I don't want to install FF 11

Believe it or not, I don't want to install FF 11. I was clicking NO on update box since he came on my machine. This morning I went down to get a cup of coffee and when I came back I got the dreaded 'blue screen '. I took out the battery, let it sit for about 10 minutes, then put the battery back in. Started in Mode safe and tried to understand what had gone wrong.

When none of the obvious, I thought that my cat had been messing around with the keyboard and rebooted normally. When I clicked on open FF, told me that 11 was downloading. The file is now sitting somewhere in I-don't-want-TI-hell and I need to know how to prevent it from moving.

Too many programs that I trust is not compatible with 11, and until they are, I do not put to level. Can someone tell me how I can fix this annoying problem... Please?

If the files have already been downloaded, then delete the files in the folder updates\0 and updates.

You can also remove active - update.xml, or even updates.xml (stores the history of update).

C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox\updates
(%LOCALAPPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox)

The "Application Data" in XP/Win2K folder and the folder "AppData" in Vista/Windows 7 are hidden folders.

    Hi MatthewMessmer,

    1. Did you the latest changes on the computer?
    2. You receive the error message when you try to install a program on the computer?
    3. You have security software installed on the computer?

    Method 1

First restart the computer and try to install programs on the computer.

I suggest that you restart the Windows Installer service and check if it helps.

Refer to the article below and try the steps listed in the section Windows installation problems, check to see if it helps.

How to troubleshoot issues that may occur when you install, uninstall, or upgrade one program on a Windows computer

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2438651

    Method 2

If the previous step fails, then temporary disable the security software on the computer and check if that helps.

Important: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

  • Recovery of the Internet wants to install more recent OSX

    Hello

I'm trying to reinstall OS x on a Macbook Pro mid-2010.  I erased the hard drive and now need to reinstall. Following the advice of many threads on this site and others, I try to use Internet recovery to reinstall the original OSX (which was installed when it came from the factory). However, El Capitan is automatic and option only when I run this program. Also, it's invited me to enter my Apple ID, which, according to several sets of instructions found on the internet, including officially from Apple, shouldn't happen.  Anyone know why I am being forced to install El Capitan? Everything I read says that internet recovery is how you return to the original operating system. It is of an older machine who never ran El Capitan, and I don't want to install it if not necessary. Besides, I don't want to enter my ID if not necessary, because I intend to sell or give in the near future.

    Any help is appreciated!

    P.S. I've tried reset NVRAM.

Hmm. My first question why wipe the hard drive? Recovery would have reinstalled your current OS X, if that was your goal.

I think that as you have wiped the drive you have a backup.

I would like to restore your OSX this Time Machine backup or your clone to boot back up.

    To answer your question

To use internet on a 2010 recovery you should have to run an update of the EFI firmware at any given time. I suspect that your delivered 2010 with Snow Leopard. There is no download for Snow Leopard.

  • I want to install Win XP on Satellite A305-S6905

    Hello.

I want to downgrade my Vista to XP because of problems and slow down my PC...
For example I can't download updates antivirus, games etc...

I read in the forum that I need some kind of sata drivers and those I can do myself, but someone can help me with other drivers because I use this laptop for an hour and I know not what drivers there need.

If someone could give me links to the necessary software, I would be very grateful.

    Thank you.

    Hello

I think that you couldn't find the right drivers XP because you didn t find on the right-hand page.
Like you probably n t know that this series of laptop (Satellite A305) belongs to Toshiba from US and you have to find good drivers on Toshiba U.S. page!
    http://www.toshibadirect.com/TD/B2C/home.to

In addition, if you want to install Win XP on laptop thin, you will need to install the SATA drivers first.
The SATA drivers are on Intel Storage Manager part which can be downloaded from the Intel and Toshiba page page as well.

But if you don t want to install SATA drivers, there is another possibility to install the XP.
Just access the BIOS and set the compatible SATA to AHCI mode.

    That s it.

Understanding Windows Update and Extras in Windows Vista

Read the tutorial above on how to change the way you receive updates.

Vista offers four different methods for how Windows Update updates your computer. Below, we explain each method and when this is the recommended setting.

Install updates automatically (recommended) - if you select this option, then all the critical updates will be automatically downloaded and installed on your computer. These updates will install at the time, you specify the fields to install new updates. This is the recommended option for the majority of people because it ensures that you have all the critical updates installed automatically on your computer.

Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Vista will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.

Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need, or those who have little access to the Internet.

Never search for updates (not recommended) - if you select this option, Vista never automatically checks updates. This option should never be selected as it puts your computer are likely to be affected, infected or hacked

  • Windows 10 wanting to install in my updates.

    Hi all

I don't want to install Win - 10 on my computer at this time. However he continues to wonder if I want to, and today by my Win - 7 updates through update, everything seems to me that Basel to install would be Windows 10.

It is has several available updates, security, MSE, etc., and I checked those to install Windows 10 is still, on the update screen.

Afraid to hit 'install' because it's just to show Win-10...

And if anyone knows how to disable the file causing me so much pain, I would like to know how to remove my computer.

    Thank you in advance,

  • Don't want Windows 10

Have a laptop Sony VAIO Win7.  Went to check out the updates today and it was Windows 10, with a button 'get started '.  Was an optional update in the opposite case.  Checked the update optional to go forward, but I don't want to install Win10 at that time.

How can I get regular updates installed Win7 and remove the Win10 upgrade offer?

    Thank you!

I downloaded Windows 10 and I don't like it for several reasons. For example, they announce that the Start button is the same. It is not. It takes three clicks just to put my computer to sleep. Then he returned after about 10 seconds. I was told I could have Windows 7 Premium return at any time up to 30 days. I asked this morning and it has not yet arrived. Microsoft has put Windows on my computer in a few minutes. Why I can't get Windows 7 Premium at the same time?

  • I have an old iso of windows 7 at my University and I want to install it on a new machine.

I have an old iso of windows 7 at my University and I want to install it on a new machine. The terms of use of installation of mention that it subject to the original agreement of the University. Original title: installation of windows 7

I have an old iso of windows 7 at my University and I want to install it on a new machine. The terms of use of installation of mention that it subject to the original agreement of the University. I have graduated and am no longer a student. Can I use this iso standard and buy a product key after installation? Or I have to buy a new package of windows 7?

Yes, you can use the same key and buy a new product key (same edition). Of course, you can simply buy a retail box package in order to get the key. There is no digital distribution of the keys (if you find one, they are illegal).

If I can use the disk is it a place to buy a product key on microsofts website?

No, you buy the retail package to get the key.

I kind of remember a possibility to buy a key during the activation process, but I don't want to install this version and have to start over.

You can try to use the key if you still have it and try the activation of the phone.

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

    1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    (2) press the ENTER"" key.

    (3) select your "country" in the list.

    (4) choose the option "activate phone".

    (5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

    (6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.
