I don't want all my photos from my old mac to my new...

I bought my new macbook yesterday because my old one was SO slow. My theory is that it is the amount of pictures and other things, taking the place. The thing is, I don't want my new one to become slow due to my photos in ICloud. I have not yet dared to sync to my computer with my other devices, in fear of this... Is there something I can do?

Welcome to Apple Support communities

iCloud should not be a problem. In addition, you can set Photos on your Mac to keep pictures low resolution in order to save space-> iCloud Photo library FAQ - Apple Support

Regarding your other data, you can choose what to move to your new Mac if you use the Migration Wizard to move your data, so you will have no problem of storage-> move your content to a new Mac - Apple Support

  • How do my photoshop (CS2) from my old mac to my new mac?

I have tried to get my cs2 from my old mac to my new mac and can not get it how

Big oops!  CS2 is only for PPC Macs from before 2005. If you have OS x 10.6.8 you can run under Rosetta, otherwise you may not install or use on an Intel based Mac with os x 10.7 or higher.

Disable (help > deactivate) it and then uninstall it from your old computer if you no longer need on your old computer.

Download the installation files if you have them and installation using your serial number.

Help download and installation to Prodesigntools links can be found on the most linked pages.  They are essential; especially steps 1, 2 and 3.  If you click on a link that does not have these listed steps, open a second window by using the link to Lightroom 3 to see these "important Instructions".

I want to transfer a cs6 old computer to my new how can I do this?

    Hello

You can install and activate the perpetual software (purchased) two computers of the same type (mac or pc), as long as you use it on one at a time.

To load the software on another computer, download and install it as you did on the first computer. Then enter your serial number to activate it.

  • Using Time Machine or the Migration Assistant to transfer information from and old Mac to a new one

I had to think about upgrading a Macbook Air to a Macbook Pro and have done research on how pretty much everything (files, account icloud, etc.) to move to a new computer so I know how to do it when the time comes. I didn't save my current computer at the time I got it and didn't know whether it was necessary to do it before the transfer. Also, I found two different ways to move information from one mac to another, one way being using the migration wizard, the other via the time machine. The problem is that I've never used time machine (I checked my settings and it is turned off). I was curious to know which option would be the 'best' way and if not never back up my computer would be a problem. (If its possible, could someone also please explain how to back up my computer?)

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I look forward I hope to get a reply soon!

I use Time Machine often (and have used since its introduction).  I also upgraded my Mac hardware quite often (about every 18 months).  Whenever I move to a new machine, I use the Migration Wizard (and not Time Machine).  I've never had a problem.

Then I suggest that you need not Time machine specifically in order to change computers.  However, you really need to keep backups simply because the material is not, and without a backup, you are subject to lose everything you have on your computer.

Your Firefox data are stored in the profile folder. You can copy the contents of the old profile folder in the new.

  • need to get my pictures off the coast from the old computer to my new on my lightroom, had to download lightroom with my serial number not the fact the new computer doesn't have a cd player

I fight with this forum, so if I keep asking the same question is because I'm not move here very well. I had to load my lightroom online on my new computer because I don't have a cd driver. Now that I've loaded it I need to get my photos on the old computer. Any ideas on how to do it, and I don't have creative cloud

    Hi tinap50,

You can use an external hard drive to get all the images from your old computer to the new, then import into Lightroom.

I want my pictures to download on my iCloud but I don't want all my previous photos on my phone because there are just a lot of space and I have run out of space. Can I disable the download of photo sharing but allow for photo streams to make this or how can I make this happen? I just want to still my photos go to my Mac and iCloud so I can have my photos without danger...

    Thank you

iCloud is a synchronization service, NOT off of storage of the unit.

You could cut the phone out of sync from your library. Just move them to your Mac and synchronize your Mac with iCloud. Now, you'll have plenty of space on your phone, but no pictures.

From your Mac, you can then make an album with photos that you want to access from your phone. This will require ongoing work, but will keep your clear phone in most of the time.

  • Bulk remove all THE Photos from iPhone

That's enough for me to leave Apple. It is INCREDIBLY complicated. I spent 1/2 hour scouring the internet for the answer. I don't want to hit select 150 times. I want to just DELETE ALL the photos from my iPhone. It might be an easy answer Apple? I tried to Capture of Image, I tried Photos Apple, I tried to use the iPhone. No responses. You all seriously need to go back to the drawing board on this. My 64 GB iPhone 6 is full, my pictures are saved on my MacBook. I WANT TO JUST DELETE PHOTOS DARN OUT OF THE IPHONE IN ONE STEP! When you connect your phone to the pc or mac, it will read it as a camera - then from there you can bulk delete.

  • Update to new IOS - now all the photos from iphoto to my macBook suddenly are also on my iphone5S - how to delete photos on my phone without deleting on the macbook?

Hello dear, I need your help.

I did yesterday an update to new IOS - now all the photos from iphoto to my MacBook are suddenly also on my iphone5S - how to delete photos on my phone without deleting on the macbook?

They are very old photo from my childhood so I definitley them do not need on my phone, but on my MacBook, I want to keep them.

Thank you very much for your support.

Check the settings on your iPhone.  Have you enabled iCloud photo library in the settings > iCloud > Photos on your iPhone?  Or "my photo stream?

If you have iCloud library active on your and your iPhone photos sync iCloud and from there will to all your devices.

If you do not want to synchronize on your iPhone photos, clear the iCloud photo library, but do not allow to delete photos from iCloud, or they will be removed the Mac as well.  With the removal of your iPhone, wait until all iCloud photo options have been disabled.

  • Can I delete all my photos from iPhone camera roll without having to remove them from my library of Photos?

I activated for my photos to iCloud and imported all my photos from my iPhone in my library of Photos. Now, I want to erase my Album of pictures of my iPhone because I have too many pictures on my iPhone (4,000). I'm nervous to delete all my photos because I fear somehow iCloud will synchronize the deletion of my iPhone with my library of Photos... is this the case? Or are my photos safe as soon as they are in my photo library?

Basically, I want to erase all the pictures on my iPhone but I want to make sure that they will always remain in my photo library.

Yes, if you delete the photos in the Photos of your iPhone app will remove also them to iCloud. You must export them from your photo library into folders or another photo management application.
