Hi rubenespinas,

1. not the problem only occurs when you use media center or Media Player files?
2. you have made no changes to the computer before the broadcast took place?
3. do you get an error message?

I have a new Toshiba C650 laptop, and he says that I can not read the dvd on it except that I have installed a new driver. Is this true?

    Hi Bill,

To be honest, this sounds ridiculous but if you get a message, I suppose it could be possible even if I find it incredible.  Do you have it in a (local or online) retail store or Toshiba?  By any chance did you upgrade from the DVD player when buying (where they may have accidentally neglected to update the drivers of the drive that was originally installed)?

As it is new, Toshiba should help you with this.  Here's the contact page: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/navShell.jsp?cf=su_contact&pf=true.  Give them everything they need to prove that buy you it and it should be under warranty and then give them the message Word for Word, that you have found.  They should be able to help you.  They can, for some reason I don't know, you don't need to help or guide you through a new driver installation.  I ask for a clear explanation of why this is necessary on a new computer and, if you are not satisfied with the response, ask them to consider that all the faulty computer and replace it.  Even if they won't, he needs the get them less motivated to solve your problem.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Blu Ray player can not read the DVD. It can read CDs and Blu Ray discs, but not DVD.

Recently, I lost my hard drive.  Dell sent me a new disk with the drivers that came with the computer.

I just noticed that my Blu Ray player is no longer playing DVDs.  I don't know if the hard drive crash has nothing to do with it, or if it's a coincidence.

Windows says I have the latest driver.

The computer is a Dell XPS 8300.   Is the Blu Ray player: bd - re bh30n hl-dt-st.

The player has not served almost at all.   I read that there are the eyes for the Blu Ray vs DVD, then maybe the DVD part has failed.

I'm always suspect that miss me a piece of software or a changed value.

    Any ideas?

For all of you, the poor souls who shared my problem on the internet, I got beyond that.   Even though all said I had the latest driver, I found someone who said that they had downloaded a newer driver form the LG site and it fixed the problem.   Well, BH30N wasn't a model # on the LG site, but I found here: http://www.firmwarehq.com/download_1703-file_BH30N-A103.zip.html Norton said it was OK, I clicked on the EXE file, he said that he had me upgrade from A101 to A103 and suggested that I reload.   Once I did, my Blu Ray player will read the DVD fine.

  • Re: Satellite L300 - Media palyer can not read the DVD

    Can anyone help?

Have just implemented a L300 and everything was going well until I decided to try a prerecorded DVD. All I get is a message that reads... Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because no compatible decoder is not installed on your computer. I do have it connected to the internet if that makes a difference.

Can someone explain what it means all and what to do. All new at this game!

    Thank you

    Hello

I think that you need to install a pack of codecs for Windows media player play DVD. I have good experiences with K-Lite Mega Codec Pack. Use Google to find, it contains the essential codecs for Windows Media Player.

But let me give you a piece of advice: try to play DVDs with another room. I always use the VLC media player because it can play audio and video files more. In addition he s freeware and in my opinion more quickly as media player.
    Check it!

    Welcome them

  • Continuous freezing, can't read the DVD

    Hello

I have a Pavilion ze 1230 and constantly have probems freezing. Gel means the cursor won't no matter how much I click or how long wait. I cut the power to solve. But sometimes it's nice for a long time, and it happens sometimes literally every two or three minutes.

Another problem is that I can not watch videos online, so I tried to watch by inserting a DVD, but I can't do it either. The audio is generally OK, but the video is just a series of still images, and then soon it freezes completely.

I brought this to a guy tech, a few months ago and he re-installed Windows, and when I got home, all the same problems were there.

I have XP Professional pack 3 and only use my laptop at home, connected computer with the adapter.

You can use the cooling if the laptop gets hot or if the fan is noisy.

Otherwise I would highly recommend you upgrade memory (hard drive seems ok).

    Hi mate

I think that the portable player s (optical disc) DVD region is set in the United States and therefore you can not read the DVD released for the European market.

To resolve this problem, you must change the option of DVD region 2 region.

    My computer-> drive CD / DVD-> properties-> Hardware tab-> choose the CD drive / DVD-> properties-> DVD region

Notes; You can change this settings ONLY 4 times. After that the parameters is no longer editable.

I bought windows 7 in a store, but my windows xp cannot read the dvd. can I download 7 and use the product key, rather than buy it again? I bought an old compaq desktop computer, and I want to update.

It's probably too late because you have unsealed the package, but as you have relatively minor glitch of the material do not have a DVD player, did you use the (free) Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to determine whether your computer hardware is capable of running Windows 7?
