I can get sound on internet explorer, but since v.4 Firefox can't get sound Web site. I use Kaspersky.

I just installed v. 4. Worked fine until I was on a website and adjust the volume to decrease the volume. but I hit another key on the keyboard at the same time by accident. I havem not on mute. I tried to turn on/off computer. I can get sound itunes on firefox. On windows Explorer, I can get sound on the same sites on firefox and there was then no sound. I think maybe v. 4 has too many problems. Maybe I'll go on Safari, but I've always liked earlier versions of firefox. I use a HP with 4 processors. Good machine too. laptop. How can I go back to the previous version 3.6 or something like that. This c. Firefox reminds me of the microsoft updates, causing Troubé for me and my reading. Thank you, Robert Armstrong

Hi Robert,.

You can downgrade to v3.6.16 by downloading it from here: Download Firefox v3.6.16

Uninstall the current version via Add/Remove Programs choose to keep your bookmarks, customizations etc. Then, restart and run the Setup file downloaded.

Maybe you can consult the manual for your HP laptop. There could be a combination of keys inadvertently, you turned on is causing the problem.

What questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode. Have you tried? If it works properly in this configuration, one of your modules is the culprit, but judging by what you wrote, I don't think in this case somehow special.

I noticed that you do not have the Shockwave for Director plugin installed. Some sites that need for reading. You can download it here: Download Shockwave for Director

It is also useful to check the status of your other plugins on the Plugins check page.

Maybe you can glean some info here too: what to do if Firefox will play not all sounds

PS sorry it took so long to answer your question.

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.

    Hi JP,

in such a short, it seems to me we/you can use the "turn" - technical. I want to say this, where after some time the swap images are displayed, usually in the following seconds. Now, you are using hours, instead of seconds, as we know half a day to 12 hours, if it works in the same way, right?

Here, I experimented with it and used:

delay in milliseconds between the swap image 1000 = 1 second
    var delay = 5000

    http://www.Goldschmiede-Blumberg.de/AdobTest/rotate/rotateB.html

Now just do the calculations, the milliseconds how much we need 12 hours, ready? Hans G.

It depends on which toolbar is. With some you need to install the Firefox version of this toolbar, with others, you may need to reinstall the application that put this toolbar in the web browser, and with others there could not be a version of this available for Firefox toolbar.

Sorry I can't be more specific, but without knowing which toolbar you are talking about it is the best answer I can offer.

  • Can't access some Web sites. Internet is to slow down, it won't work

Original title: can't access some Web sites.

I have a problem with one of the computers on my network.

Some Web sites will not load on one of the computers (although on all others).  The behavior is either it load so slow that it does not (speedtest.net) or it expires entirely (skype.com). This problem persisted for several months (it is one of the computers of my colleague and I administer the network and machines in our office).

    I checked things:

    1. this problem occurs in IE, Chrome and FireFox

    2. it does not occur if I use a web proxy such as hide.me

    3. it is persistent even in SafeMode with network.

    4. ipconfig/all parameters are the same between this machine and the other without a problem.

    5. the problem with Windows Firewall disabled.

6 ipconfig/flushdns does not solve the problem.

    7. no viruses or malware were found.

    8. on those ping timeout works very well (skype.com with ~ 140ms)

I'm really running out of things I can think beyond trying to reinstall Windows, but I prefer not to do so.  Are there possible ideas?

    Hi Nerratt,

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft community.

This problem can occur because of corrupted system files or settings or due to conflicts between the third-party applications.

    1. What version of internet explore do you use?
