  I already installed the drivers for everything except the fingerprint reader (do not want), tpm (really envy) and hdd (tos620a) motion sensor (not embarrassed at this time).   I tried the 32-bit xp package called 'pwrsav '; It installs a bad help link in my Start menu and adds a few exes, tpsmain and tpsoddctl, to my automatically starts. These 32-bit executables left immediately after execution.

  I tried to install packages of 64-bit Vista from Toshiba hotkeys / common modules / power management, but the only one of the three I can find via toshiba.co.uk is the common modules, and unfortunately this zip file contains only .inf, .cat and .sys files, no program installation.

  Motivation:
  I use a new installation at the same time because the default installation of Vista is unusable (900 MB of memory used on a fresh startup desktop, disk divided into several partitions, trial, adware and with broken software at left and right)
  I use x 64 because I am software engineer the next product needs to work on x 64, and this new laptop was a likely first candidate

  The European driver Toshiba page provides the drivers for XP 32 bit and Vista (32-bit & 64-bit).
  I did find all the drivers for XP 64-bit OS.

  As much as I know XP 64-bit drivers is not exist for one of the series of Toshiba laptops.

  Now a new better ;)

  I found a tool called display Tuner.
  It offers convenient access to the monitor settings, such as brightness, contrast, color settings.

  After clicking through the artists ever, I don't see many bands that I want to add.  It would be nice if there was an option to manually add specific bands.

  From now "For You" does not work as well as I do. I have some suggestions of genres that I completely removed on initial Setup, I have too many suggestions of artist for bands I don't like tracks I told them repeatedly and sometimes I will love an all the songs from the album of the band hoping to get suggestions, but it rarely works. To me "For You" is good about 75% of the time.   Things I do to work around it. Looking for a band. Results page will give "First results", "Albums", "Songs", "Playlists" you and a few other things. I click on the word playlists and see all the playlists associated with the group that I like. Many are several selections of the artist. You can add these playlists on your account by opening the playlist by clicking on the icon at the top right.

  You can also go to the artists page and find "Similar artists" on the side and do a search on them to find playlists.

  Well, as far as I know there is only one image of Toshiba for this model of laptop and it s only a VISTA 32 bit ULTIMATE.

  There is just one small problem; Win XP drivers are not released for the Portege R400 model. I didn t find on the European driver Toshiba page.

  AFAIK the protégé R400 when equipped with the 80 GB 1.8 IDE HDD (PATA, enhanced IDE ATA-6).
  The HARD drive had a height of 8mm.

  If you want to upgrade the R400 with a SSD then you should use an SSD that is supported by the IDE and SSD should be 1.8

  But I didn't find out about the Toshiba page on compatibility SSD so you'll have to test it on your own hand

Can you please tell me what restoration (recovery) CD you have? Are two of them for an operating system, or you have one for Vista and one for Windows XP Home edition.

  I checked Toshiba's support page and it has a WLAN driver version 11.5.0.32 / 9.0.4.37. Download and unzip the driver files and before you start installing check readme.txt file first.

  Moreover, for the installation of Windows XP Home edition please use the Instructions of facilities document and follow order listed facilities.

• I can't open the DVD for 12 items

  I can't install on a 64-bit Windows 7 computer.  Ran diagnostic on my DVD (Yes, it's the DVD), no problems found, Microsoft says disc is unreadable, and yet the disc opens on an old Vista machine.  Any way I can just download and save using my serial number?  I repeatedly being ejected and just will not be read.  It is a compatible Bluray player, but I can play regular DVD without problem.
