I get a hard drive error at each start of my G4-1001TX laptop.

This indicates that there is a faulty hard drive and needs replacement material. If you are in warranty, you can get free replacement of HP.

    Hello

It decodes for hard drive error 305 or the hard drive has failed, you will need to get the replaced hard drive and reinstall the OS and have a Fresh start, note that all your data is saved on the hard drive will be lost.

  • Re: Satellite A40 - hard drive error - will not start

My friend bought this laptop in April 2007 and has been very happy with it until about a month when he stopped startup in windows xp.

At the start, she now gets the message

"PXE - E61 media test failure - check the cable for.

I ran a Toshiba (or he could have Hitachi) utility disk that I burned on a cd and went up on the audit boot.

It said there are problems on Toshiba MK4025GAS, which is the hard drive. details coincide with what it actually says on the disc.

The BIOS sees the drive start on as he is listed as the master, with the cd as the secondary drive.
Therefore, is it true that the drive is broken. If so - can it be repaired or is there another solution.

I tried Googling the error message and there are conflicting messages on this issue, so your help would be very appreciated.

In your case, the HARD drive is certainly defective and you need to replace. Satellite A40 is pretty old laptop without guarantee valid and there is no replacement from Toshiba.

Just buy a new HARD drive. Hard drives for this good old classic are not more expensive.

Here are the specifications of your laptop of HP ENVY 17-3077NR. You receive the error code indicates that your computer's hard drive has failed or is about to fail. To resolve this issue, you must replace the hard drive with a new one that is similar to the original hard drive. It is clear this form, this model uses a single 750GB 2.5 "SATA hard drive.

Once you replace the hard drive, you will need to use your HP recovery disc set staff to return the computer to a factory State. If you don't create these disks, you may order from HP or third-party provider ComputerSurgeons.com. If the figure 25 Windows product key on your computer is still readable, you can download Windows and install it using the product key on your computer.

Whenever I turn on my laptop, a message appears that there is a problem with my hard drive.  I have prees F2 to get the Diagnostics utility and run the hard drive test. When I do I get this message

    hard drive error

    Failure ID: 90 c 633-6am70r-mfgk0k - 60 c 203

    Hello

Error code 24 characters will be a Smart failure or disk Self Test - in both cases, this would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.

If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the disk replaced - you can check the status of your warranty here.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

If you are out of warranty and would like a guide to replacing the hard drive yourself, let me know.

  • Game-hard drive error

    Hi all

I had to increase the size of some VMDK today and didn't want to do it manually. So I thought, I'd give PowerCLI a shot.

My script is supposed to set the size of all the VMDK with a given name in a certain store of data to approximately 50GB. All hard drives that are chosen are 10 GB in size but Set-hard drive gives me an error saying that it can only expand/extend (forgot the exact wording) hard drives. Apparently, he thinks that my disks are larger than the size of the target? This is not the case, and if I run the command manually for a virtual machine the command does what it is supposed to do. I don't know what could cause this behavior.

Maybe someone can take a look at my script and see if there is something wrong with it?

At one point in the command gave me an error saying something like that I had to connect to a host directly it is why my script may seem a little weird.

I should mention that this is my first PowerShell script ever and I have

have no experience in programming, so please don't laugh too hardhttp://communities.vmware.com/images/emoticons/wink.gif

    Thank you in advance!

    Script: http://pastebay.com/99124

    Hello

As you noticed correctly Get-hard drive - data store needs direct connection of ESX. In this case, the cmdlet uses the VirtualDiskManager to directly query the vmdk file information. This is also the reason why property persistence is unknown - this information is available through the virtual machine (Get-disk hard - VM myVM).

However, even if you get the hard disk, the navigation data store, expand operation should be fine.

The error you are getting is because HostUser, HostPassword, GuestUser and GuestPassword tells the cmdlet to extend the drive hard and resize the hard disk in the guest virtual computer OS. If you want to do you need to get the hard drive using the virtual machine, it is attached to.

So to remove this parameters should extend the vmdk file as you want:

    connect-viserver -server $vmhosts[0] -user $huname -password $hpword
    $vmharddisks = Get-HardDisk -DataStore VMFS-OS-LUN100 | where { $_.filename -like "*HD*"}
    foreach ($vmharddisk in $vmharddisks) {
            Set-HardDisk -HardDisk $vmharddisk -CapacityKB $cap
    }

    Kind regards

  • Satellite L350 - persistent master hard drive errors

I've known persistent main hard disk errors. Errors, in their first incarnation, were windows freeze at loading screens and screensavers, and then developed by stopping Windows to boot at all. It certainly would not start normally and sometimes would not start in safe mode. I used the recovery partition to restore the computer to its factory settings. A day or two later, the same symptoms began to manifest again, although not as severely. The hard drive errors, freeze on screens and loading screen savers.

My question is: if I re - format the hard drive master, thus destroying the recovery partition, I could then just restore windows from a newly formed recovery CD? And, in addition, what is the probability that reformatting the drive hard completely would have an effect on the frequency of errors?
If the hard drive is simply borked, format or not? And if yes, what is the next step?
Could I restore windows on my drive hard slave and give up on the master?

    Thanks in advance.
    Mike

    Hey Buddy,

Are you sure that all these problems related to the HARD drive at 100%? How did you check that?

I don t mean it s not the HARD drive, theoretically, you could be right but before you think to change the HARD drive please use a diagnostic tool special for HDD as Drive Fitness Test:
    http://www.HitachiGST.com/support/downloads/#DFT

This tool can check your HARD drive for bad sectors.

If the HARD features of bad sectors disk, formatting will not help you because the sectors are physically damaged. With other words, the only chance is to exchange it.

But if you have already used the recovery feature of HARD Toshiba drive to reinstall Windows you can say s that no problem of software and it must be hardware related. ;)

  • I can't get my hard drive to recognize that I have a CD in the tray

I can't get my hard drive to recognize that I have a CD in the tray.  I can only open and view those that I already copied. Why?

There are a number of possibilities here.

    1. assuming you have tried several different blank CD (if you are fairly confident that the problem is not the media), it is possible that the laser "burning" the recordable CD is dead. Because this isn't the same laser that reads the CD, you can always read but not write.  If this is the case, the only solution is to buy a new CD player (not expensive).

    2. your CD drive (E :) shows when you click on my computer?  I think it does, or you did that you can open and view copies of files, you have already copied to other CD.

    3. open Device Manager (start > run > devmgmt.msc > OK)

    • Expand the category of CD-ROM/DVD-ROM readers by clicking on the + sign to the left
    • Y at - it a warning next to the entrance icon?
    • Double-click the entry for your CD player
    1. That said under the "device status".
    2. What would you say (at the bottom) under "use of the device.
    • Close the Properties window and Device Manager

    4. open my computer, right-click on the icon for your CD drive and select Properties

    • Is there a tab "recording"?
    • If there is a 'Recording' tab, click on it.  Is the box to "Enable the writing of CD on this drive" checked or unchecked?  (Do not change at this stage)

I'm not very familiar with Media Center Edition.  In the past, when you copy files to a CD, how did you do?  You just drag files to the letter of the CD-ROM drive in Windows Explorer, or did you have to open an app?  If the latter, what application you use to copy files to a CD.

  • Laptop HP 2000: hard drive error

I have upgraded to Windows 10 one a few days ago and then yesterday when I went to turn on my computer it says this.

    Hard drive error
Please run the hard drive Test in the diagnostic system
    Hard disk 3 (3F1)

I ran the test drive and that's what he said

You will need to replace the hard drive. Update to Windows 10 had nothing to do with it. After the back if you want to help find a car and its installation and reinstallation of Windows. If your Windows 10 appeared as it is activated, you can do a clean reinstall of Windows 10.

  • to get a hard drive

Hi I have a laptop compaq presario CQ50 - 228-CA. Told me to HB to get this hard drive: Hewlett - Packard (HP) 613070-001-250 GB 7.2 K RPM SATA Hard Disk Drive (HDD). This hard drive is expensive at a certain site online. I want to get a hard drive cheaper on another site with this info: 250 GB SATA 5400 RPM hard drive for Compaq Presario CQ50 - 228 CA CQ56-219WM CQ60-420US and I want to know if that hard drive work on my laptop? He mentions my model but HB make me feel that I have to enter the first hard disk that I have just mentioned. I never bought a hard drive before. I want to trasfer all data, including windows vista of the old hard drive hard drive with a USB adapter, again but I do not know what USB adapter, I'm supposed to buy? Thank you

You can buy any 2.5 inch width 9.5 mm SATA HDD thickness of and there are now some very good deals out there. I suggest that go you to newegg.com and order one (you'll like 3 days). and get also a "drive upgrade kit" which will be cloning software and the cables you need.

    My humble recommendation:

320 GB 7200 RPM drive to 65 dollars shipped:

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=9SIA2W014P4564

Kit upgrade with external caddy and also cloning software:

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16817155602

With refunds, it comes to a total of $100 and your laptop will go faster, to start.

This manual (page 10) shows how to do the installation:

    Operating manual

Repeat: You don't have to buy from HP or use a hard drive HP part number. They are generic standard of the industry.

  • Hard drive error, but passes diagnostic

I have a vostro 320 all in one computer. Yesterday he left initializing with a hard drive error, but when I run the hardware diagnostics all past. When I go into the installer the Bious does not see the hard drive. Current Bious is 1.2.0 and current is 1.4.0.

If the BIOS does not see the hard drive, no - you will need to replace the disk.

You can take a chance on the resettlement of the player (unplug the system and disconnect and reconnect the hard drive), but if so, it is not detected by the system, it is toast and needs to be replaced.

"Deleting" a file does not actually delete it marks just the space
also available to be used. There are third-party programs that can
sometimes recover deleted files. The problem is that the space used by
the file is likely to be replaced very quickly, and it makes
    the unrecoverable file.

So your chances of successfully recover this file are decent if you
Try it again immediately after the deletion of it and go quickly
downhill from there. If you have used the computer since then (for
example to write this question and read this answer), your chances may
    be very poor now.

But if the file is large enough, it's still worth a try. Stop
using the computer in question immediately, if you have not done
already. Download an undelete program (and here's one:)
    http://www3.TELUS.NET/mikebike/restoration.html but there are several
others to choose from; Do a search) on a friend's computer (do not
it on yours because that would overwrite the files you want
Undelete) and bring it to you on a CD or thumb drive to try.

If that fails, your only recourse is to bring or send the disc
a company of professional file recovery. This kind of service is very
expensive and may or may not work in your case.
