I cannot uninstall Quick Time

After installing Picasa to send photos over the internet, Picasa says: Picasa was a problem loading a specific file in my pictures.  So, I left and tried to delete that file but got a new message: cannot be deleted because it is used by another person or program.  This led me to suspect QuickTime that is installed on my Windows XP desktop system.  Then I tried to uninstall Quick Time, but got the following: a control panel or program that uses Quick Time seems to be running.  I can't stay in QT running.  Can you help me?

Hi L. Svoboda,

Method 1:

Try to check in Manager tasks, if any process of QuickTime is running.

If you find any process running, try to complete the process and try to uninstall the QuickTime.

To do this:

a. right click on the Task Manager and select the taskbar.
b. click the process tab.
c. click on the QuickTime process.
d. click on end process.

Now try to uninstall the QuickTime and check out them.

You also, try pressing ctrl + alt + del or ctrl + shift + ESC on the keyboard to open the Task Manager.

Method 2:

Try uninstalling Quicktime by putting the computer in clean boot mode.

  • Quick Time Player does not work in El Capitan

Now Quick Time Player does not work properly.  When I click to use it, the only thing it allows me to do is 'click to drag', while he was recording a screen, buttons disappear and the only way I can stop the recording is to go to the menu screen and exit the Quick Time Player.  So annoying!

It also is not allowing me to change.  When I try to edit my videos and then save it, it says that it cannot save the file.

None of this makes no sense at all.

You have a bad installation, I believe. QT works fine on my systems.

El Capitan works very well. Sometimes, it is not for lack of the tennis racket. Review download and reinstall OS X El Capitan 10.11.4 Combo Update.

  • I can not using F8 safe mode, so I can not get access to my admin account and therefore cannot uninstall my program

original title: administrator, f8 safe mode access

My computer problem begins with not being about to uninstall a program. I need administrator permissions. I am the administrator with a password. I'm not invited to give a. Nothng happens when I press a button with a shield on it. I received another message that tells me "unable to open the access control editor: the system cannot find the specified file. I found the instructions online to restart the computer (by pressing the F8 key) in safe mode. Once in safe mode I can essentially take possession of the C drive and reset admin ACCT. in SUMMARY, I can't have with using F8 safe mode (I tried once bagillion) so I can not get access to my admin account and therefore cannot uninstall my program. Can anyone help?

I don't know anything about "reset admin account" but here are two things that may help the case to start in safe mode.  First, enter the mode safe mode with f8 key is a matter of time.  On my computer (Dell) during the boot process, I'm going to get a screen send me options of start of f2 and f12, which is to enter the BIOS.  I can start hitting key f8 then but you will in safe mode unless I'm hit immediately after that the screen with f2 & f12 choices goes.  I just hit several times for a few moments at this time.

The error comes from MS Windows Live Photo Gallery.

First thing to do is to re-download and re-install from MS and see if this corrects the error. Here is the linkhttp://download.live.com/photogallery

If this does not work, remove windows live photos from your PC and the problem should be fixed.

Another thing, you might want to try uninstalling quicktime and reinstall quick time, this might work for some people.

This bug seems to occur only on windows 7 64 x only opertating systems and I guess that this bug will be corrected in the next service pack of windows. »
