  You can use the wireless router but you cannot use pc as a wireless router.

  As long as the disc you are using is the exact same OEM disc that would be provided by IBM that would work on these computers. It cannot be a copy in the Windows retail.

  I suggest you to check if temporarily uninstall the antivirus software on the computer Windows XP allows you to connect properly.

  But don't forget to install the software after troubleshooting is done such that your computer will be at risk.

  Method 2:
  You can also check the settings of firewall on the windows XP computer. You can check if the ports are opened correctly for the network to connect. See the help link - below
