I can't create a new folder ANYWHERE, starting for maybe a month or two before. Are there solutions?

I'm starting to better organize my PC and I can't do all new folders for something again, I download or just for what it is, I can't make a new folder, whether on the desktop, or in the documents... does anyone have a solution that works?

  • Regardless of the update of windows and the drivers, I can't create a new folder anywhere.

I have windows 7 and a LG monitor. For some reason, I can't right click and create a new folder. All other functions of the file seem to work.

    Hello Wesley,

I don't know why you mentioned your monitor, is there something related to your question of record?

In any case, to create a new folder in the Solution Explorer, you right-click on the folder parent (or drive) and select 'create a new folder '. Are you saying that its lack of right click menu? If Yes, most probably the cause is in the configuration of the Explorer.

To access, click on the word "Conduct" in the Solution Explorer's main window and in the menu that opens, select "folder and search options. That opens a window, from the tabs along the top of the page, select "View". Which in turn opens a window with several check boxes, make sure that the default settings are checked (there is a button at the bottom of the window to do) and try again.

Let me know how you fare.

  • I can't create a new folder anywhere.

If I right click somewhere, I don't get the 'new' 'folder' option at all. If I click on "new folder" in Explorer I get nothing. I have no problem to do to work with Windows 7. In addition, I don't have access to a large number of files (Documents and Settings is just one of them). How can I fix?

    Hello Steve,.

Not to mention the other approach mentioned here, to solve this problem for a long time with Windows 7, I recommend a program called FileMenu Tools. You can download the portable freeware from here: http://www.softpedia.com/get/PORTABLE-SOFTWARE/System/System-Enhancements/FileMenu-Tools-Portable.shtml .

After having downloaded and installed the program, you will notice that, by default, each option is checked. I would be much more selective on this subject, otherwise your context menu will be a full page long! When the main window opens, you will see a list on the right side of all the elements that can be added to the context menu. Start weeding through the list and every one to take away, you don't need the United Nationsby checking the box.

Once you have completed your selection (de-selections) make sure that you click the green check mark in the row of icons at the top of the left window of the interface to 'Apply' of your choice. The program can do much more, but that answers your specific question. I am told that the program has a good help file, so try here if you are interested.

  • New folder: I can't create a new folder anywhere

When I click on new folder, does not respond, nothing happens?

    Hello

You did any software or hardware changes to the computer before the show?

Start in safe mode and check if the problem persists or not, if the issue not to persist in safe mode, and then perform the clean boot.

    R: start in safe mode

Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.

Start your computer in SafeMode (Windows 7)

    B: Perform Clean boot

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

  • Why I can not create a new folder in Windows Contacts and rename it?

I keep my contacts in Windows Contacts, divided into folders named category.  In the past, I was able to press the button "New folder" to create a new folder, and then rename the folder.  Now, I can create a new folder, but Windows doesn't allow me the no - name.  As soon as I type the name of the new folder and press ENTER, it goes back on behalf of the "new folder". Can someone explain what happened?

If possible, although I honestly don't see how the shortcut should influence.  Try this, just delete your shortcut, then take the icon on the left side of the address bar of the 'work' contacts folder and drag your desktop and drop it.  This example is part of a control panel, but it works the same:

When you say drive do you mean drive or partiion? Readers are divided into one or more partitions.

Your problem is probably not a result of having a limited user account.

Try to create a new folder, an indication of the exact time that you do. Then, look in the event viewer and see if you can see the report in the system / application log registration issue. Thanks for posting a copy of therep [ort in your next message.

To access the system log, select Start, Control Panel, administrative tools, Event Viewer, in the list on the left of the window select Windows and the system logs.

Place the cursor on the system, right click and select filter current log. Check the front of the error and click OK and see you only reports errors. Click header to sort on the Date and time. You may need to click a second time to see the last report above.

A tip for posting copies of error reports! Run the event and double observer
Click on the error you want to copy. In the window that appears is a
button resembling two pages. Click on the button and close event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. Make sure that it is the first dough right out of
    Event Viewer.
