I can't get my hp pro 8500 A910 printer office jet to print in color when I want to.

When I want to print a page of the internet in black & white it prints in color.  When I want to print an Excel in color, prints in black & white.

It is a new problem.  My printer to work just fine.

My operating system is Windows XP.

Which means it's probably a setting, check the following points. (steps written for windows 7)

Go to the control panel and find "Devices and printers" and doulble up until it clicks.

You should see the icon for your printer, choose one without fax in the name.

Right click and choose 'printer properties '.

On the 'general' tab click on 'Preferences '.

In the screen again on the "layout" tab "Advanced" cick

In the new screen make sure that "print in grayscale" is disabled, and then click ok several times until all displays have disappeared.

Try to print again. And ensure that in printing color printing is also checked.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 A910: printer duplex option forget

I have the duplex unit installed and that you have used successfully for some time.   Are some time I tried to print double-sided, but the option was not in the print window.  I went into the options of the printer and found that the duplex was not checked.  I checked and was able to print two-sided without problem.

Some time later I tried again to duplex, and again once the option wasn't there.  I can reset the option, but very shortly after the OS 'forgets' setting.  Basically, I have to do every time I want to duplex.

This was not always a problem.  It worked fine until a couple of months ago (and Mac OS updates several there).  I have two Macs connected over wi - fi for this printer and Mac have the problem.

    Hey @alhurley,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I hope you enjoy your stay here.

I understand that you have a few options with the option of double-sided printing associated to your Officejet Pro 8500 all-in-One printer on your computer Mac OSX 10.11. I can help you with that.

Here's how we should be able to fix this:

    1. Disconnect the USB cable if it is connected.
    2. Click your Apple system and print and Scan preferences icon.
    3. Hold down the command key and click the icon of your printer on the left.
    4. Click on reset printing system.
    5. Restart your Mac.

Now connect the USB cable again if you removed previously. Otherwise:

    1. Go to the Apple preferences system, print, and Scan.
    2. Press the button "+" in the lower left corner.
    3. Select your printer from the list.
    4. In the box next to click on Airprint and select your printer from the list.
    5. Click on Add.

One last thing to do now is click on Apple, updates of the system and all the necessary updates.

This should fix the duplex printing option. If not then the next step would be to contact Apple as there is something weird is happening with your operating system.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 A910: Print in black ink only

I'm running out of color ink, but printer will not let me just print in black. I can't afford to replace the colors, but the black cartridge is full.  I can't write much more, so I use it to print my letters to my 84 year old mother.  She can't read my writing, so it's really causing me harm.  Help, please!  I set it up to print just in black, but it still does not print until the colors are replaced.

The Officejet 8500 has separated from the inks and printheads, with "plumbing" to connect.  Printing without one of the present inks ingests between air in the pipes and may damage the print head.

You need to replace the depleted cartridges.

  • You are using windows 7, how can I get my Officejet Pro K8600 print on paper 13 x 19?

I bought a laptop with Windows 7. Now I can't get my Officejet Pro K8600 to print correctly on paper 13 x 19. It prints on paper 13 x 19, but everything is 8.5 x 11 in size. I click on print, click Properties, change the Super B 13 x 19 paper, press ok, watch box paper 13 x 19 with images by filling out the document, I click ok to print and it prints the image 8.5 x 11 in size on paper 13 x 19 rather than fill the paper 13 x 19. I did not have this problem (and still haven't) with my old laptop with XP. It is the operating system or is it a bad setting in the properties? I tried to compare the property settings in both computers, but I can't find any differences. I don't think it's the driver... Please help!

    Hello HW,.

Try this: go to devices and printers and right click on the of K8600 Officejet Pro and click on printer properties. Go to the Advanced tab and click on the button called Print Processor. Select Winprint. Try another print and see if it works now. If you still see the same question to see if there is an option of scaling in the print dialog in the application you are printing from.

  • HP officejet pro 8500 A910: HP officejet Pro 8500 A910 not found.

When I click the Start scan this popup HPScan happens, however until I uninstalled and reinstalled via software CD there was an another popup that said cannot communicate with a list of things to do including unplug it 10 dry. the router etc and printer.  Which does not appear more and before that, when I printed I need to clear the province of Quebec before the printer would print: WordDoc. Now, it has nothing hanging in Quebec and fact to the printer, but I can't scan. I contacted Sitecom and done everything I can do with them. The IP address is not appear in the properties of the printer, it shows a WSD Port and not TCP/IP. WIFI summary information indicates an IP address which has been registered before the last week power issue. Since this issue, the analysis did not correctly. A month ago there is power problem and when it was all done with, as well as of Sitecom and WLR 5002-AC750 everything worked on this IP address 192.168.2.99; but now the router is not displayed it and when I try to make a connection static it will not accept this IP and indicates the reason because he's not with the router IP listing series. I even restored HP printer, etc. Sitecom said I need to contact you because of the language of the printer or something like that. Please do not forget that helped Sitecom there are a lot of things a few weeks and you have the printer works on the router etc. is not that they are unwilling to help, they are now limited to go further in the problem of scan and I can't give them an announcement IP of the printer that works with the router , but it feels so... How can I get this IP?

    Hi @newdawn,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see that your HP Officejet Pro 8500 A910 printer will not communicate wirelessly on your network. I'd be happy to help you and don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

I understand that you attempted to assign a static IP address, but the INVESTIGATION period is to give you questions. Please the following steps to help solve the problem.

What is the IP address of the computer?
    It starts with 192.168.2.XXX?

    • If the computer has a different IP address, such as 192.168.1.XXX. This means that the computer and the printer are on different networks.

If so, please proceed as follows:

    • Restore the default settings of network on the printer.
    • Run the configuration wizard wireless for reconnected to the network.
    • Click here to update the firmware of the printer.

    TIPS:

    • Don't hide the SSID (network name).
    • What type of encryption are you helping? HP recommends WPA and WPA2.
    • You have a double router broadband? Make sure that the two groups were not the same network name.

If the problem persists, you may encounter an IP address conflict. It's a good idea to assign the printer a static IP address outside your DHCP range. For example, some routers default DHCP is located between 192.168.0.100 to 192.168.0.200. So, I would use 192.168.0.232.

To assign the static IP address, use the following steps as a guide.

    • Print a Page of Network Configuration menu of the printer front panel. Note the IP printer. IPV4 address
    • Type the IP address in the browser to bring up the SAP.
    • Choose the network tab, then wireless on the left side, and then select the IPv4 tab.
    • Select Manual IP.
    • Enter your IP address manual (192.168.0.232)
    • Enter 255.255.255.0 for the subnet mask, except if it is different.
    • Enter the IP address of your router that sits on the Network Configuration Page) for the default gateway.
    • Please, click on manual DNS server. For the preferred DNS Server Manual please enter 8.8.8.8 and the Alternate DNS Server Manual, please enter 8.8.4.4.
    • Click on apply.
    • Restart the router, the printer and the computer.
    • Test printing and scanning.

You can try to change your WSD printer port by a Standard TCP/IP port.

Switch your printer WSD for a by Standard TCP/IP port port To do this, you will need your current IP address printers.

You will then want to follow these steps for the switch port:
  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 A910 connection problem

    Dear Forum,

We have problems of connection with the Officejet Pro 8500 A910 printer/Scanner.

The device is connected through the wireless network and can reach the server (e.g. for the storage of digital images).

When we try to access the printer (or scan) with a computer (WinPC or Mac) that is also connected via the same wireless network, the printer/scanner is not reachable (host unreachable), i.e. even a simple PING for the network address (IP V4) of the printer/scanner cannot be completed. As soon as we connect to the computer via the wired local network, can be reached at new printer/scanner (normal operation). Between the two States (computer connected via wireless or wired LAN) no changes have been made to the configuration of the printer/scanner. It's all simply inaccessible when the computer tries to connect to the printer/scanner is connected through the wireless network.

We looked at the different wireless router firewall settings, but can't find anything, the firewall is off (like the router works behind a firewall, like all LAN).

    I've been "compatibility 802. ' 11 b / g "in network settings advanced printer, without effect.

Anyone who has a smart idea why this is so? We tried different computers with different operating systems, but still the same photo...

    Thank you!

What router?  Is "isolation wireless" or "AP Isolation" enabled on the router?  This prevents any communication between wireless devices.

    Hello

1 are you getting this error when trying to install the drivers for the printer from the CD?

    2. what exactly is the problem that you are facing with the printer?

This problem may occur if the files on the CD are corrupt. You can download the current "Full Feature" software and drivers from the HP Web site at: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&lc=en&product=3752456&

How can I get Windows 7 Pro 32 bit automatically connect to drives mapped to the startup?

    Hello

It should connect as much as the other computers with their car are on the account users are properly configured, security passwords are defined and firewall do not block.

If the system is only yours and there is no need of local network security, enable the guest account on all computers, give them all the permissions and there will be less to worry about connection mapped, but local drive without security.

PS Ce preceding is based on cable connections. If the connections are wireless, it's another story.

Due to the maturity of the wireless adapter and their support through the OS, automatic connection could not occur.

Wireless is great, but most of us try to sneak out of it the uses it was not designed for.

I just got a new Macbook Pro when I reinstall my CS4 Master Collection everything works fine, but I can't get Acrobat 9 pro to get the serial key

OK, it worked. Someone suggested dismantling drives all connected. In fact, no luck. But while all the disks were taken out and closed all applications I uninstalled Acrobat Pro using the application in the folder Acrobat Pro. Then I went back to the installer and have already told him only to install Acrobat Pro. Once done everything first, I opened Acrobat Pro. He asked to install some extras and I said no a few times. It opened and worked on a test pdf. With her still open I tried to open Acrobat Distiller. He did not ask a serial number, but I wanted to just install an extra. I said no again and it finished opening. Wanted to be my default PDF application but an extract which is better so I said, person not the last time. He has worked to create a perfect pdf of an Illustrator EPS. Hope this works for you also.

    Hi Linda@12oaks,

If you have purchased Acrobat, you would activate the software using the key series (if license) or Adobe ID (if subscription).

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 A910 Premium will not send fax from computer with Windows 8

My printer was working fine on Win XP and I could fax directly from the printer or the computer.  I installed 8 32-bit Windows (I am under an older system that works very well for everything that I use it for - thank you very much) and downloaded the latest driver for HP large & software for Win 8 32-bit.  Everything works perfectly, except for the computer fax.

If I run the test of the printer fax, the fax test PASSES.  If I run the test fax from the computer, the fax test PASSES.

If I put documents into the feeder of the printer and use the features of fax printer, it Fax beautifully.

It's only when I fax from the computer, the screen appears with the status of the queue, then state turns to cancelled each time.

He has always worked on Win XP.

The FAX and FAX printer driver for the printer-FAX appeared in Control Panel automatically when I installed the HP drivers/software update.  All the properties of the FAX printer seem good.

I tried a usb connection and a connection of network ethernet, with the same results.

Printing and scanning all work fine.  I really like this printer and I love it even more if I could figure out how to get by fax a document from the computer.

When I say fax from the computer, I mean opening a document saying print, select Fax - HP Officejet Pro 8500 A910, filling the page of information by fax, selecting my cover page options and press send fax.  Everything like I used to do it before I upgraded to Win 8.  When I hit send fax, it is when I get the popup that fax is in queue, then it goes to cancelled.  No error codes are displayed, no clue as to why, no nothing.  If I print the document and put it in the printer tray I can using display printer fax without problem.

    Very weird.

Well, I spoke with some of the engineers, and they suggested next steps. First of all, here's a thread on a forum of MS on the removal of an alternate driver.

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc730875.aspx

Another thing to note is that in Win8, you can easily access the command prompt by pressing the windows key and typing "command prompt".

In addition, I will PM you walk a few others on the removal of the remains of the software from the back-end of your PC. To be sure, you will need TO follow these instructions to the letter.

Do these two things and let me know what happens after the installation of the printer again since the direct download link I already provided above.

Let me know and have a great day!

    Hello

From the file Explorer, type %appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup, and then press ENTER.

Remove the HP status and the alert shortcut and reboot.

Hello @KentHP and welcome to the Forums of HP, I hope you enjoy your experience!

I see that you are looking for in your computer's fax options.  I would like to help.

It appears that there may have been a recent software update.

I would say uninstalling the software of the printer.

Once it is uninstalled, I suggest you put your system in clean boot mode in the configuration of Microsoft.  You can do this by following this document: How to perform a clean boot in Windows.

Once the computer is in clean boot mode, I would suggest to reinstall the HP printer install wizard for Windows.

Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting operations. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!
