  I need a a more accurate 19.2 MHz clock of a PXI-6653. Supposedly, it is possible to replace the background clock of basket with a clock of the PXI-6653 OCXO PXI-1033. It is not clear to me how to do this. NEITHER literature suggests I may have need of a few SW. Thank you!

Someone suggetsed online (with a useful picture) to adjust the background rider of basket of 1033 'up' position... that opens the way for PXI_CLK10 - replacement of background clock of basket with the OCXO clock... Now I get what I was looking for, a (frequency) very accurate 19.2 MHz DDS clock.

• The precision of a PXI-6602 improve with a PXI-6608 2 driving 10 MHz slot PXI backplane?

  Improve the accuracy of a PXI-6602 module in slot 3 of my PXI chassis if I use the clock of a PXI-6608 OCXO in slot 2 to drive the background clock of 10 MHz of my PXI chassis basket?  If so, how is it improved?  660 x operating instructions shows the bottom basket of 10 MHz clock led the Phase Lock Loop of the 6602, but I don't know how that affects the overall accuracy.

  This will help you.  I think you need to set the reference of your meter to use the PXI 10 MHz clock and the clock of the 6608 of export to the PXI 10 MHz clock.  I managed to get orders of magnitude better measurement of the frequency by doing this (on a signal of very narrow limits).

  Don't know if it's something I've done or what, but all of a sudden the desktop on my laptop Dell icons are little greyed out - they are still useable but difficult to read.

  At the same time, the clock in the taskbar is the same way - white letters on a gray background - very difficult to read.

  Can anyone help?  I'm not very savvy computer so need to very simple instructions.

  I downloaded iStat, a few hours ago and was surprised to see the GPU clocked at 128°C, especially compared to the other time reasonably cool.

  I downloaded the demo of TGpro and I get the same result of temp.

  I restarted the apps, the mac, started from a post HD with snow leopard to make sure this isn't a problem with the OS, but I get the same result.

  I'm on a macbook pro 2010 mid / i5 2.4 ghz / 4 GB ram / el capitan.

  I can't believe that the GPU could get warm without the mac to stop, or at least strange behavior. I hope that it is a faulty sensor, but reading has fluctuated at around 100-110°C after that I put the mac to sleep for ten minutes and had the fans on full blast.

  I think taking the logic board tomorrow and reapply the thermal paste unless someone has noticed.

• Satellite U500 - clocked at 100%

  I am using a Satellite U500 running Windows 7. Recently its been suspended quite often and I found the problem to be the processor clocked at 100%. RAM is not even 50% used when this happens. I opened the Task Manager to find the offending process, and nothing seems to use simultaneously more than 20% of the CPU. A ran an antivirus and malwarebytes and there is nothing to find.

  Any suggestions on what this could be and how I could continue on resolving this? Thank you!

  To me that sounds like that run many background programs and therefore 100% CPU usage. So it s not a bug because many programs require a lot of CPU performance.

  So please check again the Task Manager. I mean if the CPU runs at 100% use a program in the task manager should cause this and in the Task Manager you can find all programs running in the background.

  Also it s recommended using a registry cleaner like CCleaner or similar. It can remove old registry keys and other stuff of old, useless.

  Check this box!

• clock radio stopped working on the new year

  I have a little old ipod touch (2nd generation, I think it's that old) that is running OS 4.2.1 and cannot be upgraded to higher.  It has been great as a clock radio and music machine, but the morning of the new year has not extinguished the alarm.  Today is the third day now that it did not explode, so I started to make some tests and the alarm clock does not work (although, curiously, the timer is). I deleted all my old alarms, clock settings, checked the settings of date and time, restart, and reset the ipod, etc. - each troubleshooting method I found on discussion forums. Is there something I can do? Saw that this happened to people a few years back and Apple brought a correction at this time, but it's such an old BONE, I don't know that they do not work on it.

  If not, can anyone recommend a clock application that can be in the background while I have a sound application running in the foreground? I have a sound that I program love and do not want to give up, but it doesn't have an alarm that is integrated in this version.

• Increase in the rate of sampling with external clock

  Hi all

  I have hardware DAQ-SMU-6361 and SMU-8360 controller in an express chassis SMU-1071. My 6361 maximum sampling frequency is 2 MECH. / s. But I want to use my daq with higher sampling rates. After going through the various positions, I decided for two options to increase my sampling rate. You must connect a 5 MHz signal generator to use as an external clock. Another is to use the timer to synchronize PXI Chassis

  (1) what is the limit to the frequency that we can use as external clock for data acquisition? Which parameter is limiting the performance of the ADC, if we use the higher clock frequency signal?

  (2) I also learned about an option called 'base time in PXI Express chassis'. can I use this option? Someone please give me a link to a good tutorial on the basis of time in a single PXI Express chassis?

  HI Vaidhin,

  The article mentions the background basket clock as a possible means for synchronization, but this is accomplished using it as a phase reference clock - align the oscillators on board your hardware DAQ which are then distributed down to produce the sample clock.  You may not use background basket clock or time base on board directly as a sample clock (on the one hand, these signals is much too fast).

  Measuring 1 MHz with a DAQ hardware 2 MHz could not give you what you expect.  You will get 2 points per period of your entry - it's just at the limit to avoid aliasing of your signal and of course do not a good characterization of the shape of your signal.  You might be able to push the card in slightly beyond 2 MHz but not significantly enough to make a huge difference.  You are right that if you have sounds at higher frequencies could be an alias down in your signal.  Any noise above ~1.7 MHz will begin to be eased by a bandwidth limited the 6163 (there is a chart in the specifications , showing the bandwidth).  If you have between 1 MHz (signal) and ~1.7 MHz noise, you might look into an external filter, but again you are always sampling very slowly to be able to characterize the shape of the signal.

  The next steps to the top (in terms of sampling frequency) would be as follows:

  4 MHz: SMU-6124

  10 MHz: PXI-6115

  There are currently no products that use the same DAQmx driver who can enjoy beyond 10 MHz, but NEITHER there also a range of scanners that you may enjoy a lot faster.  If you are interested in sampling up to 100 MHz, you may consider looking in the SMU-5122- there are also faster scanners available, but these are probably not necessary for your application.
