• I can't find the inDesign right tools to produce my bike map.

  I produce a mountain BIKE-trail map that has several different trails in the same area. In order to make a trail on top of the underlying image of the map, I used the pen tool and the path left open. I then turn off the fill color, choose a proper stroke color and width in order to make the path visible. This is a problem. Now, I don't have the option to give the path a black line, given that the function of the race has already been used to generate the color of the track itself.

  How to fix this? I researched and found that Illustrator can handle several tracks but I much rather continue to work in inDesign if possible. Is there a way to simply 'draw' a path, then give it a fill color AND a shot?

  Now, I made duplicates of the trails in a separate layer, did the black race and increased their width a little to give an effect of 'contour '. But it's a stupid approach this project develops and some trails change with time. I want to be as smart as possible at the beginning, saving time in the future.

  And sometimes 2 or more trails to connect and follow the same path, where in this case I want to use a form of dotted lines that display multiple colors to the same path, indicating several ATV trails. Is it possible to make a few preset run that alternates between several colors?

  Any help/advice about the design of cards is welcome. I'm quite new to inDesign, but spent a lot of time in Photoshop making brochures etc.

  To get the colors overlapping for several tracks on the same road, even in Illustrator, I think you would have to play by a solid line at the bottom, then stack the different features of a length rushed on so gaps reveal the dashes below. It's going to be capricious.

  Looks like the Navigation bar is what you have now. What happens when you press the Alt key? You see the Menu bar, at least temporarily until you press another button or click a mouse button. When this Menu bar is displayed, press the V button to open the view menu, and then move the slider on the toolbar and click on the menu bar menu item. The Menu bar should then stay open all the time and you won't need to deal with the orange Firefox button.
