How can I hide the addresses in my list of contacts in specific group when I send an e-mail to this group? I don't want to have all email addresses
made available to everyone in the group.
Thank you!
You use Windows Mail? The bold at the bottom is the party concerned. You can also create groups if you send e-mail to the same people often. You can create a single group name (or alias) to use when sending a message to several contacts at the same time. Just create a group name and add individual contacts to the group. Then just type the name of the group in the box for when you send mail.1. in the address book, select the folder in which you want to create a group. Click New in the toolbar, and then click New Group.
2. the Properties dialog box opens. In the group name box, type the name of the group.
3. There are several ways to add people to the Group:
a. to add a person from your address book list, click Select members, and then click a name in the address book list.
(b) to add a person directly to the group without adding the name to your address book, type the person's name and e-mail address at the bottom of the Properties dialog box and then click Add.
to add a person to both the Group and your address book, click New Contact and enter the appropriate information.
(d) to use a directory service, click Select members, and then click search. Select a directory service in the drop-down list at the end of the text box. After finding and selecting an address, it is automatically added to your address book.
4. Repeat for each addition until your group is defined.Notea. to view a list of your groups separately from the list of address book in the address book on the view menu, make sure that folders and groups is selected.
b. you can create multiple groups, and contacts can belong to several groups. If you want to send to a group without addresses are displayed for each recipient, open the address book and make a new entry. Enter the name of the group in the area of the display, but use your address. (Some Internet service providers require a legitimate address in the line to and recipients will know it's from the Group).Click on the button to. Enter the name of the group using your address. Enter the group in the BCC field.

Group addresses not added when sending of e-mail - name of group only
Just helping a friend use Thunderbird on a new PC with Win 7 Prof Previously used Outlook Express on Win XP.
Downloaded latest version of Thunderbird. Old as any wab file suggested using "morefunctionsfor...". ». The old address book (full) has been imported correctly a new Thunderbird addressbook. It contained several groups. Each one is properly listed under the new address book, and they also appear in the new address book. By clicking on any group correctly displays the list of addresses for this group.
However, if one selects a group and send an e-mail to this group ONLY the group name is displayed in the field and the email fails to send. Looking at the contents of the address field shows only the name of the Group and NOT addresses are included.
Thank you
I just discovered by accident how to circumvent the problem of group.
1. open Thunderbird AddressBook;
2. Select the desired group;
3. click on the button "Write" address book. This will open a message window with all members of the group listed as beneficiaries.

I have Outlook express 6 and I can't receive emails. I press on send and receive and it is stuck on 46 555 emails. How can I solve this problem. IM only a beginner.
If it downloads message #46 and then stops, message #47 is damaged or too big. Log in to your Webmail site server and delete the problem message.

messages disappeared from Outlook Express (Inbox) e-mail account
Most of my messages "Inbox floder" has simply disappeared from my Outlook Express email. There were some files with images on them that I really want to come back. I want to know if I can get back them on my PC and if so, how could I do.
Two reasons the most common for what you describe is disruption of the compacting process, (never touch anything until it's finished), or bloated folders. More about that below.
Why OE insists on compacting folders when I close it? :
http://www.insideoe.com/FAQs/why.htm#compactWhy mail disappears:
http://www.insideoe.com/problems/bugs.htm#mailgoneAbout file Corruption:
http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/IE/community/columns/filecorruption.mspxRecovery tools:
If you use XP/SP2 or SP3, and are fully patched, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.
To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.
Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.
In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.
Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.
Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.
First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.
If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.
If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.
If you have not then bak copies of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin:DBXpress run in extract disc Mode is the best chance to recover messages:
http://www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/default.aspxAnd see:
http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#4A general warning to help avoid this in the future:
Do not archive mail in default OE folders. They finally are damaged. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.
Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:

original title: vision problems. How can I get bigger fonts in incoming messages on Outlook Express? How can I change the background color in Outlook Express for a light blue to improve my vision of the messages.e
I have problems with my vision. How the larger font for messages in Outlook Express so that I can see them? Also how can I make the background is easier on my eyes. As a light blue or something. Thank you.
You can change the font size of incoming emails by going to the Tools menu in Outlook Express and selecting Options. Open the read tab, and then click the fonts option. In the fonts window, click on font size and make your selection. I always click OK, then apply and OK to be sure change stick. You may close OE and then reopen it for the change to take effect.
I don't know of any way to change the background color of the e-mails received. I'm sure someone will have an answer for this procedure.
