I get the following message in my Inbox quite often: _ "has sent a message to you that is returned to the sender (bounced back) because it would have caused your quota of box mailbox to be overwhelmed."

I have Vista Home Premium and have received the message quota for a while. I don't have much in my Inbox, keep a good number of emails to send and save all emails in folders on the left side of the screen. Based on the fact that I have very little in my Inbox and have transferred most other e-mails in local folders, I don't understand why I'm off-quota.

When looking for ways to solve the problem, I came across something that says that the problem may have to do with local storage. I'm not sure I understand, in particular, what is meant by local storage.  I can only imagine that this means that the files that I created to store the messages.

I don't know how to solve the problem.  Thank you

The quota is exceeded, the local storage is not and is not on your computer.  It is in your mailbox on the server computer that belongs to your e-mail service provider.  You probably have been leaving messages on this server when download you them to your computer, and this mailbox is now complete.

Many e-mail service providers allow you to access your mailbox through a web mail site in your Internet browser.  Once there, you can see the messages in your mailbox and delete. Or, you can contact your provider of messaging help service.

You can set up Windows Mail to automatically delete messages from your Inbox mailbox on the server:

  1. Click on Tools > accounts .
  2. Double-click your e-mail account.
  3. Click Advanced .
  4. Clear keep a copy of messages on the server and select one or both options of withdrawal.
