I am trying to configure my laptop so I can watch a show on my TV with an HDMI cable. It doesn, t work
I have a Pavilion dv7 laptop. Windows 7 64-bit. I am watching a video from my laptop to my tv using a HDMI cable and can't seem to get that issue. Is there a key to seting it upward?
Hello
1. first thing I would check: the cable itself, which is its HDMI version, you may need 1.3 or higher? What is your TV (brand, model)?
2 with the right cable, try the following steps
(a) turn off the television and laptop
ends (b) connecting cable
(c) turn on the TV menu TV allows to accept PC signals (laptop)
(d) turn on the laptop, go to display you should see TWO screens (1 and 2), select TV
Kind regards

I was able to connect a day ago.
Try these:
1. right click on the desktop-> output to-> Dual Display Clone.
2. press on the on your laptop keyboard shortcut that turns on an additional display. The function (FN) FN + F5 keyboard shortcut is used for this purpose on many laptops. On others, it is F4 (HP) or F8 (Dell), usually the F key the monitor on that image.3. open Windows Mobility Center by clicking the Start button, click on the Panel, clicking Mobile PC, and then click Mobility Center Windows. And then, on the external display tile, click display of connection, even though it says its connected.
4. in customizing display settings, try to change the resolution to a setting down like 1024 x 768 and see one that works.

The TV that is connected to the laptop hdmi cable. The problem is that the TV is discolored
The laptop that I use windows 8.1 and when I installed the HDMI cable to the tv, everything is fine except for the discoloration on the TV. The colors of the TV is usually not what it looks like on the phone, more than a pinkish-green color. I have reset the laptop and I checked if the TV is on the correct setting. I also tried google + yahoo answers, but so far, I have got nothing. I really appreciate you help. Thanks in advance
Puneet salvation,
What is the brand and model of the computer and the TV?
This problem can occur if the drivers for graphics cards are not updated or the TV requires upgrades of the firmware.
I suggest you try to launch the Windows updates and install all the updates, including optional driver and firmware updates.
Windows Update: frequently asked Questions
You can also visit the computer manufacturer and try to install the latest version of the chipset and graphics card drivers and check for the issue.
Also, check with the manufacturer of TV for updates to the firmware required for Windows 8.1. If available, then install the same and check for the issue.
We can also refer to the articles and check for the issue.

My sony vaio laptop running windows vista has completed an automatic update and after that, I can't connect to my wireless network, I can access the internet with an ethernet cable.
It worked perfectly fine before the update, I know that there is a problem with what I had the same problem in the past. The way it's been solved previously was to restore the laptop to an earlier point before the end of the update. Unfortunately I can't do that and the laptop has been completed, wiped and there is no backup where I can go to restore.
I know I can remove some updates but don't know what 1, me it is another way to solve the problem.
Your help would be much appreciated.
Thank you
Hi Nadzarif,
You can try the following steps and check if it helps:
Method 1:
Because the wireless stopped working after windows update, you can check the Sony support link and try to install the latest version of the drivers for the wireless card and check if it helps:
For more information, see the article:
Update drivers: recommended links
Method 2:
Updated version has a problem in the history of the update.
Step 1:
You can check in the history of the update for the updates that are installed recently or before the show.
a. open Windows Update by clicking the Start button. In the search box, type Update, and then in the list of results, click Windows Update.
(b) in the left pane, click view update history.
c. to display more information about an update, double-click it.
See the Windows updates are installed
Step 2:
Uninstall recently installed updates and install the updates one at a time to understand what update is the cause of the problem.
For more information, see the articles:
