I continue to be asked to install the next update (KB2538242) why?
I'm still invited to install the following update updated security for Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package (KB2538242), even if I installed it over 20 times last week. Why?
I'm on Windows Vista with service pack 2 installed.

I try to install the following update on a windows 8 system, KB3008273, kB3043812, KB3087039 and KB3078601.
None of them will not properly install example KB3087039 will produce a 80073712 error message code that the other just off automatically install during the restart process.
Does anyone has ideas to solve these problems?
You can download the manual update of the catalogue and check if it installs. It is perhaps a corruption of backend.

I received the KB2463332 update but I tried several times and it will not install on my PC. This means that I constantly update notification.

The update I tried to install is SSID family ROM 2 B 18. The number of sofpaq is SP70370. Version 80.08Ap. It installs, but there is a short restart and then the red exclamation mark appears in the wizard again. Any help would be appreciated.
I open the support Wizard and clicked on "check for updates now". This constraint to note that the BIOS is current and the new list of necessary updates was empty.
At the risk of sounding really stupid... I dare ask this question: Why am I being asked to install the xp updates in my vista machine? Updates are automatically presented, and the installation failed... After reviewing the updates that failed to install I noticed that they were all updates of security for XP and not vista.
Thanks for your help!
Please contact the Forum of Microsoft Vista.
I read the question and by doing some research on this subject I think the update that you mentioned (kb 917150) and not (17150 kb).
I see that the update (kb 917150) is an update of security for office XP. This is an update to the office application and not for the operating system. We need to check two things:
1 > we do not have Microsoft office Xp installed in the system.
2 > we did an update from XP to Vista.
If 1 is true then please download the stand-alone office Xp update pack and install it. If the 2nd case is true then let me know because we have a different approach to solve the problem.
The link for the standalone pack for office Xp:
Please do not respond and so I can help again the resolution does not help.

Windows Update will continue to install the same update again and again for about a week now. He always says the update was installed successfully but in 2 minutes windows update wants to install the same update again. I went directly to Microsoft to check updates and it shows me who need the update even again in the history of the update, it shows the update installed successfully at least 10 times. I have installed the latest updates (02/27/10) and when I open sony vegas to edit some files avi... they were offline... when I tried to read with windows media player it says format not supported... before when I played these files, they would not have to synchronize audio... it never happened with my other computer with Vista... system restore solved the problem of format not supported... but so far has caused this problem? and what about the problems of synchronization? the files seem to sync when played with the hp program...Hi derlonewolf,Because you performed a System Restore you would not be able to determine which update problem from occurring. You will have to wait for the update to your computer to determine the update that caused the problem. The update does not necessarily cause the problem to occur again. However, you can view the history of updates to updating history.1. open the control panel (all items view), and click the Windows Update icon.2. click on the link to view update history.3. to view the details of a single Windows Update-(A) select and right-click on a Windows Update list, and then click details.(B) click on close when finished. As far as the question of timing is concerened, you can scan SFC on your computer and check if the problem persists.
Steps to perform a scan SFC:1. Click Start, click principally made programs, accessories, right-click Guest, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow2. type the following command and press ENTER:sfc/scannow[The command sfc /scannow. analysis of all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.]A message appears indicating that "the system scan will start. Be patient, because the analysis may take some time3. If all the files require that a SFC replace will replace them. You may be asked to insert your Win7 DVD for this process to continue4. If all goes although you should, after the analysis, see the following message "Windows resource protection not found any breach of integrity.5. once the scan is finished, close the command prompt window, restart the computer and check.Check the link below for further guidance on scan SFC - mentioned
You can also make manual updates instead of automatic updates and then see what are updates will be installed on the computer.

After several years, my laptop with Windows XP does not install the automatic updates, giving only a mistake:

Everything works OK.
Thanks for your help
Everything works OK.
It seems that it is not... Why Dutch? You use or have the corresponding language version installed?
Free translation of message:
"An error occurred during the copy of the file ntoskrnl.exe
Cannot copy file to destination... »
Please note that ntoskrnl.exe is a process in the cycle of the initial startup on your computer program.
Try to load your "last known good configuration".
The issue is also known to be caused by a short circuit in the ground cable into the keyboard cable. Make sure that it is not the cause of your error by replacing the keyboard with another keyboard or just disconnect the keyboard from the computer. You can also look at your function "Add or remove programs" If KB2686509 <> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2686509 > is installed. Install manually if it is not.
If the above doesn't help, try using the Sfc.exe tool - see here > http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310747
Or run the Chkdsk tool - see here > http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265
If still no luck, you may need to restore the file ntoskrnl. exe as follows:
1 - insert the Microsoft Windows XP CD. Note: If you have a recovery CD or a restore CD and not a Microsoft Windows XP CD is probably the procedure below does not solve your problem.
2 - restart the computer and that the computer starts, you should see a message press any key to boot from the CD. When you see this message press any key.
3. - in the Microsoft Windows XP setup menu, press the R key to enter the recovery console.
4 - Select the operating system you want to set and enter the administrator password.
5 - type expand d:\i386\ntoskrnl.ex_ c:\windows\system32
6. - you will be asked if you want to overwrite the file, type Y and press enter to replace the file.
7 - type exit to restart the computer.
Hope this helps - good luck!
The next day, I installed the Windows updates, I turned on my laptop a short Vaio splash screen is displayed and a black screen comes up saying that "Windows couldn't start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. "I don't have the installation disc of Windows that it suggests to use the software is preinstalled. The safe mode and last known good configuration and the start windows normally get Windows running. It is simply scrolls a list of code and ends with a line crcdisk.sys, goes to a blue screen for less than a second, then goes to black screen. All the help I could get to address this issue would be greatly appreciated.
If Safe Mode doesn't work no and you don't have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a startup repair or a system restore:
Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.
It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.
You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
How to get Vista recovery Media or the Vista recovery Partition on your computer back to factory settings.
There is no Vista free download legal available.
Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.
Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.
In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
See you soon.
