file called "data .msi.The program will install and everything is good. -
Original title: hard to upgrade to 8.1 - My App store Windows will not open, Windows updates Pc settings does not.
Everything on my laptop is saying that it is "not responding" - opening of the photos, for example. My apps are no longer compatible - for example my e-mail address is not updated. I think it's all related to not updated to 8.1 - having a knock on effect to all the other bits on the laptop.
The problem is won't let me upgrade. I understand that it is a slow process, but it won't let me even go up to the store to upgrade. What can I do?
Really sad about that I just bought my laptop 3 months ago a result already loads of problems with it. (ACER LAPTOP WINDOWS 8)
I had the same problem and finally came up with this fix. I hope it works for everyone who suffered from this annoying problem. Go to control panel, system, and security, the Action Center. In the center of the Action, open the settings Windows Smartscreen. Do not do anything (turn off Smartscreen Windows) check.

Firefox does not and will not install on my computer.
Here's the situation: I was using Firefox today and it worked very well. A window pops up saying that it has been updated Firefox or something like that. After that, Firefox is no longer saying "disorder, loading page." It is not my internet connection that Internet Explorer still works very well. I even tried to restart my computer that did not help. I also uninstalled Firefox and tried to re - install with once again, no luck. I really need some help with what I take an online class which works best with Firefox.
Was it a Firefox window, or possibly a fake pop-up created by a web page?

If you don't want to go in this direction, you should call dell and ask for a replacement recovery media.
And maybe ask a copy directly from the operating system without any OEM software or all the changed settings. (a copy of the DVD retail)See you soonToday, it was a good day, I didn't have to use my AK.

AAM will not work and will not install
Today, I decided to apply pending updates. Creating sales Cloud on OS X 10.8.2.
I ran Adobe Application Manager (AAM). I see (it is missing or damaged):
Fine. I click 'Get' and then get redirected. I have download ApplicationManager6.2_all.dmg. I ride. I navigate to the installer. I run it. I get this (what the Installer failed to initialize):
Fabulous. I have download Adobe Support Advisor. I run it. He thinks that everything is fine.
I rebooted and tried again. I usually google and searched this forum until blue in the face. I sat down with Adobe Live Support for 30 minutes, while I was given only to be disconnected. And here I sit.
Very functional, Adobe. Even better support, too.
Someone has an idea how to solve this problem, given that Adobe can't be bothered with it?
After spending nearly an hour with an Adobe support representative via live chat this morning and leads precisely nowhere, I gave-up, closed my browser on him, knocked down all the changes he had me had to do and decided to try on my own brute force methods. I should have done that to begin with, but since I'm still relatively new (~ 1 year) for the Mac, I'm still a bit shy.
In any case, I finally managed to solve my problem, and the particular difficulty who worked did so in about 60 seconds flat. Nevermind, I spent literally hours chasing my tail to access:
- Put yourself in the Finder/applications/utilities
- Rename the file "Adobe Application Manager" to something like "Adobe Application Manager OLD" (even if I think it might as well be deleted)
- Install the download for the AAM package and run the installation program
MAO then (not surprisingly) worked well. Delete the old folder now.
I continue to be completely impressed by the ability of Adobe to support its customers, but is by the course more, so I was not surprised. On the good side of things? Work of AAM and I can finally update my applications.
