I get warned the high - processor use someone at - it ideas how to solve this problem

I have a lot of space on my hard drive and Windows XP, 3g of memory.  I regularly get a protection against re using high CPU and everything stops.  I have to re-boot and sometimes even turn off and start again.  Any help would be greatly appreciated, but in plain English please.  Thanks in advance.

Norton is a Devourer of resources well known. You'd be well advised of this gap and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials or Avira Antivir (both free). Links:
