I have service pack 3 on my computer, but the webcam I bought required service pack 2.  What can I uninstall 3 and make 2?

    * original title - I have service pack 3 but need service pack 2 for the webcam

    Yes, you can do it.

but there might be a chance that if you last updated your system to sp3, the driver would not work.

That being said, go to the website of the webcam and review their installation instructions because they have updated their software or hardware cam driver for the component that you have purchased.

either way, it seems that the cam was made during the time when xp sp2 was on the market.

I restarted bit keep getting option start normally or run repair program. ATER prog of running repair, he says he could not solve the problem and only asked if I wanted to report it. Computer wont even start in safe mode. Damage in the registry? Anyway my computer software was loaded at the factory and I don't have a recovery with her disk. Is there anyway that I can enter the partision to reload Vista? Otherwise, someone ' one can suggest how to fix my startup boot up?

    Hi coopervane,

You can try a system restore by booting from the Windows Vista disc. Will need you the Windows Vista disc to do an offline system restore. You may need to contact the manufacturer of the computer or make arrangements for any Windows Vista disk that will help you start the computer and go to optins Startup Repair tool.

To use offline system restore, you must have a Windows Vista CD or DVD. In addition, your computer must be configured to start from the CD-ROM or DVD drive. In some cases, you may need to change the settings of the BIOS on the computer to configure the computer to start from the CD-ROM or DVD drive. For more information on the configuration of the computer to start from the CD-ROM or DVD drive, see your computer documentation or contact the manufacturer of the computer. A recovery disk will not help, because it will erase all your data.

First of all, start the computer from the reader. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Insert the Windows Vista CD / DVD and restart the computer.

    2. When you receive the following message appears, press a key:

Press any key to start from the CD or DVD.

    3. set the following preferences, and then click Next:

    o language to install

    o time and currency formats

    o keyboard or input method

Then, use the offline System Restore to remove the service pack of Windows Vista. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. click on repair your computer, select the operating system you want to repair if necessary and then click Next.

    2. click on System Restore, and then click Next.

    3. click about to restore that corresponds to the date of installation of the service pack. The Restore Point will be labeled either install: Windows Update or install: Windows Vista Service Pack .

4 confirm the disk hard that you want to restore, and then click Next.

    5. click Finishand then click Yes when you are prompted.

    6. when the system restore process is complete, click restart to restart the computer.

    7. when the computer restarts, click close to confirm that the system restore completed successfully.

I hope this information is useful.

Please let us know if you need further assistance.

Note: Important this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

  • WINDOWS VISTA SERVICE PACK 1 (KB936330) says it is downloaded, but it is not

My PC recently had to be rebuilt from scratch. It now seems to work fine except that this update is continually need to be downloaded.
When I try to install the update by "preparation for installation" create a restore point, and then opens a box saying "Welcome to Windows Vista Service Pack 1", then me to accept the terms and conditions then produces a window telling me that it can take several hours to install etc. When I click on install it instantly tells me that it has been correctly installed. Hi allanmiones,

    ·         It shows Windows XP Service Pack 3 under System Properties?

    ·         What you are trying to download?

    ·         What is the exact message that you receive when you download something?

There is no SP3 for the 64 bit version of Windows XP, so if you have installed Service Pack 3, it means that you have a 32-bit version of Windows XP is installed on the computer.

Overview of Windows XP Service Pack 3

You can check the Windows XP system information (Msinfo32.exe) tool to see if you have a 32-bit or a 64-bit operating system. Search for System Type. Note that x 86 is 32-bit and x 64 is 64-bit.

  • Re-install Windows Vista Service Pack 1

Hello, I have recently reinstalled my Windows Vista Home Premium.  Now I am trying to re - install Windows Vista Service Pack 1.

I had to download it because I couldn't get by a Windows Update.  When I tried to install the Service Pack, I received the following error message: Error Code: 0x8000FFFF.

I want to upgrade to Windows 7, and then to 10 Windows but I don't think I'll be able to update without Windows Vista Service Pack 1 and 2.

Can anyone give me any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Rich

I have been unable to install SP1 via windows updates but has been able to do it using the suggestions here:
    https://social.technet.Microsoft.com/forums/Windows/en-us/4120f8ff-ae6c-437f-A40D-8d48794d9841/services-Pack-1-for-Vista-Home-Premium-will-not-install?Forum=itprovistasp

They include two tools running of Microsoft and then by installing SP1 downloaded in a boot environment. After finishing SP2, windows update has provided a new Windows Update Agent, which made it impossible to update. This is my 4th new installation disc from Dell, that started because of this same update to Windows Update Agent. I'm about to give up. If you try to install, I would set a restore point before doing so.
