I am shown as always online

I'm always online, even when I'm offline, what is the problem, can you help me?

You can try the "/ remotelogout" command cat.

/remotelogoutDisconnected all other cases except the current one. This will also stop push notifications on all other cases.

  • Lost all my network maps - network icon is X'ed out, but always online

Win7 x 64-little story to explain how I got here...
It was a vista machine I upgraded to win7. Everything worked after the upgrade with the exception of hamachi (version 1). I did a reinstall of this and fixed it, but I had 2 interfaces of hamachi network listed in the devices, including a Manager been appearing as broken (yellow exclamation mark). As everything worked I left it alone.
Fast forward to today - I tried to upgrade hamachi Hamachi 2. Seemed to work ok but I couldn't connect to any peers. Looking inside he says the hamachi adapter was defective and watching my network connections he had no hamachi adapter listed.
I opened the Device Manager and there was just a nic listed hamachi and it was broken. I chose to uninstall - checked the box to remove the driver and it uninstalled.
I then installed another instance of the hamachi network adapter manually. Hamachi still not connect to peer - same msg of error on the network card.
Only now, ALL of my network adapters are missing from the network connections folder. And the State network in the status bar icon displays a red X as if it is not connected, even if this PC is online (I'm connect to it through RDP).
I tried to restart - no effect. So any ideas where all my connections/network cards and how to get this all sorted?
One more piece of info - if I right click on the network icon in the status bar and select troubleshoot, to have another problem, specific adapter - on this screen, it lists then 3 network cards. Tried to diagnose all of them but no effect.
And if I open the network connections folder and go to help, advanced options, I get an "unexpected error".

  • How to go from "Work online" to "work offline".

There is nothing visible to tell me if I am on or offline.

If you have an internet connection, most do everything, you are always online, unless you specifically use the Offline command in Internet Explorer or Windows Live Mail.

The answer is simple.  You are online.

If your Internet service provider do not work or if the wireless, you don't have a connection, you can tell by simply starting your browser and will tell you soon.

  • How can I turn off the "always off-line" property on a specific folder or share?

Hi, I use Windows 8 on two machines with a home group. On the smaller machine, I use Sync Center to keep an offline copy of some of the files that are stored on the big machine. I can then work on those out-of-home and sync when I come back. I do not use the cloud, just the home network.

I can choose any folder and ask to be "always available offline". It works very well. But I can't turn this setting off. The cache on the smaller machine becomes too full so I want to selectively remove some of the files of it.

I tried the following none of which:

    (1) in the file Explorer, right-click on the file and look at the context menu. There is no other choice "make always available online.
    (2) even again and look at the properties. There is a checkbox indicating "always available offline" and it is not gray - but it won't let me click on it. So I can't remove the tick from the box
    (3) in the file Explorer, select the file, and in the tab "Home" watching 'Easy Access'. The "always online" option is grayed out.

No experience with this problem? It doesn't seem to appear in google searches

    Hi and thanks
the problem seems to have "solved itself" and I will describe below the steps that I actually took.
But first, just to clarify, this isn't (I think) a problem of skydrive, unless the policies and procedures of caching are the same regarding networked files (which I'd be interested to hear about). I'm not using skydrive. I'm just a home group in which wholesale laptop has two 500 GB drives and small laptop has a 250 GB drive. Great hosts of all mobile files for the House and a small laptop computer via a homegroup. Both machines are running Windows 8. I have improved in December to 8.1 and then is a complete Windows 8 resettlement, so that they are both pretty clean.

"Access all offline files" is turned off on both machines, and all actions are defined to allow network users to decide which files they want to store online (I think this is the default)

Just to complete the picture, it is the only user on each machine, which has administrative privileges on this computer.

When away from home, small laptop can continue to use the shared files because while that connected small laptop, I mark it as "always available offline". Then when I come home, I just sync (with the network, not with SkyDrive shares). However, I have to do this selectively, because there is not enough room for all of them. So I just keep offline files copies I'll work on all away, about 34Gb.

This solution is fine for me, I don't really have a use for Sky Drive yet.

The problem is that while I can turn on "keep a copy offline" selectively, I couldn't turn off selectively. If one day I put a huge folder by mistake to be readable while offline and then discovered that offline files had gobbled up space on the drive of the laptop little almost all the. But I couldn't pass this backrest to remove from the cache offline files. The relevant menu options were all grayed out.

In the world stopping or disabling 'offline files' did not help, because as soon as I have reactivated the, small laptop "remember" what she should be cached. I guess I could have reduced the cache space something much smaller, but then what I would do is remove the functionality that I needed because Sync would fall on complain there is not enough room.

When I searched on the web, I found that it was possible in Windows 7 to reset the cache, by adding an extra key in the registry (see, for example, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/230738/en-us).

But this doesn't seem to work in Windows 8 (see http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-winapps/how-to-re-initialize-the-offline-files-cache-and/9e785cc9-d8ad-42fc-b772-36ac01db18e4). So I wanted to know how to do the same trick in Windows 8

What has worked (don't know too why) are the following steps:

    (1) the big laptop, move all the files that are used to be in the huge file in a temporary store
    (2) on big laptop, use the tab share offline on the properties of the file once - huge, to deny the user the right to keep a cache online.
    (3) make the shareable temporary store
    (3) close big laptop and restart
    (4) close the small laptop and restart
    (5) sync small computer laptop once again, making sure not to request a copy of the temporary Bank offline

Grayed links seemed to 'wake up' and I was able to delete all cache offline except the files I wanted. But I have no idea why.

Hope this helps someone, and I think it would be useful to publish, somewhere, a "how-to" article telling how to reset the offline files cache.

Chiffchaff-faced apologies if the skydrive also corrects work for offline networking files.

  • DB always upward after losing a data file

    DB version: 10 gr 2
    OPERATING SYSTEM: AIX 6.0

To test a scenario of recovery, I backed up the entire database and deleted the users01.dbf data file. I thought that the PB will crash. There can be no.
    select file_name, tablespace_name from dba_data_files where tablespace_name='USERS';
which showed that exitsts file! I tried a few insertions, updates and REMOVE with commit. They all work! You can even create table instructions worked.

    Then from
But deleted data file accessible data
    and
    Removed datafile always online?
I got to know that he is the expected behavior in UNIX environments.

    My questions:

    Question1.
After a fall users01.dbf file, I had done several LMD with COMMITs and CFDS. where the process of Dbwriter wrote these changes when there was a control point?

    Question 2.
Database became aware of the missing data file only when I put the datfile offline and then tried to put online.
    SQL> alter database datafile 'u07/data/oraqa215/users01.dbf' offline;

    Database altered.

    SQL> alter database datafile 'u07/data/oraqa215/users01.dbf' online;
    alter database datafile 'u07/data/oraqa215/users01.dbf' online
    *
    ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01157: cannot identify/lock data file 4 - see DBWR trace file
    ORA-01110: data file 4:'u07/data/oraqa215/users01.dbf'
Why is the DB still even after DB learned that users01.dbf was absent?

Some important points in my opinion:

Terminology: Apparently, you do not "drop" the file with a SQL command. Instead, you removed it with an OS command, which is a major difference. Select on v$ datafile and DBA_DATA_FILES will always show the file still being included in the database -has nothing to do with handles still open etc but is normal behavior.

Availability: The instance not crushed after your deletion - what is very good and no reason to complain. Your users will appreciate that, especially those who do not need the tablespace, associated with this file. If DML is going through, it will record the vectors of change in online newspapers, used later in the recovery process to find all the transactions are committed. In other words: you will lose any committed transactions ins spite of your deletion of the file. Again, it is very good and no reason to complain.

    Kind regards
    Uwe

  • Find my iPhone, offline

    Hi guys,.

I got my iPhone 6 stolen about 48 hours ago... I could only connect to the internet about 12 hours after it happened. The device does not always online on "Find my iPhone" so I was wondering can a thieves somehow wipe out all my info and my iPhone found? I want to say what use is if it is always off, no? they could have found a way to make it appear offline?

What are your thoughts, the person is restored and using apple product find my iPhone?

Bravo guys. I'll liked any kind of help.

Find my iPhone requires some form of data connection to the internet to send the details to the Apple servers. There is nothing you can do edit that and unfortunately, if the device is turned off or has the wifi and cellular data off, it won't communicate with Apple.

iCloud find my iPhone feature locks a device for the Apple ID, so thieves can reuse. If someone tries to erase or use iTunes to reinstall iOS it be asked your password Apple ID but they could erase your data in the process of installing iOS. Of course if the iPhone had a password that can stop reading your data, but they can't stop to find my iPhone without your password to iCloud.

Apple are doing their best to make it possible to find devices or make it unusable when fly, however the thieves try always to reuse or sell.

Good luck finding your device, it may be that someone she feeds finally on & it appears.
