I can't export my address book. I tried tools/export/csv, but it is empty.

I am trying to export my address book in excel. I'm going to address book/tools/export. I chose the csv, the name of the file and click Save. The result is a file with the address book titles, but no data. Can you help me?
Thank you!
Nancy

When you export a book, make sure that you are NOT on 'All address books', but chose a real book to export.
The "all address books" is a compilation of all entries from all address books. You can print it 'All' but not export.

    "Address book".
    Select address book
    "View' > 'Show name as' > last/first". "

    You can sort by name.
Click on the 'Name' column header to change the sort order,
Reversed, then click on the 'Name' column header again to reverse the order.

    Or
    'View' > ' sort by ' > select 'Name' and 'Crescent '.

  • Can not get the address book to display the email addresses of the contacts

I moved BT mail using Thunderbird to access my emails. Everything went OK, until I tried to import my
contacts. I can't get my address book to display the email addresses of the contacts. I will admit that I do not understand the menu you want to move the two columns from top to bottom after importing the csv file. Please can you explain what I'm doing wrong here. All I want is first name, last name and email showing in the address book. Thank you

I tried to write a procedure to http://thunderbirdtweaks.blogspot.com.au/2013/03/importing-csv-files.html some time ago here. but the thing is if you change the columns in the CSV file in a spreadsheet, first match that Thunderbird expected (both in name and order), then you don't need to play with this terrible UI that aligns with the name of the field name of the field.

It is in this dialogue if you have the family name next to the e-mail address of the family name is considered to be the email address.

  • Computer crashed and has been restored. I can't find my address book Outlook Express or Outlook Express folders. Please help me.

Computer crashed and a computer store restored our operating system. However, I can't find my address book Outlook Express or Outlook Express folders. Please help me.

Kewl! Did you find a folder named Outlook Express which had a number of inside DBX files? And there a file called Folders.dbx? If so, that's fine.

Write on the way and in the new identity of OE: file | Import | Messages. Select Microsoft Outlook Express 6, and then point to the folder that you have found.

My computer crashed and I can't find my address book Outlook Express, any ideas?

    • Define 'crash '.
    • OE else works?
    1. In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.
    2. Do a search, then search for *.wab
    3. If you find your address book, open the address book in OE and then file | Import | Address book (wab) and navigate to the location that you found it in.

  • How can I copy the address book Thunderbird from Windows to Ubuntu?

I use Windows on a Pc 8.1 and 14.04 Ubuntu on the other.

I think the best way is to export address books needed of the LDIF files on the first machine and import the LDIF files on the second machine.

Alternatively, you can copy the files from *.mab data from one machine to the other. Two default address books are represented by abook.mab and history.mab and can be simply copied. Other user-defined address books will be designated as abook1.mab etc. and will have to be imported. I'd say MoreColumnsForAddressBook for this task.

  • How can I download my address book to a reader flash/impossible to open the ldif file

I want to put the parties (collected groups) to my address book in T-Bird on a flash drive.
I export to downloads and send it to a flash drive, but it's in a format I can not open (ldif)

Use instead the files separated by commas. It will open with excel. The LDIF format is import of return in e-mail programs. The CSV file can also be imported, but the other format works more easy to import.

  • How can I transfer my address book from Thunderbird to another running Thunderbird computer and combine the old and the new list into one?

I have a computer in my summer residence and one to my winter home. They both run Thunderbird for my emails. When I move one residence for others, I want to update my address book Thunderbird. I do it by selecting - address book - tools - export, on the ' old computer ', store them on a memory stick, and paste _ address book - tools - import, the new address to load the list from memory. It works, except that the address of old and new lists are separate lists. I would like to combine them, but without the duplication of the same addresses. Is this possible? How can I do this?

  • How can I correct my address book so that it inserts the correct email address in the ' to: ' space?

I can't locate the addresses in my address book because of a separate TBird problem which is apparently solved by technical experts, but I also have this AddressBook problem unrelated. When I start typing an e-mail address in the "to:" slot, Thunderbird end address since we can see it in the address book (but I don't). Then he words the address and insert it into the To: field. But, given that the address is blurred, it does not work. I have no idea that the address is blurred. It looks something like this when Thunderbird is done with it: "[email protected]@gmail.com."

Removal and restoration of the profile makes no difference, as export/import of the contents of the address book as an .ldif file makes no difference. I asked this question before, but didn't get any help, so I try again.

This means that a new type of auto-complete was introduced in the last version, but it has been insufficiently tested, and if several other previously hidden bugs have emerged. You can read the discussion (and add your vote for its importance) here:
