  This problem occurs because Windows Vista does not support the installation of kernel-mode printer drivers. Windows Vista only supports installing user mode printer drivers.

  To work around this problem, try to get and install a printer driver as a user on the Windows NT 4.0 computer. If you can not get the particular user mode printer driver, try to get a driver printer in user mode compatible with the kernel mode printer driver which is hosted on the Windows NT 4.0 computer.   I tried the support of epson who tried intsalling the pilot from other web sources, bottom of dissabling starting programs, etc.
