I can't change the tabs in preferences iMac 10.9.5 Firefox 38

I opened the preferences it is under the general tab in the sidebar by clicking or scrolling is not change seeking to privacy settings

Looks like a problem with the theme you use that does not support the topic: preferences page correctly.
You can check if there is an update or deactivate the theme and go back to the default theme.

You can enable/disable browser.preferences.inContent false on the subject: the preferences page via double click to restore the autonomous Options/preferences window you had in previous versions of Firefox.

You can open the topic: config page via the address bar.
You can accept the warning and click on "I'll be careful" to continue.

Have you tried the Firefox zoom feature? This initiative will increase the size of the web pages.

    • To make things smaller, press Ctrl and - at the same time.
    • Pour reinitialiser to reset the size of return to normal, press Ctrl and 0 at the same time.

You can also use the NoSquint. Add on to change the zoom level by default for all websites at the same time. After setting your overall zoom level, you can still adjust the zoom on different sites.

    With the help of NoSquint:

    1. After installation of NoSquint, make sure you have the add-on bar displayed:

      • Click the new tab button ("+") or a box empty bar tab to the right of the item and choose the module bar on the shortcut menu.
    2. Click on the % in the bar of the add-on call site preferences, then click the global settings button, then the zoom tab.
      • You can experiment with sizes greater than 125%, but it is not recommended that you will more than 150%, unless you have a large screen high resolution.

If there are sites that are still a concern, feel free to post their URLs.

Please let us know if this helped you!

  • How can I change the system on my imac OSX 10.11.4 Administrator?

It's on a new iMac (2016). I SHOULD be the system administrator. Firefox won't let me update because it says I don't have permission and need to contact my system administrator. Ugh.

This happens with all apps or just Firefox? If it's just FF, and then in the Finder choose FF and right-click to get the information. In the sharing and permissions permissions are checked. Open the triangle. The permissions should be:

    Me > reading and writing

    Admin > read-only

    all read-only.

Click the lock and authenticate you to change

I posted a style rule to shrink the tiles, which allows several of them on the page, but naturally reduces their legibility. You can experiment with the dimensions to find a look that works for you.

I use the Stylish extension to experiment because of its preview function that allows me to see the effect quickly. You can install it from the site of modules, then after restart of Firefox while searching for his "S" icon in the toolbar to manage Styles so you can edit and experiment.
