I changed the security settings on my file by mistake
While in the setting I change users on refuse all. I apply the setting in some assumption that my Admin account wouldn't be touched, to my misfortune, I was wrong, I have several important files in there and it is very very important for me to access it again as soon as possible

Rather than ignore the warning, you must use a "positive" authorisation scheme: grant access only to users that you want to allow. The rest will be unable to access the folder.
You write that it is important for you to access: you have a good system backup to register in case things go really wrong? If you have a disk crash, then you lose the lot in an instance. I had one of these last week.
To repair the damage, follow these steps:
(to seize possession of the c:\users folder)
cacls c:\users\priyal /t /g administrators: F system: F priyal:f
(to give full access to florian account in this folder.) "Are answer Yes when asked you sure?")

Tried to change the security settings in XP on some of my documents, now I can't access
original title: describe the security settings
Hi, I stupidly tried to change security settings on some of my documents, now I can't access then more... don't know what I've donebut would be able to open them again...
the files are stored on an external hard drive, but I always use the original laptop running xp... He is using that file names are now show green...
Thanks for any help you can give.

If the file names displayed in green, an indication that the files are encrypted using the Encrypting File System (EFS) in XP Pro. The encryption key to decrypt these files is stored in your certificate store on the machine/user name that originally encrypted the files. To access these files, you must connect to the original machine which them encrypted and access it using the same user. If the encryption certificate is lost or damaged, then you permanently lose access to your files. For more information, start with this article:
"Best practices for EFS file system.
<>http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/223316 >As you have discovered, EFS can be dangerous. Use it carefully and always save your article above encryption certificate.

How to change the security settings on a wireless network
I would change the existing network security settings to WPA2, AES, or at least from TKIP AES.
I am familiar with access via browser to the router and how to change the settings of the router.
My question is how to make this as painless as possible for the network. Step by step would be great
First of all, I guess I have to change the settings of the router using the computer running Easy Link Advisor?
Do I then have to disconnect/reconnect this computer?
Do I have to unplug all the other computers and then sign in again with the update settings?
The change of security settings affect my print server? If so, I put up from scratch in ELA?
For the record, I have a WRT 300N and the print server is a 54g.
Anyone who reads this can also focus on recent news. Maybe not a big deal, but a WPA/TKIP vulnerabilities has been identified.
Thanks in advance to anyone who responds.
If you change the router's wireless security settings, it will affect all devices that connect wireless to the router. To change the settings, simply set until you want on the web interface of the router. Save the settings. You need not link to that Advisor. Direct access to the web interface of the router is sufficient and preferable.
All devices configured to connect to this network should ask if they connect more. It depends on type of what you had before. If you have not used WPA2 or WPA before having to ask for the password. If you used the WPA or WPA2 with the same password that they cannot even ask the password. How it works in detail with a specific wireless device depends on the device and the software you use. Some devices may require you to first remove the network wireless in the list of "preferred networks" and then reconnect.
Check the manual of the print server how to configure for the new security settings. You should be able to reconfigure the print server through a web interface. First, it is probably best to change the settings on the print server and then make the change on the router. Otherwise, you may have a hard time, connection to the print server to make the change. In addition, depending on how old the print server is that it cannot even support WPA2 and AES.

As an administrator I am denied access to change the security settings.
I think I'm to be hacked through my ex (who is computer savvy and we are involved in a bitter custody case), all my work is done on my computer... I am the administrator and the only user on Windows Vista Home Premium settings to activate the logs and monitoring are disabled and I am denied access to edit my affidavits and/or modify the security settings. I can't afford to take service. How can I confirm these possible threats?
Ideas:
- You have problems with programs
- Error messages
- Recent changes to your computer
- What you have already tried to solve the problem
Hello Momz4Justice,
Allows you to ensure that your system is indeed clean, see below:
Try to start your system in safe mode:
- Restart your computer if it is running.
- Press and hold the F8 key for 3 seconds after your computer powers initially on.
- Once you see the Advanced Boot Options menu (or beep) you can stop.
- Up/down arrow keys to highlight your selection.
- Select Mode safe mode with networking and press ENTER.
- You should see drivers loading, it may take a few moments.
- You should then be at the Welcome screen.
- Connect to your computer using an account with administrator privileges.
- Now, you download (free) MalwareBytes from here: http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?tag=mncol install, Update then do a scan of your system in safe mode, to ensure that it is indeed clean! Once the scan done remove anything it finds. Simply restart your PC to see if your problem has been resolved!
Hope this helps you. Let us know anyway. Make it a great day!

Change the security settings?
Hello
I have created several documents and converted to PDF. I just upgraded to v.9 and I'm having problems. I was previously using v.6 and could modify the security settings so that a person who views my doc had to know the password in order to print. I'm unable to change these settings in v.9. How can I get a document so that it does not print without a password that I select?
Also, is it possible to create a link? I used to create links all the time in v.6 but may not understand in v.9
Thanks for the help!
It is possible with Adobe Acrobat.

How to change the security settings for a particular Web site?
I'm big fan of airplanes. There is a website: www.passur.com, which gives real-time traffic on some of the airports we. For example, the link: www4.passur.com/jfk gives all traffic inbound and outbound to and from JFK airport. This page requires Java. I installed it and everything was OK. But for some time - 2-3 months - whenever I try to open and watch the traffic there is message saying 'blocked application' and in the message from the Inbox is written - on the first line "name: has '; on the second line ' location: www4.passur.com'; " on the third (last) row is written "your security settings have blocked an application not approved to run." and on the bottom right there is a button 'OK '. The question is to know how to unlock it and display the Web page. Thanks in advance.
There has been a change in the Java security settings, see:

If you visit a Web site and then a possible solution is to add the URL to the list of Site of Java Exceptions, see:

How can I change the security settings for download?
Im trying to download a new version of Norton Antivirus, and whenever I try to download it, I get a warning message stating, your current security settings do not allow this program to download. How do I change this setting? I tried, but I am extremely computer illiterate... Im running Windows Vista on a laptop Toshiba Satellite older origin. Thanks for any help!
Hello
1. what browser you use to download a newer version of the Norton Antivirus software?
2 have you uninstalled the old version of Norton anti-virus as this can cause conflicts? If you use Internet Explorer to download a newer version, I'd add the download site to the Trusted Sites Zone, but do this only if you are certain that the site is secure and the downloads are clean. Sites are allowed to make more confidence within your browser without your explicit permission.
