"I tried the compatibility settings, each and EVERY single one of them, but it just doesn't work.
They rarely do and should not be needed with this game anyway.
I have not had any problems, but apparently many (on these forums, KOTR 2 seems to have more people with problems than the original).
-Don't you try to install in a default location (custom or Advanced installation)?
Try to make a new folder in the C:\ drive and you install games to subfolders in
which. If your HARD drive has another (other than a "recovery" partition) partition that is
even better.

Games often updated which are called patches. Patches fix bugs that were in the game when released.
As the post on the above topic mentions the patch is used only with the original version of the game like the version reissue of a disc at retail, or the Steam version is already patched.

It's always possible your laptop, the model and specifications of the unknown system
may not be compatible with the game.

    Hello syb1987,

As Meghmala mentioned, the game is listed as being fully compatible, however:

    (1) you can try to run the game in different compatibility modes to determine is that they work.

    (2) have you installed XP Mode? Try maybe to install XP Mode and install the game in the virtual environment.

    (3) you can find others on the forums for this game in particular who were lucky in getting the game to properly install and run better.

    Hope this heps

  • Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic 2 does not work

    Problems:

    1. the game begins on the menu and when I click play game it only starts once all 20 and otherwise, a message appears that says that a problem had the game to stop working.

    2. when it works I can only start a new file after like 10 tests.

    3. when I am able to both run the game and a new game, I ask for as long as I want, but if I save AND EXIT, then if I connect again when I try to load the game it loads like 98% and then says that a problem had the game to stop working. This happens as well automatically records and manual saves when you try to load them.

I tried every compatibility mode, but still nothing. Ive also tried to change the texture of the game from the top in the middle which didn't work. • The game is Star Wars: Knights of the old Republic problem

I have a computer Dell Inspron customized for gaming, with Windows Vista, and the so-called "Intel Pentium" or something.

The game is a bit old, but worked well on my laptop and (for anyone how knows the game) I was finally getting the planet dried up and my party was on the Ebon Hawk, we were do cast out and then this girl jedi told me to man the turrets so my character turned to run towards them and the game closes. A message pops up and continues to appear whenever I try to launch the game, it says ' conflict with Emulator software detected disk"it is also a website with her name, but that was no help."
I restarted my computer. I closed shuts down for the night to restart itself, but it did not work. I have cleaned the disc and he went out, then restarted, but nothing seems to work. Anyone got any ideas?

Ehhh nothing more precisely than the Iso Emulator software, but there are a lot of things that could be the culprit.

Maybe the software backs up Dell.

Use msconfig to disable all startup items temporarily and then restart your computer. See if it works fine now. If so, you can reactivate the items one by one while restarting between each to test what is the culprit.

    Could also be the Norton.

  • Is it possible to run Star Wars: riders of the old Republic (SWKotor 1) without problem?

    Hello

I use VMPlayer. Among other things, I would like to play the classic RPG Star Wars: Old Republic (SWKotor 1) riders. I've installed and am able to start with the video and sound. But when I run the game for real, there are many graphic errors (texture?), what makes little unplayable. When I do the scan of material which is accompanied by the game, he spends everything except the video test. He says that I do not meet the recommended specifications (warning yellow but not red) and I use VMware SVGA II 256 MB instead of the best suited is ATI Radeon 9200 or higher or NVidia GeForce4 Ti or better.

The host is the Guest Windows XP Pro SP3 and Win7 64 bit.

Help would be very appreciated, even without a reward ;-)

(see the discussion of Fusion pay $ 1000 to anyone who can get working on VMWare Workstation SWTOR - but please do not confuse, they speak a different game)

    Thx a lot

It is sometimes possible to play games inside a virtual machine. "VMware SVGA II or 3D" is a software based on GPU without any access to the GPU hardware inside your host. I would try to install DirectX 9.0 c and hope for the best.
