I forgot my password on Satellite C660/C660
Hello
Can someone please help
I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite C660/C660D for my nephew, we have forgotten the administrator password and we have not password reset disk is anyway around this.
Thank you
Hello
I assume you mean windows system password and no BIOS password. Right?
It s not very big problem if you forgot the password but if you mean the BIOS password then you are in trouble because the BIOS password can be removed simply by a Toshiba ASP. technicians
So I guess you mean this password Windows Start Notepad, and then press F8
Now you can choose to fix my computer, then choose disk HARD recovery.
This could start a HARD drive recovery procedure that would be to reinstall the system during installation, you can set password admin anther.
Of course there are other methods, but as far as I know this requires tools/3rd party software or Win 7 DVD so I think that drive HARD recovery is the fastest solution.

Is the another way to restore to factory setting without;

I think that you can reinstall the operating system if you have the recovery installation disc.
The question is: do you have sister created this (recovery media) disc? -
Re: New Satellite C660 blocked by password
I know this will sound silly. but I'm an ODP buy my first computer (for the wife at Christmas) and I don't have any idea what I'm doing. We bought a Toshiba Satellite C660 - 28 tons Saturday
During installation, it asked my wife to give it a name who did and she did also a password. She has set up ok and was able to access the internet, etc.. Later, she turned off and concluded that she could not use it again. When she starts the computer name is ok, but when asked for a password, the password chosen does not work. We have tried everything, every variation of his password etc etc and cannot enter into the computer again
What can we do? our password does not work, and we do not know how to enter a new. Can someone help or advise what we can do? We have even not yet guaranteed. Thanks a lot if you can help.
Try this first.
Turn on the laptop and then press and hold F8. A screen should open with different options, using the arrow cursor / keys select "safe mode with networking". I hope that you will get a login with 'Administrator' as one of the users screen and if you select this account, and there will be no password. I suggest that you use "help and Support" of the Start button to see how you reset the password. If you now have your machine backward, I suggest that you look at the creation of a password reset disk.
If you still cannot come back in the machine and then if you create backup discs, then you can restore the machine out of the box with them State

Satellite C660-15r - restore Windows 7 without password
I bought Toshiba Satellite C660-15r off someone, but the problem is that there is a password at startup upward.
It's very well because I was about to restore it somehow but when I go to the restoration of windows you need a password to access. Is it possible to reinstall windows with using windows restore. I really hope that someone can help you.
My advice is to follow:
When you buy used laptop install OS again to have the own operating system preinstalled. Use the Toshiba recovery image, if possible.
Just a question: do you mean password BIOS or Windows login password? If the previous user has put a password, you need and without that password, you can do nothing.
If the pre-installed OS is locked with password login, you can install OS using recovery DVDs and you don't need any password for it. I just hope that the previous owner has created this recovery DVDs. -
Re: Satellite C660-21Z - password lock
Hello
Again Toshiba Satellite C660-21Z which I set up with no problem and all updates loaded
I can't get past the Welcome screen and the message is to reset the password with the use of usb flash stick and password recovery disk. How to do this or what I can without having to take the entire batch instead of purchase?
> Have new Toshiba Satellite C660-21Z which I've implemented without problem
Does that mean exactly? What do you mean with Setup?
You started your laptop for the first time and preinstalled OS has finished setting up, right?Do you have a Windows account password?
Sorry, but I don't know what your problem is. -

Satellite C660-108 - slow response keyboard
The keyboard on my Satellite C660-108 is very slow in response. Some characters are not at all, some only after a short delay. It's very embarrassing when I type text and passwords (!) because I have to double check any type (and 1 / 3 words has spelling mistakes, because of the problem with keyboard)
Is there a way I can troubleshoot what's the problem?
Thank you
Herbert
Hey Buddy,
As you can read in many other threads, you must update the BIOS to get rid of this problem.
Toshiba has already published an article on what you need to do:

Satellite C660 does not work after disasembling
I just tried to solve the overheating problem on my satellite C660 to disassemble and clean the fan
However I inevitably messed up somehow. Now when I try it lights up, fan runs, hard drive makes noises and the screen remains empty for about 30 seconds, then the fan goes crazy for a second and everything turns off again.
Someone if there is something specific I broke and if it's fixable or replaceable.
See you soon,.
TimHow to clean the fan?
Did you get a Youtube video on how to disassemble? If this is not the case, look for a video and disassemble the laptop again. They replay and reassemble the laptop while you watch.
You probably forgot to put a connector or a cable sheet or not tight enough.Good luck!

Satellite C660 - no access Internet - yellow exclamation point appears
Hello
I have a toshiba Satellite c660 and there serious internet problems.
When I turn it on, it says that I don't have access to the internet but when I try to use it, a yellow exclamation point will appear then down down on the wifi icon.If I click on the internet icon and it says im connected to the internet, but I have no internet access.
I'm really confused as to what to do. Internet days might work for a while and then all of a sudden the exclamation point appears there and I can't get working again. If anyone has any ideas on what is wrong or how to fix Tournay would be GREAT. as for now I can't use the internet wireless on my laptop.
Thank you.
Hello
I think there could be a problem with your WLan router.
I recommend to reset the router and try againIf this is not enough, clear all settings of encryption like encryption, password encryption, mac address filtering, etc. and try to connect again to open WLan.
But this just for testing purposesIf the connection would be functions, you must configure the router once more.

Satellite C660 - missing utility, BIOS not in default
Bought a Satellite C660-22v on ebay that seems to work fine, except that none of the Tosh utilities are present.
I was going to reload the operating system and downloaded the manual that say I have set the default BIOS. The former owner put the password on it and told me that it is. Is that what I want to know, can I do the restore of the system without resetting the BIOS, or how to get the utilities of Tosh?
To be honest I don t understand what do you mean with these missing utilities. Is this laptop comes with preinstalled original Win7 home premium. If you have the recovery disc reinstall OS and start using the laptop with the settings that includes all Toshiba tools and utilities. If you want to install some of them more you can download them from http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp
In General, you can do the system restore without changing the BIOS settings, but now when you want to use the laptop the other person I think the best is to remove the BIOS password, BIOS value by default, reinstall OS and start using the laptop with the factory settings. Later, you can configure for laptop and change the settings.

Satellite C660 - TOSHIBA Accessibility error
Hello
I recently bought a Satellite C660/C660D fine, apart from one or two minor issues (which this thread is on about). First of all, the laptop was and is still littered with loads of random software from TOSHIBA, here is a list:
+ TOSHIBA Assist +.
+ TOSHIBA Bulletin Board.
+ TOSHIBA ConfigFree +.
+ TOSHIBA Disc Creator +.
+ TOSHIBA face recognition.
+ Support utility TOSHIBA Flash Cards +.
+ TOSHIBA hardware setup +.
+ TOSHIBA HDD/SSD Alert +.
+ TOSHIBA Media Controller +.
+ TOSHIBA Media Controller plugin +.
+ TOSHIBA online product information.
+ TOSHIBA Recovery Media Creator +.
+ TOSHIBA Recovery Media Creator reminder +.
+ TOSHIBA ReelTime +.
+ TOSHIBA Service Station +.
+ TOSHIBA supervisor password +.
+ Toshiba TEMPRO +.
+ Package + Toshiba value added
+ TOSHIBA Web Camera Application. Is there an ISO image of recovery pre made somewhere or do I have to make my own, because if I decide to unisntall some of these programs, I could need at a later date?
The second issue is with the TOSHIBA Accessibility application which shows the FN keys, it does not seem to start. He worked the first day then I disabled all startup TOSHIBA applications and I get the following error: "registry is missing or may be broken. ', I don't know why!
I tried cleaning the registry, as well as the registry is not broken.
* Thanks in advance *.
-Olivier
Hi Olivier,.
I'm happy to hear that you are owner of laptop Toshiba too and you've discovered the forum here. We can discuss everything on laptops from Toshiba, that s interesting :)
I'll try to help you resolve this issue:
1.Yes, there is a recovery image for restore factory settings with all drivers and tools on your laptop but is important burn you this image to a blank DVD using pre-installed recovery media creator. You will get a disc with an image of Windows with all the drivers and tools => settings of the case. Thus, the same parameters as you purchased the computer.
2.i think that FN keys don t work because you have disabled some important tools Toshiba they are necessary for the FN keys. For FN keys TOSHIBA button Support and TOSHIBA Flash Cards startup items are absolutely necessary, so you should allow them and restart the computer.

On my Satellite C660-174 desktop screen does not open properly
I'm a newbie here so my question is maybe obvious to some, but not for me!
My laptop Satellite C660-174 (running Windows 7) ceased to open correctly. Everything is normal until my password is entered. Rather than open up to my "desktop" with its icons all on the side I get a page with a banner "Toshiba Leading Innovation" through it and only four random icons on the side.
How to restore my desktop screen and all the icons?
Help will be appreciated.
It's really not easy to understand what you see exactly.
Can you please take a picture and send a link where we can see it?I really don't understand what could be the problem, but what you can try is to start your machine with F8 and enter advanced startup options. Choose the entry 'Repair your computer', then press 'Enter '. Go forward until you enter the system recovery options. Try to system restore to earlier date. Perhaps this will help you solve problem described.

Satellite C660-10 d - missing Fn + F8 wireless switch
Hi people,
I hope someone may be able to help...
I have a Satellite C660-10 d (p/n: PSC0LE-00j00JEN)...
I just reinstalled Windows 7 (Ultimate x 64 of my own DVDs). I have all embedded applications and drivers going apart from the Fn + F8 Wifi on / switching.
The flash cards app shows along the top of the screen when I press the Fn, but there is no F8 wireless Panel and pressing Fn + F8 does nothing.
The Wifi driver is installed, and the WiFi currently on and functional, but may not be disabled.
I've got these installed:
Value Pack-20101130111348
Card Flash Utility-20110519151724 supportTwo of these two wifi drivers cause the same behavior:
WiFi RTL8192ce_WindowsDriver 1005.31.1222.2011.F0066. P0830 ISS 1.00.0180.L
WIN8 20121203105641
(this is the Realtek RTL811CE, according to Device Manager)I have a Norton Ghost image even flavor of windows in which the Fn + F8 combination works very well, so I think I can be good for all hardware course (it's slow old installation, I am trying to replace).
I tried every variation of every driver or app that I can find, but the results are either WiFi seems to be installed OK but cannot be turned on at all or look at and connects OK but cannot be switched on/off.
Does anyone know the trick to get the Wifi Fn + F8 / stop function time showing and working with a fresh Windows installation please?

Satellite C660-1R1 - recover Windows 7 product key
Dear Toshiba support,
My Toshiba Satellite C660-1R1 bought in 2011. By the end of 2013, the original HARD drive died and I replaced it with an SSD. That said, I can't start the recovery with the original Windows 7 installation partition, or I can retrieve the product key from the registry. In addition, the sticker of the product key on the back of the laptop is almost unreadable. I read only a few letters.
Is it possible for the support of Toshiba recover my Windows 7 Home product key based on the serial number and other details? I can send the whole of the back of my laptop with two stickers to the evidence.
Thanks for any help.
MarcinHi marcinziel
You are lucky to have a product key sticker (COA).
Some people have had success with the digitization of the AOC and using software to improve the image.
This year I bought a R50 Pro of the Satellite with Windows 7 pro and I can't find a sticker (COA) about it.
Toshiba help you with your product key problem?
I'm still waiting for a response from Toshiba.
