I can't connect to my user account name, and it does not accept my password.

Hi Jillgatewood,

You did a recovery password file? You can use it to reset your password. Unfortunately if you have lost or forgotten your password, you will need to consult this article KB http://support.microsoft.com/kb/189126/en-gb

  • I've set up the virtual machine in win 7 Ultimate and put some data. Now when I try to connect it asks password and does not accept any password.

Default password Machine virtual XP Mode

I've set up the virtual machine in win 7 Ultimate and put some data. Now when I try to connect it asks password and does not accept any password. Please giveme the default password

If you're talking about XP Mode the default password is XPMUser.  In general you can not use Windows without a password in Windows Virtual PC that you can with Virtual PC 2007 and before.  XPMUser is used only with the XP Mode virtual machine.  All other virtual machines requires a user created password.  If you have changed the password in XP Mode and forgotten, then you have to start over.

Windows Virtual PC is based on virtual server rather than VPC and all virtual machines need a password.  If necessary, uninstall the integration features, start the virtual machine and create a password for the admin user.  Restart the virtual machine, and then reinstall the integration features.  You will not be able to access a virtual machine created by the user that has no password, while the integration features are installed.  Once you have everything right, that a virtual machine will not be asked a password if you are the admin user in Windows 7.

  • My administrator account does not accept my password.

Once I turn on my computer, I have two accounts, one for me and my young son (Administrator account) it won't take my password.

You can change your password to something that you remember another administrative user account. If you had only an administrative user account and you have forgotten the password, you can use one of the following methods instead. You can then follow the general recommendations for implementing user accounts in Vista that I will give you at the end of this post.

All this requires a certain level of computer skills. You know better and that take the machine to a competent local computer tech (not a type of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad place) is the best solution for you.

Method 1 - if you have a Vista DVD installation (not a recovery DVDs), you can start the system with it. Select the default language, then select "repair your computer". Then select "Command Prompt". At the command prompt, type:

NET user administrator / Active: Yes
NET user [insert here the name of your user account] [insert the new password of user as 1234 here]

[Note: do not enter the brackets!]

Now, you will be able to connect to your user account by using the password that you set; for example, 1234. If you do not have a Vista installation DVD, you can either make a bootable DVD of Vista repair in the file at this link:

    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/

Method 2 - or you can use NTpassword to change the password of your user account to a blank. In both cases, you need third-party burning software such as Nero, Roxio or the free ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com ) to burn the .iso image image file, not in the form of data.

    http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/

    3. sign in to your administrative user (not the built-in administrator) account which will be the subject of any password or something simple like "1234".

If you used method 1, after that connect you to your administrative user account, you must disable the administrator built-in yet for security reasons:

Start Orb > Search box > type: cmd
When cmd appears in the above results, right-click and choose "Run as Administrator" [OK]. Now, you will get the command prompt. At the command prompt, type:

NET user administrator / active: No. [Enter]

    Exit the command prompt.

General recommendations for creating users in Vista:

You absolutely don't want to have only one user account. As XP and all the other modern operating systems, Vista is an OS multi-user with system built-in accounts such as administrator, by default, all users and guest. These accounts should be left alone because they are part of the structure of the operating system.

In particular, you do not want one account user with administrative privileges on Vista because the administrator account integrated (normally only used in emergencies) is disabled by default. If you use as an administrator for your daily work, and this account is corrupt, things will be difficult. It is not impossible to activate the built-in administrator to rescue things, but it will take third-party tools and work outside the operating system.

The user account that is for your daily work must be a Standard user, with the extra administrative user (call it something like 'CompAdmin' or 'Tech' or similar) only it for elevation purposes. After you have created "CompAdmin", connect to it and change your normal user account Standard. Then log on to your regular account.

  • Connection problem diagnosis - "the remote device or resource does not accept the connection detected.

My computer is a Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit. The problem occurred about 2 months ago, while he was still in Vista, but please note that I've upgraded to Windows 7 last night and the problem is always the same.

My Internet Explorer, updates to the computer, iTunes and everything, EXCEPT my AOL, does not work. My connection says 'excellent '. (Hang everything on my laptop to my wireless are works fine, that my office is having this problem)
When I click on Internet Explorer, it says "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage", and when I click on "analyze the connection problem" said "problems discovered - the remote device or resource does not accept the connection detected.
I talked to my internet provider Comcast all morning this problem: she said that his side internet connections work properly. She walked through me steps including reconnected the router cords, control the way in which the Internet is put in place and other things, but everything was how it was supposed to be. She suggested that maybe AOL could be the problem and to remove it because I used it, so I did, but nothing has changed. So then she told me to contact Windows... (not sure how to call technical Windows supports without having to pay $59?, but found this forum)
Is anyone familiar with this problem and could you please help or at least point me in the right direction?
In addition, please let me know if you need any other information on the problem.
    Thank you

  • I can't connect to windows user accounts

I'm unable to access the prompt or my own user account on my Acer Aspire One net book. When I enter my password, the computer begins to open a session (the message "loading your personal settings... ("appears under my account user name) but then it changes abruptly to"off record"and I returned to the scene of password entry.

I tried to connect with passwords incorrect which returns a message 'you have forgotten your password', and I also tried in safemode and met the same results with my own account and the administrator account.

This problem started after I restarted my netbook after uninstalling anti-virus (McAfee Security Center).

This problem is usually caused by a missing or damaged to userinit.exe, file found in the Windows folder (typically C:\Windows\System32).  You need to start on an external system to check/replace this file.  There is a possibility that you can do a restore of the system from a command prompt on a date before your problems, and if you're lucky, it might fix your problem:

"How to start the System Restore tool by using the option of safe mode with the command prompt in Windows XP"

If this does not work, you will need to boot from another system and try to replace this file.  Your computer has a recovery console? -This could work.  I know that the net books have no CD/DVD players so that limits what you can start from.  You can try to use another computer to a free Linux Live system on a USB stick and start from that.  Ubuntu has instructions for doing this.  You may need to change your BIOS settings to allow booting from a USB key. Then you can boot from the USB key and access your files/hard drive and maybe replace this file.  Ubuntu is actually an installation disc, so make sure that you specify the option 'Try' very so that you do not install it.

  • login screen Microsoft account does not accept my password reset

After trying several times the cccount login page microsoft won't reset my password.  I called microsoft and they say reset my password again.  I have done this and chosen a new password, but it still does not recognize my new password.  Help!

You have enabled authentication step 2?
I suspect what happens is that you use always the global account password and not the built application password.  You will always get mail until you connect the device (which is a good idea in any case) and then you'll need generate a password (on the pc in outlook.com) and 'trust' of the mobile device. After what he should not do that.

You must open a session and go here https://account.live.com/securityprivacy/overview to do.

Alternatively, you can install the outlook application, so whenever you need an "access code", you can approve it directly on the mobile device.
