You can use it to restore the operating system to a point in time where you have not experienced the problem. When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, the programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

  To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:

  1. click on Start

• 7520 can send faxes but cannot receive faxes

  We just installed the 7520 and everything seems to work fine except the reception of faxes.

  We can send faxes fine, but the strange thing is when I try to call the fax number for a phone, it acts like its dead, you never hear it ring or whatever it is, then it just disconnects. If I pass the phone cord to the Ext on the back of the unit and then dial the number I hear it ring the phone and the device 7520.  The screen lights up because there is an incoming call and shows that auto answer is on, but when he answers we never hear the normal fax type tones and it never connects.

  The phone is provided by Time Warner Cable and it plugs into the cable modem. We called Time Warner and they told us that the line for the fax is an analog line, but I have no idea how to verify or prove that.

  I can't understand why he's going to send faxes without problem but looks like it is a dead line trying to receive a fax.

  For the last 3 days I have not received e-mails in Windows Mail but you can send. I get them in Yahoo without any problem and could send in Yahoo yesterday, but today it is hit and Miss... I tried to send test e-mails to myself at once and to the e-mail address of my husband which I can access. He received some emails from Yahoo but not all and seems to have received all e-mails from Windows Mail.  I have followed all the advice on the forums, checked the settings, c.t., removed my anti-virus etc. but nothing worked.   Windows Live Mail does not have a password for himself.  Yes, he is the one making the request, but it is requested in the name of the mail server.  It works like this:

  2. Mail server (Yahoo) asks "what's the password?"

  Something between steps 3 and 5 have a problem.  Possible causes:

  • Your Yahoo! More premium email service has expired and you need to pay/renew your subscription to Yahoo
  • Your password has been changed without your knowledge
  • You type the wrong password (maybe by mistake because of shift CapsLock or NumLock)
  • Yahoo changed the setting on the server and you need to update your account settings in the WLM options.

  What email program are you using? I can't be sure of what you say above, but in all likelihood you have not correctly configured your e-mail program with the correct name of the SMTP server. Ask your ISP for the correct name.

  See also www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 Norton and Windows Mail will not agree, and you'd be better off with a much less invasive anti-virus as www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/ program, which is also free.

  In any case, start by checking your account works via webmail access.  If it works, then try to remove your e-mail account in Winmail opener and then compact and repair the database (www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).  Then add your account to mail back again and see if that fixes the problem.
