    Hi all

I would like to disable the automatic updates and be able to manually check for updates without it becomes a task complicated.

But coming to the House, in a very rural village with a... Let's say "connecting powered-pigeons", automatic updates can become a serious problem for me.

Acrobat has its own settings to update.  Open your preferences and disable the auto update.  I'm no expert, but Acrobat seems to be a strange duck in the world of CC.  Although it is part of the CC, it still seems to work more as a stand-alone product.

  • How to disable the automatic updates of windows and to update on demand

At the same time, I had disabled the automatic updates of windows and updated on demand by opening windows update.  Where is the place to activate and deactivate the automatic updates of windows.

    It worked.  Thank you!

I wasn't able to get automatic updates to download a microsoft windows update.  The fix for microsoft in default mode indicated that he needed to be repaired and that fixed it.  When windows update was used again the update has failed once again.  The fix even that it was then run in aggressive mode and with a recheck has failed to correct the problem.  At each restart, automatic updates took the time to start producing a yellow shield and then pop-up reminders.  So thank you to help us with these questions to disable the automatic updates of windows.

Thanks for posting the results of your efforts, I don't know they will be read and appreciated.

    you have the service disabled?

Click Start > run > type in services.msc box and Microsoft Management Console will be open.

Search for automatic updates. Right-click the line, and then click Properties. In the dialog that opens, make sure Startup Type is automatic. Click on apply. Wait for it. Then click Start under Service status. You will see another pop-up window but it is a progress bar. If the service does not start, you will get an error. Otherwise, you will see wuauserv in the Task Manager. You should also see the yellow shield which shows you download updates. Also check your Windows Firewall and third-party firewall installed on the machine. Another place is the router/modem. You may need your ISP to help with the party.

    3. do you have a free trial Norton or a test of free McAfee [CHOOSE ONE ANSWER] come preinstalled on the computer when you bought it? (No matter if you have never used or activated).

    4. open Add/Remove Programs and make sure that Show updates at the top is checked (and leave it checked); then select the name in the box sort by on the right. Now do scroll down & tell me if ALL the other updates following up-to-date are listed? [1]

  • Disabling the automatic update of Shockwave

I know that with flash, you can create a file mms.cfg under system32, c:\windows\system32\macromed, flash, but I wasn't sure of how to go about disabling the shockwave auto update feature without using the settings on the adobe Web site manager. Has anyone found any information on how to proceed for shockwave?

Thanks in advance for everyone to help.

    Alrighty, I found it.

After digging and ending up on the second page of a google search, I found a post on the embeddable forum under Macromedia Web players Adobe who seems showed me a very simple answer that does not even not worth looking for.

I was puzzled at the fact that the registry under HKLM key was not affecting all features automatic update to Shockwave. In addition, manually turn off the automatic updates, the registry setting was not changed to "n". Curious.

In any case, it turns out that the functionality is under:

    HKCU\Software\Adobe\Shockwave 11\AutoUpdate

    Change (default), "n".

For security measure I also mirrored the same setting in:

    HKCU\Software\Macromedia\Shockwave 10\AutoUpdate

Yes, installing Adobe Shockwave 11 place the entrance to file and register Shockwave 10 in your registry and c:\WINDOWS\System32\macromed\ database after it runs for the first time in a window of IE.

    Hope this helps others.

  • How to disable the automatic updates?  I tried asking chat support and I was told that it was impossible.  I need to disable the updates because my school disables updates on the first day of class, and if my updates at home I will not be able to work bet

I tried asking chat support and I was told that it was impossible.  I need to disable the updates because my school disables updates on the first day of class, and if my updates at home I will be not able to do work between school and home

You can install older versions if you use an older version.  but the newer versions (for example, cc 2015) can always post files to open in cc.

If you want to save a file for cs6 install cs6 at home.

  • Windows makes the automatic update and my settings are only for download.

Windows 7 - I've always had my updates the setting that allows them to download, but I chose to install them.  These past few weeks I've noticed that if I refuse and install these updates that they automatically install themselves.  I like to choose how to upgrade usually one at a time, so if there is a problem I know what update caused it.  But in recent weeks a notice that he has downloaded the updates look bad.  So when a few days where I don't bother updating automatically they settle.  I checked my setting of many times, and my settings are correct.  So why are my rules being ignored?

Once the updates are downloaded, all that is left restarts to install updates

Some updates that don't require not a reboot will probably install

Hardly a way to install an update at the same time as you want too.

I suggest you these parameters personally if install one at a time is your preference

These settings will be updated also exclude recommended to be mixed in the important section, recommended updates cause most of the problems.
