I can't delete a corrupted file which keeps causing execution errors

During a simple renaming of files, the file became corrupted somehow and the file is on my desk. Whenever I start it, a message error window pop up and States:

"This application has requested the execution to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact support team of enforcement for more information".

The name at the top of the error message window is Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Then if I click OK or close this window it says that windows Explorer has stopped working and you have to restart.

I think that if I can delete the damaged from the computer I will not continue to receive this error message but I tried everything I know and I am unable to remove it. I even ran a program called "FileASSASSIN" but it was impossible to remove.

I also ran my anti-virus software to remove the damaged files, but was unable to remove it. I can not move the file to another folder or even rename it again.

I really don't want to have to re - install windows, if there still around him.

Thank you

Jerry...

You can use system restore to go back to an earlier date at the beginning of the problem. To run system restore, click Start-> programs-> Accessories-> System Tools-> system restore. Click on the box that says show more restore points.

-

You can check the corrupted system files. Open an administrator command prompt and run SFC if the above does not help. Click START, and then type CMD in the search box, right-click on CMD. EXE and click run as administrator. Then, from the command prompt type sfc/scannow.

When you got your system back as you, I invite you to buy an external hard drive, and a good backup 3rd party program. You can configure it to automatically do everything in time and frequency of your choice. 1.5 TB external hard drives is approximately $90 these days and a very good FREE backup program corresponds to the Easeus todo backup free of charge that you can download from

http://www.todo-backup.com/products/home/free-backup-software.htm . Who can make you save a lot of time and frustration, the next time something like this happens. Sooner or later, it happens to all computers for one reason or another.

Good luck.

In Lightroom 5, after that I turned my RAW files to DNG can I delete the original files? I am fill hard drives at time (or so it seems) and I remember someone once telling me that after I converted my dng files RAW versions, I could delete my original RAW files.

    Thank you!

Yes, you can remove the original RAW files once convert you them to DNG. The only downside is that if you want to use the software from the manufacturer of the camera for a reason, so key information that can be used by the software manufacturer is deleted in the conversion from RAW to DNG.

    Hi Slim,

First of all thank you very much for your help.

I now sort the problem using the AVCHD tab.  I can't that assume that because the original video is of high quality in the program would not burn an iso file to DVD to address normal.  I also had to change the setting from 'Type' to "ISO Image (8.5 GB)" because it would not 4.7 GB.

    Kind regards

  • How can I check and delete the corrupted files?

I was told that my laptop performance could be carried out by missing or corrupt files. I can't find the system check in the Panel, and it is not found when I try to kick it and run. I don't have the original recovery or installation disk disk.

According to the page I've linked in the other post: Hard Drive16 GB (Solid State Drive Flash Module).  Solid State Drive SSD =

    You can always do another:

Check and repair corrupt files is to open cmd in the start menu, then right click "Run as Administrator".  Then type chkdsk c: / r

    • If you get an error "Chkdsk cannot run", type in, ChkDsk runs on your next Windows startup

Who will eventually fix any corrupt system files, but not others.  You suspect corruption in the other or all of the files, then probably the SSD is having problems.  That can be fixed with conventional methods, as far as I KNOW.  Maybe time to replace it with a new SSD or hard drive classic, if possible.  Don't know how HP implimented the SSD in the mini.

Since there is no DVD/CD drive integrated into the unit, get an external hard drive or USB key and backs up all data that you consider important before things get worse.  You can buy 16 GB flash drives or bigger, so that would be my suggestion.  Just copy everything on a flashdrive before anything else is done.

If you have Vista Business, Vista Ultimate or Vista Enterprise, you can be lucky.  They have so-called saves shadow copies, which are deleted or modified files that can be found in case changes/deletions made by mistake (or could have not corrupted versions available versions).  http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/Windows-Vista/features/shadow-copy.aspx more information about how to use this feature to: http://blogs.techrepublic.com.com/howdoi/?p=145.

If you have Vista Basic or Premium of Vista, shadow copies is not available; However, there is an alternative that is free and the shadow copies feature called Shadow Explorer. http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/recover-files-with-shadow-copies-on-any-version-of-windows-vista/.  Although it will not help you this time, it could very well save you in case this happens again.

  • Creative cloud think my purchased programs need to subscriptions and I can't delete the remaining files of CC!

It's absolutely maddening. I finished my subscription and delete all programs of cc. I also have my previously PURCHASED without a subscription based programs. Once I deleted all the files of CC, a small part of the CC remained, telling me that if I want to run my versions CS6 Photoshop or premiere, I have to subscribe! I even re-downloaded (no rental) programs purchased on adobe.com, but he ALWAYS wants me to pay for a subscription! There is one folder of creative cloud left in my program adobe files and no matter how hard I trying to delte, he tells me that I can't, it's 'open in another program' well I go into task manager and stop damn near every suspicious program which could be executed, it and it may not ALWAYS be deleted. And I don't even know if the removal of this last folder CC stops this. ADOBE. What the devil.
