I get a blue screen with STOP error: 0x0000008e

Original title: blue screen error

I have the blue screen error 0x0000008e (0xc0000005, 0x81e781a7, 0x8c92791c, 0x00000000) on windows vista and I can only boot into safe mode. I don't have the copy of vista because the computer came with it installed. I just ran recienly defender of windows on it offline and that's when it started.

Hello

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.
Method 1:
Start in safe mode and put the computer in a clean boot state, and then start in normal mode and check if the problem persists.
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: Once you have completed troubleshooting, try the procedure described in step 7 to reset the computer to start as usual.

Method 2:
Start in safe mode and then restore the system if it took place recently and check if it helps.
System Restore: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/products/features/system-restore
Warning: once you are restoring the system to safe mode you will not be able to undo the system restore.

Hope the information is useful.

The first thing to do is to boot your system and start pressing F8 as soon as it starts booting.  You will get the Windows startup options screen.  Select "Disable automatic restart in the event of system failure" and let it restart.  When it starts, it can now stop with an error screen and give an error message and code.

Just one quick response for others...

Go to your bios to change the mode of training of your s - ata AHCI or IDE Compatible mode or all that apply :) Windows XP is not like SATA, because it has no native support for it. At the start of the second phase of a Setup program, it would fail with this BSOD.

Also read the following Microsoft article that describes many other causes (including file system damage):Troubleshooting of errors "Stop 0x0000007B" in Windows XP Advanced

Sometimes, your BIOS will provide its default settings after a system crash or a configuration. Should not happen, but it is...

  • Windows XP does not start, I get a blue screen with STOP: 0x0000007E (0 x 0000005, 0 xC0000001, 0xF7AA13D4, 0xF7AA1D0)

so I used Spybot S & D to get rid of a virus on my computer that I thought was spyware. (basically what made the virus was redirect all my research on google for websites ad). After what's happened, he said I had to reboot my computer so I don't, Spybot run and then asked me a bunch of changes and whether to 'allow' or 'ignore' or 'refuse the change. I don't know if this has caused, but I clicked on 'allow' or 'deny change' for many of them, and then neither firefox nor IE would work because both would be would break whenever I tried to use them.

so to remedy THIS problem, I tried to use "System Restore" last week when my laptop was working fine, but the system restore everything screwed up my worst computer. Now XP will not boot even upward, and I get a blue screen with the error "STOP: 0x00000007E (0 x 0000005, 0 xC0000001, 0xF7AA13D4, 0xF7AA1D0) ' and its a cycle with no end of restarting but XP never works.

I tried the safe mode, last good configuration, all these options, known and none got XP to start.

I am so lost on what to do, can anyone help me?

    Thanks for all your comments

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.  If you can try to boot mode safe mode with command prompt, and then run the following commands.

    Chkdsk /r

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/315265

    sfc/scannow

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310747

If you cannot start mode safe mode with command prompt, then you need to boot from your XP CD recovery console and run these commands.  Post back with the results.

If you are not real tied to the current installation of Windows - then a cloth and then reinstall are the best way to see if you can fix this

Here's a suggestion on how to do a 'clean ': install
    [quote]
For testing purposes, it is best to install Windows "clean".
It is, basically, install the way that Microsoft intended (with the drivers from Windows Update).
This procedure is for Windows 7, Vista is similar (but has 2 service packs)

You will need your installation/recovery DVD (s) before you start.  Once you wipe the hard drive, there is no going back!

1 back up all your data.
It will wipe everything off of your hard drive, so what you want to keep should be backed up elsewhere.

NOTE: If this is due to an infection, remember to analyze the data with current antivirus to another system to locate and remove malware.

    2. connect the system to the internet (if the system shows then disconnect from the Internet, do).

    3. use one of these free utilities to wipe the hard drive:
    DBAN ( http://www.dban.org/download )
    KillDisk ( http://www.killdisk.com/downloadfree.htm ).
This will also remove the system recovery partitions - so the installation/restore DVD is essential!

4 install Windows by booting from the installation/recovery DVD - DO NOT change any settings!

5 visit Windows Update and get all updates

    6. check device for all unknown/disabled devices Manager - if there are unknown disabled devices, secure them with the latest drivers from the website of the manufacturer of the device (not the PC manufacturer)

7 visit Windows Update and download the Service Pack 1 (normally under important updates).  Read these notes for installing SP1: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2505743

8 visit Windows Update and get any other available updates

9 download, install and update a free antivirus, so it does not get infected during the test ( http://www.carrona.org/freeav.html ).

If problems persist, then the problem is probably with your hardware.

Warning: If you have an Asus motherboard, check the date on the file C:\Windows\System32\driver\ASACPI.sys.  2004/2005 is a problem, 2009,2010 is OK.  Updates are available on the Web from Asus site.

Warning: If you have a Sony system, make sure that you do NOT have the 2007 version (or earlier) Extension of Firmware of Sony Analyzer (SFEP.sys).  To update this driver immediately!

  • Windows Vista-used to get the blue screen with the error on it. Re-installed Vista and the programs one by one w/restorations. Now, I get the blank screen minidump file blue w/error after reboot and...

I find the minidump files and tried opening them and could not. Files and downloaded programs of debugging appear in the program. When I try to open them I get "you must be an administrator to open" insofar as I know that I am the administrator because supposedly everything I need is another administrator account. Also my restore will pass in a few days, and the box is no longer available. Also had an error on my printer files so I removed them, but as I (after) that I pressed the firm PC, the blue screen appeared and had to turn it off manually and of course got the minidump error message when I started again. If at this point, I'm still waiting to see if deleting the files printer helped. Any information would be appreciated.

OK, I'll look for your next post with minidump files.

    So here's my problem.
I got a BSOD when using, or not, my computer. It seems at any time, and I don't know why.
I took a photo of the blue screen, and I can provide it.
I tried I tried to uninstall the antivirus software and latest software that I installed it, but the problem is the same. I disconnected the 3 HD and still BSOD.
    The BSOD is:

I installed win7 last Sunday, and the BSOD appears in this week.
    Maybe the drivers GeForce?
    What should I do next?
PS: I forgot to say: operating system is installed on an SSD. I ran chkdsk and no problems were detected. I have a 1 TB samsung drive too and the 3To WD drive.
I reinstalled Win7 after a crash of one of my Corsair memory. It works very well for a year before that.
    Thanks for help.

    Ok!

My computer is running for a few hours with no BSOD more.

  • We get a blue screen with no error message when the user arrives in the morning... but not every day.

Have a user who was the bluescreen with no error message when she arrives in the morning. This doesn't always happen.  But when it does, it must do a hard boot of his computer. It runs XP SP3, and it is on a domain. Another user reports what is happening also, but not as often.

Yet once, it is not consistent where it happens every working day. It's maybe 1 or 2 days a week, if that. Hibernation is disabled and power options are set to never turn off.
If this is not enough information, I will be happy to provide more if necessary. Any contributions to this issue would be appreciated.
    Thank you

This may apply . But this message does not resemble a BSOD / crash

  • Why do I get a blue screen with the error STOP: 0x0000007E every time I turn on my computer?

    Error message: STOP: 0x0000007E (0xc0000005, 0xB42E09AC, 0xBA4E39B4, 0xBA4E36B0)

Here is the text of the BSOD:

    STOP: 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0xB0B9B9AC, 0xBA4DF8AC, 0xBA4DFSA8)
    Kbdclass.sys - address BOB9B9AC base at B0B9B000, DateStamp 48025372
Some of the Stop line numbers change but their pretty much the same content. There is no C:\Windows\Memory.Dmp file on this computer.  Sorry it takes so long

The Kbdclass.sys driver that is referenced is the keyboard class driver that is a component of Windows.

It is possible that the accident might actually be due to a third-party keyboard driver.

If you have installed a third party (for example. Keyboard Logitech driver) can update you or, if necessary, uninstall the third-party keyboard driver and see if the error resolves?

  • I get a blue screen with an error code 0 x 00000050 on Windows XP.

This shutdown occurred at 5 or 6 times in the last 45 days with different parameters. No new something has been installed since the construction of the system. The problem started when I installed a card mother ECS RC410-M (2nd Board is installed). He ran reliable as far as I could tell for a while (weeks) with the second bedroom / cpu package. I tried a different processor (current is D945, used P4) and different RAM modules (current 2 x 512 DDR2 533). Seller Council is without help, as almost everyone I contacted. Obviously the system cannot be used in a critical environment. System generally works well. These cards were used by HP in the exact configuration, I built, I have a moment hard to believe the Board alone is responsible, but I'm ready to throw away the ECS. Is this the only solution?

OK, I took a leap of faith and swapped the Mo, problem solved (01/16/10). I chose a Board with the chipsets listed by Intel to support Pentium D 945 I had. Apparently, the last execution of the manufacturing of the ECS boards used a substitution of the original hardware components and makes the Board less stable at high speed cpu.

What should I do now?

    Hi Yprlvr

It is not possible to download records from the web site, but you can order and they will send you the discs for you.  If you can get another option using F11 to work and get the restored system this way, you can make your own recovery disks (assuming that you have not already done on this PC, what a game can be made by PC).

    Hello

Step 1: Check if you are able to boot in safe mode. If you are able to boot into safe mode, and then try to perform the clean boot to safe mode and check.

From your computer by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs so that you can determine if a background program is interfering with your game or program. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot".

    Reference:

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    1. click on start and then click Run.
    2. type msconfig and click OK.

The System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.

    3. click on the tab general, click Normal Startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.
    4. When prompted, click on restart to restart the computer.

Step 2: Run the check disk hard disk command. (You will be able to try this step if you are able to start in safe mode or in normal mode with success)
