I can't access my 'deleted items folder.

I can't access my 'deleted items folder.  I get a long message in the deleted items folder display.
"Unable to display the folder. Microsoft Office Outlook cannot access the specified folder location. The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart Outlook. Outlook cannot open this item. The element may be damaged. »
Office Enterprise 2007 SP2
I tried to Help, Office Diaiagnostic, restart, I saw several comments with the same problem but no solution.
Should I try just reinstalling?

Try to compact and repair the database (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).  Also, make sure that this antivirus is does not interfere with Windows Mail (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3) and make sure you have the latest updates to Vista, including Service Pack 2.

  • Where is my deleted items folder?

I have a new e-mail account in outlook express.  My personal folders are Inbox, sent messages, drafts, and trash.  I do not have a deleted items folder, or I'm not.  When I delete messages, I don't know where they're going.  How can I create a deleted items folder?  My old e-mail account with Shaw had a deleted items folder but this new account with Telus does not for any reason any.  The two accounts ran outlook so I don't know what the problem is.  Help, please!

Unfortunately, very few use IMAP, if there aren't very many experts inside.  I had never used it before, but Bruce encouraged me, and I found that I could create one in my area, so I did.  I also did a deleted items folder.  (Note that there is no here too: http://help.seattleserver.com/imap-setup-outlook-express/)  What I tried to log on to the server via webmail and then add a folder of items deleted on the server.  Then, in OE, go to tools | The IMAP folders and reset the list.  Then you should have a file deleted in the list of folders.  After that make sure that you have set to display the Inbox | Current view | Show all messages.  Then when a message is deleted, a line is drawn through the message in the message list to indicate it has been marked for deletion and it should move to the deleted items folder when folders are re-sync.

    See if that helps any.

The backup to iCloud for an iPad does not include items that are already in iCloud, your iCloud stream library and my photos are not included in the backup to iCloud.

You may have a damaged identity especially if it's the default main identity. File | Identity | Add the new identity. Create a new one and try it. If all goes well, you can import your messages and address book from the old identity and delete it.

Note: Do not use the main word in the name of the new identity.

    General precautions for Outlook Express:

Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

Information on the maximum size of the .dbx files that are used by Outlook Express:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/?kbid=903095

After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the processors and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs and account setting changes. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:
    http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3

    And backup often.

  • Loss of the deleted items folder

When I delete a mail from my box as planned and according to my work e-mail e-mail moves to the deleted items folder. However, when I log in the e-mail message has disappeared from deleted items and I can't get it back. I thought it must be something to do with the properties of my deleted items folder or maybe it is set up to remove items permanently when you disconnect However despite many attempts I can't find where it shows what I can change the settings. Please help because I lost some important emails. Thank you

This can happen only if you have a message in place rule or the sender entered blocked senders. Carefully review these two areas and any spam program, you may have.

  • How to remove the elements in the "Deleted items" folder using Microsoft Windows Mail?

This used to work, but I was not able to remove items from the deleted items folder and it takes a lot of space.  I used to be able to do it and it automatically deletes the items when I closed Windows Mail (it is always set up to do, incidentally, does not yet), but now it does not work. I've tried everything. I used the link at the top of the page coming down and clicked on "Empty Deleted Items Folder", but it does not work.

I tried to download Windows Live Mail and it won't work on my computer.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you!

Maybe could turn the setting and then turn again. Sometimes it works, but I wouldn't be surprised if she did not help, or if you have already tried.

    Take note of the following:

    1. I've never used only 8 years old, Windows Mail
    2. Windows Mail is not supported.

The deleted items folder has a clean button on it? This can empty it completely. Another thing to consider is that your e-mail service can remove items deleted periodically. However, as you say, it takes place, so you can delete them manually.

Alternatively, you can consider changing the e-mail programs. You said that Windows Live Mail did not work. You can try an older version, because I don't think not 2012 works on Vista (based on absolutely no evidence, by the way) another option to consider is Mozilla Thunderbird. If you have Microsoft Office and it includes Outlook, certainly use it.

That's the only advice I have. If this does not help, I don't have anything else for you.

  • When I try to delete the message in the "Deleted items" folder I get an error message "some items in the folder"Deleted items"could not be deleted." year error has occurred. Any Suggestions?

I get to see all the messages that I deleted in my "Deleted items" folder and when I try to delete the message in this folder I get an error message 'some items in the folder "Deleted items" can not be deleted.' an error has occurred.  Also when I try to delete my Inbox it won't move message from 'deleted items '.  Any suggestions?

This is probably due to a mismatch between what is in the message store and which think that the database is in the message store.  Try to compact and repair the database and see if that fixes the problem.  See www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/

  • Windows Vista Mail - Unable to remove deleted items folder

I show 894 messages in my deleted items folder.  When I click on this folder I don't see any messages.  When I right click to empty deleted folder, I get an error message - some items in the folder "Deleted items" may not be deleted - an error has occurred.

What I see - when I go in the folder items that are removed in the lower left corner, it says "0 0 messages reading".  If the folder is empty, but how can I get rid of the number in brackets - 894?

Also would help compaction?  If so, please tell me where to go to do it.  Thank you.
