I am trying to install a Lifecam HD-3000 on my computer running Windows XP - Pro

I am trying to install a Lifecam HD-3000 on my computer running Windows XP - Pro. I am getting passed for pillar to post saying updated software is available, which, when I download it, informs me that I already have a new update on my computer. Anyone knows how I can get the mended thing to work?
The error I get sent it to me to HTTP://support.microsoft.com/kb953691 which is apparently nonexistent. Since the MSN page, I see that many others have the same problem. Is there a solution?

Follow these steps and check if the problem persists.
