There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.
You can contact Acer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.
They should do this for a small fee.
If you have never received a recovery to buying disk, you won't be hace a recovery Partition
To start the system recovery:

- Once the restore is complete, your computer will restart. After the reboot it will load Windows and start the installation of your software and drivers. Your computer will restart several times during this process. Once they are all completed, your computer will be like it was when you bought it first.
And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.
Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.
If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.
Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.
If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

Original title: Confused about Windows 8 and 8.1 status and upgrade.
I have a new (August 2014) laptop Asus UX303. I comes with variants of Windows 8.
At one point using the apps, I get a message that says that "If the X menu item does not exist, you should switch to Windows 8.1'."
There is no upgrade available in the store. Upgrading diagnosis indicates that I have an enterprise version.
Then I discovered winver on this page: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki/windows8_1-windows_install/how-to-find-out-the-version-of-windows-that-you/9cd9df62-b195-4875-8b9c-76dcc37aef65
What is I have Windows 8 in big letters, followed by the Version 6.3 Build 9600 followed of a copyright notice about Windows 8.1
On the referenced page, the grammar is not clear: I'm supposed to see a big Windows 8 below the version number? It's kind of crazy, but this seems to be what he actually says. Or it just means I have to match the version number? It would be resolvable if the other indicators made a kind of sense, but unfortunately they are not.
If I don't have Windows 8.1, why is there a copyright to her notice?
If I don't have Windows 8.1, why I get the error messages about missing menus, and why the diagnosis is not confirmed I have 8.1 (rather than go Windows 8 Enterprise)?
I don't know which way this product will. I tried the Asus support. It does not seem that they can find someone who is.
Then. what I have? And what (if any) do I do next?
It depends on.
To find out if you have Windows 8.1 or 8.1 Windows Pro Windows 8 or Windows 8 Pro installed:
Press the Windows key + X
Go to the Windows edition section
Windows 8 or Windows Pro 8 or 8.1 Windows or Windows 8.1 Pro
The example below shows Windows 8 Enterprise edition.
I'm getting "unmountable boot volume" and I don't have the recovery disc or a hard drive on my netbook.I tried to connect my netbook to a sony bravia tv and I pressed the power button to restart because it was so slow awakening of the mode standbyI am running windows xp home sp3. What should I do?
Follow the steps in this article to resolve the problem:
I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro P100, about 5 years ago I bought it.
Here is the story, I want to format my laptop but I don't have the recovery or Installer Windows Vista DVD disc, the operating system is pre-installed when I bought it. I know that I can download all components/drivers Toshiba Support page. But how I format without Installer Vista? I have the vista product identification number, so I wonder it works if I format it with vista ungenuine copy, but key ID I have to run it?
Thank you very much. All solutions would be very appreciated.
See you soon
Satellite Pro P100 is old model laptop and I do not remember if this model was delivered with or without recovery DVDs. It turns out that all the models shipped without installation disc recorded on HARD drive data recovery and computer laptop owner is able to install this recovery image using HARD drive recovery facility.
Second option was using recovery DVD creation preinstalled Toshiba recovery disc creator tool. How it works and how to start the HARD drive recovery is described in s manuals that you got with your laptop computer in pdf format. You can also download manuals of this Toshiba support page - http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > support & downloads.
So what you can do like the first, is to check if can begin installation of HARD drive recovery.
Otherwise, you must install OS using the Microsoft installation disc. As you already know, all of the drivers needed, tools and utilities that you can download at Toshiba supports the page.
Microsoft product key that you saw at the label belongs to the version of the OS pre-installed and cannot e used for activation if you install OS on your own.
