I get a message saying that I don't have the appropriate permissions to install an extension

I get this message only on a few extensions I'm trying to install.  Others install fine.  Other times I get a message saying that there was an internal error and that the extension will not be installed, even if the extension is for Dreamweaver CS4, which is what I use.  This is for extensions that are free and those that I paid for.  I am the admin on this workstation, so I don't understand why I get these messages, especially for those on the permissions. I use a Dell PC with Vista Home Premium 32 bit.

VISTA UAC security settings very probably get on your way.

To run a program as an administrator, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click on the icon that you use to run the program, and then click run as administrator.
  2. When you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the administrator password, or click continue.

  • Windows Media Player error message says that I don't have the media usage rights acquisition.

    Original title: Windows Media Player

Am not able to play music in Windows Media Player to the library after the transfer of music from another computer.  Error message says that I don't have the media usage rights acquisition.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community and we give the opportunity to help you.

    Cause of the error:

Windows Media Player uses Microsoft Digital Rights Management (DRM) to protect the rights of content owners who protect their music or video products in this manner. You must have usage rights required to play, burn, or sync protected content.

How to upgrade the DRM license?

By default, Windows Media Player will automatically attempt to acquire the rights of use in silence unless the server requires some input on your part (for example, registration or tax information). You can disable the automatic rights acquisition. In this case, you will be asked to obtain the rights for any new content that requires them. To prevent Windows Media Player from acquiring rights automatically, do the following:

    a. click on the arrow on the now playing tab, and then click Other Options.

    b. click on the Privacy tab, and clear the automatically check if protected files need to be refreshed check.

Please note that this setting affects not acquisition of rights of use of online stores.

  • Error message saying that I don't have the required authorization every time that tries to open the application

I can't open any programs. All the icons are changed (it looks like the value by default when windows does not recognize the program). When I click on the program, it has an error saying that I can't have the proper authorization. Right click and selecting run to do the same thing. Everything seems to work in safe mode, but it won't let me run System Mechanic. I'm currently logged in safe mode. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi rob251,

Remember to make changes to the computer before that happened?

Step 1 : Click right on any program icon, click Properties, click the compatibility tab, check the box run this program as an administrator and try again to run the program.

    Check if this is useful

Given that the programs work very well as expected in safe mode, the issue could be software or related materials

Step 2: Put the computer to clean and test start

Follow step 1 in the link below,

Important: n ' forget not the computer to start normal follow step 7 in the link.

  • I get a message saying that I don't have privileges to change the time system.

I use Windows XP Professional as an administrator. The message is that I have enough privileges to change the time system?

    original title: time system

As you probably understand, setting is translucent because your IT Department at work has controlled this configuration in the field (which is why I have inserted the caveat "unless the domain policy changed that").  When you exit your laptop from work to home, the domain policies remain in place.  If you do not have the administrative rights on the computer, you should always be able to change the policy by using KB266280 of my previous post... but as soon as plug you it into the network of your domain to work, the policy will return.

  • During installation I get a box pop up with key that says that I don't have the necessary permissions, but I am the Admin

    Hello
I get a pop up box that says: I don't have enough permissions to use all the features of the program that I'm going to run it. You can run this program as a different user or continue to run the program as long as the current user. So I continue and then nothing happening no messages or anything. just nothing.

Check that you are not Firefox running as administrator.

Right click on the desktop Firefox shortcut and choose "Properties".

Make sure that all items are disabled in the tab "Compatibility" in the Properties window.

    • Privilege level: "Run this program as Administrator" should not be selected
    • "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" must not be selected

  • Download Itunes on my laptop just before, it starts to install, I get a message saying that windows Explorer stops because the prevention of execution of data has stopped installation

    original title: Itunes and DEP

While downloading Itunes on my laptop right before you start to install, I get a message saying that windows Explorer stops because the prevention of execution of data has stopped installation.  Is there any solution for this?  I'd like to install itunes on my laptop.

    Hi Steve681229,

Thank you for using the Microsoft Answers forum.  Here's what worked for someone else.  Thanks Kevin

    Hi thrivenformore,

Please use the forum for Support of Vista,

You could try to add iTunes to the DEP exception list.  However, this behavior is not normal.  Go to the support forum of Apple for iTunes for Windows, search on DEP.  There should be a thread "How can I turn off DEP for iTunes?" or it Prevet planting iTunes? "which provide troubleshooting steps you might want to try before adding it to the list of exceptions."

How to add the program to the DEP exception list:

    1. Press Start, right click on computer and select Properties.
    2. in the window that appears, click Advanced (on the left panel) system settings.
    3. in the first box that says Performance, click on the settings button.
    4. in the window that opens, click the Data Execution Prevention tab at the top.
    5. There should be a box of exceptions in the middle of this window. Click the Add button and navigate to the C: drive, then Program Files, then the iTunes folder, and then choose the iTunes exe.
    6. Add the exception, and then click OK in the window of the DEP.

    Hope this helps, Kevin

  • After installation of the latest version of firefox on the homepage still says that I don't have the latest version

After installation of the latest version of firefox and I use the new icon on my desktop, it always says that I don't have the latest version. Installation will correctly

It - http://www.google.com/firefox - is the old Page to start Firefox used by the Firefox 3.6 and earlier versions of Firefox, I do not think that it is maintained by Google.

From version Firefox 4, Firefox uses a 'local' with the address Start Page of Subject: House. It looks like the old start Page, but this isn't exactly the same thing.
