I don't have Windows Media Player!

Hello, a year ago I bought my laptop, HP Pavilion g6, which came with windows 7 Home Premium. When I got the computer he had no Windows Media Player, I searched then downloads or something to get him out, but I couldn't do it. Could you please tell me why I don't have Windows Media Player or how I can get it?

Have you tried this - http://www.intowindows.com/how-to-reinstall-windows-media-player-in-windows-7/

Or what version of W7 do you have? http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=16546 for N or KN varients.

  • Windows Update don't load/Windows Media Player does not start

On XP Home Edition SP3, the last week I not was able to get the Windows Update page to load.  There is no error message, IE8 seems to think that the loading of the page and there's code, but a blank white page in IE8. I discovered this problem after finding that Windows Media Player wouldn't start - again without error message.  I look in Task Manager, the wmplayer.exe process runs for a few seconds, then disappears.

I have run a number of analyses of malware using Avira Free edition (now uninstalled), Spybot S & D, MalwareBytes Antimalware, Windows Defender, and Microsoft Security Essentials with no result or change.

I reset IE8 to its default settings and now find that I can't choose a search engine or view other pages on the Microsoft support site, such as http://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?gprid=assistance--il displays only the banner from the top on a white page. (I write this using Chrome).

Other posts on the forum about the update or Media Player starts does not seem to be on other versions of Windows, and I've not found anything about problems at a time.

    Hi AndyKavanagh,

Windows Media Player does not support playback of the .mp4 file format. You can reproduce .mp4 media files in Windows Media Player when you install the decoders compatible DirectShow MPEG-4 packs.

    1. check the status of the device in Device Manager. Follow the steps for the same thing:

    a. click on start

    b. click Run, in the Run dialog box type devmgmt.msc

    c. in the Device Manager window, locate the CD/DVD drive and expand the drive, double-click the sub element to check if an error message or error code is listed.

2 install the updated firmware for the drive and check if it helps. Link:

    Hi Query1000,

Since you have Windows media player 11 on the system, you can uninstall the update of security for Windows media player 9. This will also help increase disk space.

  • Windows media player - I can't burn a cd

I have windows media player and am tryign burn a CD, I burned a few CDs before,.

    79:57 remaining,
but then when he says to start burning, his gray and I can't click on it, it won't let me burn all the files and the files im trying to burn burned before.
    Help, please

    Hello

Close your program to burn and just put a blank diskette in the drive often works. Sometimes, if you have
burn any installed programs that they're fighting resources, and strange things like this happen.

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

  • Project Windows Movie Maker won't play in Windows Media Player

I created a 'film' in Windows Movie Maker - not a bad little program.  I used to be a professional video tape, and you can do things with Movie Maker and that you can't do with the edition of tape cassette - even in a television station in a big city.

The film plays well in Movie Maker, but he won't play in Windows Media Player (Version 11).  I have Vista Home Version on my computer.

I want to be able to send e-mail to friends and family who do not have Windows Movie Maker - but have Windows Media Player (not sure which versions have all my friends).  Until now, whenever I try to play the movie in Media Player, I get the following message:

Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The player might not support the file type or does not support the codec used to compress the file.

When I click on the "get help from web" button, it takes me to this page:

This page does not give me the solution to the problem and gives me no option to download/install the codec I need.  I don't know what a codec is and don't really care to know.    I just need to know:

    Should which codec I?

    Where can I download it?

What are the two products of Microsoft.  Can they be compatible?  One of the options presented during "editing" the file is to be sent by e-mail.  Not much good if the e-mail recipient is unable to play.

I can also play the movie using Real Player or I-Tunes - but it of okay for me if they work in these players or not, since my friends and family would be no players on their computers.

Maybe you just save the project that creates a .mswmm file.
This file is no longer usable in Movie Maker for re - editing purposes.

Republish the project in the format of video .wmv and you
He can play in Windows Media Player.
