  Maybe you were referring to the implementation of a PHP application. My understanding is that most web hosting companies have installed PHP and you simply upload your .php files to your site.

  My guess is that you have a damaged or invalid certificate entry OS X KeyChain, but to directly answer this question, I would say that consider you something like HTTPS Everywhere. Note, it is not available for Safari. It is available directly through the Google Chrome browser extensions.

  I found and deleted the server where I got the exception.

  AHA. It's very good to know. I missed it when granting the exception today.

  The exception I gave (and now deleted) today wasn't really a risky site. I know the owner. Just a little problem in their relationship.
