Original title - MESSAGE of ERROR
Hello
I am runnung Windows Vista on my laptop Toshiba A200. As of a few days ago, asking that I try to open a session (I'm the admin), I get an error message saying "the Group Policy Client service does not log. Access is denied. »
I managed to get in the "back door" through my wife and did a system full scan with Norton and Spybot and neither found anything unusual. He asked me to change my user account settings, but of course, because my wife is not the admin, he won't let my do changes.
In addition, some of my software, such as Final draft, also seem to have vaporized.
Help!
Thanks in advance,
Steve Hayward
Hi stevehayward
1. is the computer on a domain?
2. during how long have you had this problem? If the computer is not connected to the domain, you can start in safe mode, and then try to perform a system restore.
Step 1 :
In safe mode; you have access to only the drivers and base files. Check out the link to start the computer in safe mode and then check-
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-modeStep 2:
You can perform a restore of the system to a previous point, when the issue was not present. The System Restore tool uses points of restore to return the system files and settings to an earlier point in time. You can use it to restore the operating system to a point in time where you have not experienced the problem.Note: When you use System restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.
To do this, there must be a restore point from the system in which the connection was successful.
Please refer to the below of the help links on performing a system restore.

The Group Policy Client service does not have logon
"Hi we seem to have almost exactly the same problem (on portable House my wife running Windows Vista Home Premium) and accessible via a wireless connection at home)." The only difference is that she receives the message 'the Group Policy Client service has no logon' every time she enters her password, to attempt to gain access to his laptop. We are sure that his password has not changed by mistake (or one of our children!), as a message "the user name or password is incorrect" appears if the wrong password. We can't even get to the start ORB / search bar. Any suggestions? I apologize if we are missing something simple, but we are not informed users! Any suggestions gratefully received. "Thank you James.
I'm having this same problem. Can't even get to my desk to create another profile.

Unable to connect to the Group Policy Client service
So I know there is a lot of info on how to solve this problem, but it CONTINUES to SE. As I'll fix it then after that I closed once or twice going to do EXACTLY the same thing, it gives you the screen with Windows can't connect to the Group Policy Client service. I have windows Pro 8.1 and I never had this problem before. If you guys know how permanently repair this them please say so. I don't like going back trying to set every time. And he started after only a day and then he kept doing the same screen. It would be very useful if you could respond ASAP.
Hello
Thank you for the update on this issue.
From now on, I recommend you to go through the following methods:
Method 1:
I suggest you perform the SFC scan and check if that helps. The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.
Note: System File Checker is a Windows utility that allows users to find corruptions in Windows system files and restore the damaged files.
After the SFC scan, run Windows Update.
Method 2:
Make sure that all Windows updates are installed on your computer as the issue may occur because of some missing updates for Windows components.
Please follow the steps to install the available Windows updates.
- Press Windows + C, type Windows Update in the start search box, and then click Windows Update in the results pane.
- Click find updates. When the scan finished, click optional review updates.
- Click the check box next to the update, and then click install updates.
- If you are prompted, read the license agreement, then click I agree.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to download and install updates. If you are prompted, restart your computer.
If the problem persists, please answer us with the details of the issue and messages.
Hope this information is useful. Please let us know the results to get help.

Original title: guest for Windows 7 Home Premium account
Hi all
I would like to aid which has had to face the problem below and how it was fixed.
I have Window 7 Edition home premium and created a guest account with normal privileges that is turned on but cannot access with the error "Windows could not connect to the Group Policy client service" I think that the main problem is related to a policy because when put on the account to administer it in pop, error message says 'Cannot connect to a windows service' Please check group policy log.
Thank you very much in advance
Hello
Thank you for your time and effort to get back to us, and I apologize for the delay in responding.
Method 1 step number d makes reference to the present Details tab on the event viewer, where you can get the details of the error. First, search for the error which will be something like Windows cannot process extension Client Strategy Group-side and click on the error and then click the Details tab and make a note of the GUID (Globally Unique Identifier) for the extension defective client-side. For reference, see the screenshot:
Now come to step f number , it indicates the location of the Group Policy Extensions so that you can check if the extensions shown in the case log and the Registry Editor extension have a difference. The path of the GPExtension is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\GPExtensions. For reference, see the screenshot:
Let us know if the steps are clear to understand now. If this isn't the case, we will be happy to help you further.
Thank you.

The Group Policy Client service could not sign-in
I'm having a problem with my computer, where everytime I try to connect I get the message "the Group Policy Client service could not sign-in. The computer is running Windows 8 and I have only 1 account configured on the computer (so I guess it's the administrator account). This started after I checked for Windows updates which all seem to load correctly. After the updates, the computer was arrested and I started to receive the message from the other day when you try to connect to it. This computer connects to my home network. Help, please!

Hello ColinMorton,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the Forums of HP, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.
I understand that you experience connection problems after that you run a Microsoft Update. I would recommend you look at the HP support document: Safe Mode of Windows 8 (8.1 is exactly the same) and the safe boot mode. Once you are in Mode safe I would recommend that you look at and follow the steps in the HP Support document: use Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8) (8.1 is exactly the same) and restore your system a few days before the update that caused you this problem. This will not affect your applications only personal folders that you have installed in the past few days and/or the settings that you have probably changed. You can simply reinstall the applications and/or re - change the settings later.
I hope that I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great weekend!

It's the ball that appeared recently on my desktop whenever I log in Windows 7 Ultimate x 64. Someone knows how to fix this? Please help me as soon as possible :(
I FOUND THE SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM!
The crash of your computer during updates Windows caused which!
I had this problem on my laptop since November, and it really annoyed me. I sifted through the event log and found the model of events leading up to the issue and, probably, he did.
In short, the model is as follows: Windows updates automatically run as planned, and when restarting is launched after the updates are complete, the computer crashes (probably during the reboot sequence). When starting, it signals that the last stop was not planned, and the question starts to happen.
I spent 2 days trying to dig a solution by Internet, without success, until I came across this page. It says nothing about this particular problem, but it gives more information on the SVCHOST process that launches many services, including Group Policy Client. It seems that when restarting vital registry settings have been lost during the accident and Group Policy Client 'do not know' how to start. Let me explain:
There are two places to look in the registry:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services this path must contain gpsvc key (a record), which is responsible for the configuration and service settings. I found the key was intact, so you do not touch anything here - just check that the key exists.
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows svchost It's the most important way you should look at in, because it should contain keys and values under the #1 key. Here are descriptions of what must be present there.
- There must be called GPSvcGroupmulti-string value. My laptop was missing it. Thus, you must create the multi-string value called GPSvcGroup and assign it the value GPSvc.
- Then, you must create a key (a folder) and name it GPSvcGroup - this key should normally be there, but, again, that it was missin on my laptop.
- Open the newly created GPSvcGroup folder, then create 2 DWORD values:
- First called AuthenticationCapabilities and you must give it a value of 0 x 00003020 (or in decimal form 12320)
- Second, called CoInitializeSecurityParam , and it must have the value 1.
When you have finished all the above steps, restart the computer, and the problem will be solved.
Step by step video for those who are not very technical procedure is here: http://youtu.be/4m5KEmckWK4
I'm so relieved that I could remedy and hope this will help others with the same question.

Windows could not connect to the Group Policy Client services
I tried you-tube suggestions on editing the registry and change the permissions of system administrator services but nothing worked. I have 10 users who get this message and cannot log on to their machines. The funny this is, so try it by logging in on enough times the 7 or 8 they will get in. I don't understand why they can't connect the fist 6 times but 7, they can. Thank you for your help

Why windows does not connect to the Group Policy client?
I am currently using a dell inspiron with windows 7 Edition 7720 Home premium and recently a message started to appear above my taskbar saying
"Unable to connect to a windows service.Windows could not connect to the Group Policy Client service. The problem prevents standard users to log on to the system. As long as administrator, you can go through the system event log to see why the service failed"Anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?The resolution is quite easy. Ignore all these tech geeks here and on other sites that just want to show how they can play with the registers - a very dangerous game. Go to search, type in cmd, open cmd as administrator. Type exactly this (with the indicated spaces): netsh winsock repair, and then press ENTER. You need to restart (NOT close and turn on) your computer. Bingo! Unfortunately, this condition can re - occur from time to time, as if you start your computer before you turn on your internet connection and establish a good connection. Don't worry the fix takes about 3 to 5 minutes depending on your speed of restart computer.

Group Policy Client service does not have...
By logging into my account on my Windows 7 admin, computer network, I get the message "the Group Policy Client Service failed to connect. Access denied. " Is anyway to fix this?
Hello
Yes but the updates have to reboot - you must restore back as much as it takes to
correct the problem.---------------------------------------
Another method that might help: references to Vista also apply to Windows 7.
Try these to erase corruption and missing/damaged file system repair or replacement.
1. run DiskCleanup - start - all programs - Accessories - System Tools - Disk Cleanup
2. start - type in the search - box COMMAND find top - RIGHT CLICK – RUN AS ADMIN

then go back and reset it to the Admin APPLY/OK - this clearly allows corruption. Do this several times. Do the
