Re: Main administrator account appearing not
If you can connect with the new account that you created (which should be an administrator account as well) then go directly to step 2 below.

I suppose that you use the administrator account as your main account (bad
idea anyway) and that means that you probably have Windows XP Professional * and *.
somehow enabled the guest account or create a new account - or
installed some patches that created a new account - as .NET.

I guess also that (since you say "appear") you also use the 'Welcome' screen
opening of session instead of the classic logon.

(1) restart the system. Press CTRL + ALT + DELETE twice on home
screen. Type in "Administrator" (without the quotes) as the username
and do not put in any password and logon. Work?

(2) or follow the instructions below to add the administrator account of
the Welcome screen * or * download/use TweakUI to choose that is visible on
the screen of welcome and even set automatic logon if you want.

How to add a user to the Welcome screen logon page:
------
1. start regedit.exe (start--> RUN--> REGEDIT--> OK)
2. navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserLis t.

3. on the Edit menu, select new, DWORD value.
4. type administrator as the name, and then press ENTER.
5 double-click on the new value it the value 1 and click OK.
6. close the registry editor.

The administrator account will now appear on the Welcome screen. You can use
These same steps to control other accounts listed on the welcome
screen. The value of the registry value to 1 to display an account or account 0 for
hide an account. For example, to hide the user Bob account, add a value
named "Bob" in the registry key identified in step 2, then set the value to 0.

You can do the above with the Microsoft TweakUI PowerToy.

control userpasswords2 method:
(1) go to the Start Menu and run the box.
(2) type the following:

Control userpasswords2

Now click on OK
(3) in the new Windows that appears select the account you want to make the
opening main session.
Now, uncheck the box "users must enter a user name and password... ».
(4) hit apply and a dialog box will appear asking you to confirm the selected
user password.
Click OK when you have finished...

I hope this gets you where you are wanting to be.

It's a * good * thing in the field of the user to:
(1) have strong passwords.
(2) have more than one account to administrator (with strong passwords).

I know - you are the "only one who lives there, the only person who uses your.

  • Cannot create a new administrator user account

Hi, I have a bit of a dilemma. I have a laptop which has Vista from Microsoft and I wanted to create a new administrator account, but I don't have access to the former administrator account. I know that you can not help me with recovery of lost password for the old account, but is there a way to always create a new administrator account without having to restore my computer?

    Hi Chuckter,

Without an administrator account, you will not be able to create a new one.

There are 3rd party software that claims to be able to reset the password on the administrator accounts or create a new account on a boot cd.  Search in your favorite search engine 'vista password' should yield interesting results.  Please scan of tools that you can download for infections by the virus.

Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk...

  • Phone suggested that transfer onto the sd card, now I can't access my applications

So, as the title says my phone made me know I was running low on space and has suggested that transfer data on sd card, I clicked it and it gave me check boxes for pictures, music, applications etc.

I thought oh wow, I didn't know I could move applications to the sd card, but the phone says I can so cool, I'll do it.

And now most of my apps is plan icons or grayed out copies of the icon of the original application and all have a symbol of card sd on them, if I try to click on one of them, it says that the application is on the sd card, but here's the thing, I thought maybe OK that's not a big deal that I just have to remove all applications and reinstall on 4gbs of apps again embarrassing and annoying but not a huge problem, however if I go to apps then on sd card, they aren't there, I went on all apps, parades of each one and guess what, they ain't there no more, so I went in the sd card to see if they were there and not some applications so I can't even delete them the same SD so they are clearly too much space.

The worst in all this, is that the phone has suggested I move to the sd card, I na not use a third-party application or attempt to settle myself, so what do I do?

I didn't lose everything on my memory card and format her, have to factory reset the phone, because with my knowledge on smartphones which seems to be the only two options, as you can tell I'm extremely bothered by this, I have not the time nor the patience to rebuild my phone because HE suggested I move applications to the sd card.

    @1992jc

If you move applications to the SD card, then deleted/removed SD card apps will be removed, you will need to re - download apps > move them to the SD card > to remove the blue icon of the SD card.

  • program user accounts: administrator user account

I created a user not knowing account is the user account administrative and when a phone rang I confirmed the password without remembering what I wrote, it "administrator user account" to change / remove it completely. Because I can't even open the computer programs, it blocks everything.  (b) I've recreated a 'Standard user' account, but it doesn't have the same functions.  PLEASE HELP ITS URGENT

You can change your password to something that you remember another administrative user account. If you had only an administrative user account and you have forgotten the password, all is not lost. You can then follow the general recommendations for implementing user accounts in Vista that I will give you at the end of this post.

All this requires a certain level of computer skills. You know better and that take the machine to a competent local computer tech (not a type of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad place) is the best solution for you.

If you have an installation of Vista DVD (not a recovery DVDs), you can start the system with it. Select the default language, then select "repair your computer". Then select "Command Prompt". At the command prompt, type:

NET user administrator / Active: Yes [press Enter]
NET user [insert here the name of your user account] [insert the new password of user as 1234 here] [press Enter]

[Note: do not enter the brackets!]

Remove the installation DVD and restart the computer. Now, you will be able to connect to your user account by using the password that you set; for example, 1234.

If you do not have a Vista installation DVD (only have a recovery disk), the computer mftr. may have given you the option to repair Vista (not a system recovery!) system in the diagnostic menu. This menu of diagnosis is the same one where you can choose Safe Mode. Get to this menu by repeatedly pressing the F8 key as the computer starts. If you do not have this option, you can make a bootable Vista file repair DVD in this link:

    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/

Note: All the Neosmart recovery disk downloads are torrent files. There is a good explanation of the torrent on the site Web of Neosmart files. You will need a torrent as muTorrent client to get the files. Torrent client will download the .iso file with which to create the bootable DVD. You will need to use third-party burning software such as Nero, Roxio or the free ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com ) to burn the image .iso image file, not in the form of data.

Once you have fixed things, log on to the additional administrative account you will be made by the suggestions below and disable the administrator account integrated yet for security reasons:

Start Orb > Search box > type: cmd
When cmd appears in the above results, right-click and choose "Run as Administrator" [OK]. Now, you will get the command prompt. At the command prompt, type:

NET user administrator / active: No. [Enter]

    Exit the command prompt.

General recommendations for creating users in Vista:

You absolutely don't want to have only one user account. As XP and all the other modern operating systems, Vista is a multi-user system with integrated system of accounts as default Administrator and comments. These accounts should be left alone because they are part of the structure of the operating system.

In particular, you do not want one account user with administrative privileges on Vista because the administrator account integrated (normally only used in emergencies) is disabled by default. If you use as an administrator for your daily work, and this account is corrupt, things will be difficult.  It is not impossible to activate the built-in administrator to rescue things, but there may be more that you want to do. Better not to put you in a bad situation at first.

The user account that is for your daily work must be a Standard user, with the extra administrative user (call it something like 'CompAdmin' or 'Tech' or similar) only it for elevation purposes. As a user Standard is recommended for security reasons and will help protect your computer against infections. After you have created "CompAdmin", connect to it and change your normal user account Standard. Then log on to your regular account.

If you want to go directly to the desktop and ignore the Welcome screen with the icons of the user accounts, you can do this:

Start Orb > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null). MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • Need permissions in Win 7 to take possession of the corrupt administrator (user) account

I have a corrupt administrator user account that is only available in safe mode, at the command prompt.  I created another user account that gives me the Windows interface and I'm now trying to "own the administrator account to copy my files to my new user account."

I am not able to access or change anything from anywhere or management; (Registry, other user accounts, other folders or files, properties or fields etc.) due to the restrictions on my PC.  I tried to use the takeown.exe tool, but I'm not sure what should be entered in the command line.  I read on the parameters to TO, but do not seem to get any results.

Your advice is appreciated... Thank you!

Since you were using the command prompt window when you created the new user, I just assumed you have made using the command:

NET user newuser * / add

where 'newuser' is the name of the new user?

Did you also give this privilege to administrator newuser entering control:

net localgroup administrators newuser / add

    While logged as administrator?

It would be necessary to perform the actions that you are trying to do.

  • No administrator user account.

I put up 2 new accounts of the user in addition to the administrator account when I logged into the admin account to check that everything was working the main administrator account has gone I have tried everything and I am unable to get it back.

It comes to the way Windows works. (This is a feature, not a problem).

Windows allows you to automatically hide the built-in Administrator account when any additional user is created.  The administrator account is still there and you can still sign in it, but to connect on it, you will need to use the classic logon screen.

When the login screen appears with two other users, simply type Ctrl-Alt-Delete twice.  This will bring up the classic login window.  Just type in 'administrator' in the user name box and the password associated (if any) in the password box and you should be able to connect.

FWIW: It is recommended to create a new [third] user with administrator privileges for the time that you need an administrator account and let the built-in account hidden for disaster recovery purposes.

I was using my computer as a default administrator, I did another administrator account but I lost my old account that has gots my data all pls help me as soon as possible

The system hides the built-in Administrator account on Windows XP Home Edition when you create a second administrator account and she is only available for use by visiting Mode safe.  You can copy the profile of the account administrator part of your new account.

Follow the instructions here: to copy a user profile

Note that you can not copy a profile to or from the account that you are currently connected, if you want to copy the user profile to user B, you must be connected with the C & C user the user must have administrator privileges.

I have on my old pc Windows 7?

    Kind regards

    Hi Davy,.

You are the administrator of the account?

As you have tried the default user logon image, create a new user account can help you determine if the problem is related to the corruption of user account.

Otherwise, sign in with the account that has administrative rights and try to change the image.

Create a new user account and check if the problem persists, if the problem does not persist in the new user account, then you can fix the damaged user account.
