I don't like firefox 7
I was happy with firefox 3, it is simple to use and looked clean. I tried firefox 4 to a friend's House and he did not like so I have never updated. But then you give me a choice more and now I have firefox 7 and I don't like to, to the point where I already deleted. Why there is no support for the google toolbar? All the small stuff that was just here in firefox 3 and that we must now seek must much hazzle.
My question is, I want that firefox 3 back, is possible?

How to restore the functionality of the favorite shortcut. I DO NOT LIKE internet explorer, it is heavy and slow. How can I change the shortcut to bookmarks to act as a menu again? I don't like the bookmarks and history pop-out... Firefox has been above the bar, now I have 2 copies of internet explore on my computer, one with an icon that looks like a E and the other that resembles my old firefox browser... This is the result of the 23.0.1 update this morning, it was perfect when I went to bed last night... Maybe I should use Chrome?

Speed dial and my Google bar do not work in version 5. This is clearly not acceptable for me because I use them every day, all day. I've searched for hours and can't find a downloadable version for FF4. Please someone help, it's all I need is to get rid of this monstrosity of an update. I DON'T LIKE IT.
Thank you.
Version 4.0.1 can be downloaded here...
deleted - not supported any longer--lack of security fixes that are in 3.6.18 and 5.0
Just be sure to first uninstall Firefox 5.0.

I think the latest version is very slow when you access web pages. I want to return to the previous version to see if it's better. How can I go about changing back?
To return to the previous secure version which is 3.6.17, follow these steps:
- Go to Download Firefox v3.6.17 and upload it to the office.
- Then go to add/remove programs, scroll down to "Mozilla Firefox" and delete it, choosing to keep your bookmarks, etc., the customizations (don't tick the box).
- Reboot and delete the folder called "Mozilla Firefox" at this location: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
- Finally, run the installation file downloaded previously on the desktop.
Your bookmarks, etc., customizations are stored in a different location and will become available to you even once you complete the installation.
After completing the installation, go to the Plugins check page and update if necessary.
However, before go you that route, here are some tips to make it look like the previous version of FF4.
- Right-click on an empty part of the toolbar tab and click "Tabs on top" to remove the check mark. Tabs later reappears under the search bar.
- Repeat the same steps, but click on the top of the page, one called 'Menu bar '. This will restore the text at the top links.
- To rearrange the layout, repeat the same steps and choose "Customize". A Panel opens and who remains on the screen, you can move elements like toolbars, buttons etc. around and place them anywhere you want. You can also drag anything there that you don't like Panel and add anything you want by dragging it out of there.
- To replace the status bar at the bottom of the page, install this add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/status-4-evar/

It is not that I don't like the change, in fact I love it. However, the open tabs and new Windows Open should return to the original format. Of course, there's a fancy transition but it is more annoying than enjoyable. I never complain about things like that, in fact this will be my first ever complaint about a browser, Explorer, I stop, and looks like I'll do it again until they have change the format of this upgrade. I do not used and I refuse to everything everyone I know feels the same way.
What you don't like in Firefox 4 on how open tabs, windows and?
You can cancel a large number of these changes either by activating / disabling or changing the prefs on the topic: config page or via extensions.
You can right click on the orange Firefox button to open the menu of the toolbar or use (F10) view > toolbars.
- Click on the entry in the Menu bar to make the menus visible bar.
- Click "Tabs at the top" to remove the check mark and place the tab to its original position bar just above the browser window.

When I click on the + to open a new window I don't like the images that arise. I tried several times to change that through words: config; Browser.newtab.URL. I put in the site I want and it won't change. I tried to put in: blank and it don't work. I'm obviously something wrong - can you help please?
Thank you
If Firefox is ignorant preference browser.newtab.url, the usual culprit is an extension.
You can open the page in Firefox Add-ons using either:
- CTRL + SHIFT + a
- "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons
- in the Windows "Run" dialog box, type or paste
firefox.exe "about:addons"
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, in case of doubt, disable (or delete, if possible) not recognized and unwanted extensions. Do not forget that all extensions are optional, none come with Firefox, and you can learn more about them by checking their reviews on the site of the Add - ons.
Often, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.
Any improvement?

How can I return to the old preferences window? I don't like the new tab.
I used to be able to click: Firefox-> Preferences and get the window preferably. Firefox Preferences now opens as a tab. I don't know how or why it changed. But I don't like. How can I go back to the old way to open the preference window?
Hi, I'm not familiar with Mac, but I think it should work - it does in Windows: Type Subject: config in the address bar, press ENTER, accept the warning, scroll to browser.preferences.inContent and double-click on it to change the "value" from true to False, taking care to not to change what anyone else. You will then need to restart Firefox.
If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

I need to know how to activate the box that asks if I'd like firefox to remember this password.
Normally when you install Firefox this feature is enabled by default. You can check the status in the Options dialog box:
the button Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) > Options > Security tab
In the second section, there is a checkbox for "Remember passwords for sites". These articles have more information:
- Password Manager - don't forget, delete, modify and import passwords saved in Firefox
- Use a master password to protect stored passwords and logins
Now... some websites add code to the fields on their forms to block the AutoComplete (which blocks also save connections), so that you can find some sites where Firefox will not save the password for this reason. It may be some workaround solutions, we discussed several times for Yahoo! mail, for example, but since they are long to describe, please post if the problem is specific to the site and provide if possible a link to the login form.

I don't like the new layout, how can I go back the old traced page?
I don't like the new layout, how to get back the old layout of the page?
Looks as if you just use the option to hide the navigation toolbar.
It will be probably temporarily reappear if you press Alt on the keyboard. You can set to display help (I think that - not in Windows Me)
- Firefox-> toolbars-> toolbar Navigation

Question
Sometimes of firefox loads a page slowly with a single click, but if I double click it loads very well? Is there a reason or a fix for this? Overall, I really like Firefox. I always use the latest beta version.Hi Jlhillhouse,
It is difficult to solve the problems of the computer without knowing all the details. You should look at the link I sent you and especially to Firefox is slow - how to make it faster. I don't know any known issue as you describe, it's probably a very good bet for a response.
