I got a message "Firefox security" that my computer was full of viruses, asking if I wanted them to correct the problem. The address was not good as Firefox. I thought it was a fake. Anyone know?

He could have said "Mozilla Security", but the address line was not Mozilla. I think it could be a new virus, so I didn't click on it. Today, it is the first time I saw it. My antivirus software is up-to-date and working.

It will be a fake, there are malicious sites that use this method to try to get people to install malware. Mozilla does not search for viruses or send messages like that.

    Hello

    It's a scam.

Microsoft does not contact you unless YOU have made prior arrangements with them to do.

There is an article in the link I'm you provide at the end of this one

    Read this Information from Microsoft:

"Avoid scams to phone for tech support.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/online-privacy/avoid-phone-scams.aspx

Don't be fooled of unsolicited calls. Don't provide personal information.

Here are some of the organizations that cyber criminals claim to come:

    • Helpdesk Windows

    • Windows repair center

    • Microsoft technical support

    • Microsoft technical support

    • Windows Support Group Technical Department

    • Microsoft Research and Development Team (team of Microsoft R & D)

Either these so-called "Microsoft" Tech companies want to sell you a worthless software, or remote access to your computer to try to steal your credit card and bank information and also achieve an identity theft on you.

We have all the errors and warnings in our Event Viewer

If you gave them remote access and you do Internet banking, contact your bank, explain, and change passwords.

If you use your online credit card, cancel and get a new one issued to you.

And the only way that willl you know that you are free to them is to backup your data and do a clean install of your operating system.

    See you soon.

Go to the Page of Adobe products.

Proceed to checkout, and then install Acrobat Pro instead of the Standard version.

  • I think I got several phony calls claiming that my computer is infected with spyware.

I think I got several phony calls claiming that my computer is infected with spyware. They said that they were connected with Windows, so I asked if they were Microsoft and they said that no Microsoft would not call me. Wouldn't be a darn good Microsoft. The guy was Indian or Pakistani and wouldn't give me a company name, no matter how many times I asked.

They said they received reports from my computer it has been infected. The last call I let them go through their process to prove to myself that my computer has been infected. They told me to go to the event viewer, logs of windows, applications and said there will be errors and warnings there.

It was proof that he was infected and that they wanted to give me their approval to scan my computer so their 'Microsoft engineers' can solve the problem with Windows tools. At this point, after 20 minutes, I denied their access to the computer and hung up that it had no proof that I was worried. One of our friends had the same call on fixing Windows sound, she had an Apple Mac, I would have liked to see their difficulty its version of Windows.

I have 3 questions for this and they are: -.

1 can. anyone if your computer is infected using the event viewer?

2 can they tell if she is infected when the computer has a firewall and is also behind a router with a firewall?

    3. I would be right in thinking that there is another form of the scam fake phone call?

    1. If possible, get the errors or warnings in the event viewer is quite common, but say you have a virus just based on that, it's simply stupid.

    2. they do what is called call cold. They call every phone # in the phone book and say "your computer is infected" even if you do not, Yes, it's a scam and yes they are stupid.

    3. Yes. The only way they would be able to tell if your computer has a virus would be if they had access to it, and if they have BEEN with microsoft, which is not, it would be a breach of privacy.

  • Contacted by rep that notifies computer was in jeopardy. Paid them and now have doubts

I was contacted by a person representing so-called Windows, which highlight the problems that my computer was advising me of - disk etc. overhead. It seems legitimate and I allowed him access to correct and update my computer. There are 3 levels of coverage for this service, I chose the lowest coverage of 6 months at a cost of £89. After reflection, I started to have doubts, I cancelled my credit card (after that the payment had been made), but I'm worried of what he did or could do while he had access to the machine? Anyone had the same experience and can offer advice?

Most of them just seems to perform activities without value as support allows you to install free software like Malwarebytes.

However, as he had access to this you should consider that it compromised.

I try and put music on my phone through the Apple music and it says something about waiting for 90 days. Anyone know what it is or how to ignore it?

Looks like you may have recently changes your Apple ID you use iTunes on your iPhone.  When you change this ID, you are locked for 90 days.  You can change to another code, but you can download past purchases or save the content on your device until the expiry of this original lock.  When you change IDs the first time it is a nice warning that appears and asks if you are sure that you'll be locked in this ID for 90 days.  There is no way around the lock, other only of waiting.  I think that this prevents you form jittering in all your Apple ID friends and just download all, but that's probably what you're going through right now.  Good luck!

  • I just got an iPhone 6 and when I plugged in my laptop, he asked if I wanted to restore my new phone. I said yes! But unfortunately chose the wrong backup restore with. Is there a way I can go back to how my phone was before?

I just got an iPhone 6 and when I plugged in my laptop, he asked if I wanted to restore my new phone. I said yes! But unfortunately chose the wrong backup restore with. Is there a way I can go back to how my phone was before?

Yes, you can as long as you understand that you will lose everything that is currently on the phone.

    (1) settings > General > reset > erase content and settings

That will make the iPhone as new.  Then, during the installation process it again once will ask you if you want to restore from an existing backup.  You can then restore the scheduled backup.

Run you the same Oracle_Home SQL and Server query as the ETL engine? (Want to use the same libraries and host and network such as ETL).

The large data sets in ETL can be assembled with network optimization. Some of it is on the physical network layer (for example having a dedicated private network or a switched network between the ETL and the DB server), some of them can be found on the configuration settings (arraysize, configuring TCP settings to the OS layer, etc.) or libraries (for example JDBC libraries). Some of them may simply be patches to fix bugs!

  • When I click on my icon of firefox homepage says "the address is not a valid URL. The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded. How can I fix it?

When I downloaded Mozilla Firefox and clicked on the Firefox icon I get this message on the Firefox homepage "the address is not valid.

The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded. "I can always access the internet but what do I do to get rid of this message. The home page does not display the icon of firefox.

You can check the setting of the homepage:

    • Tools > Options > general > startup: Homepage

Firefox supports several home pages separated by ' |' symbol (pipe).

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe
  • I think that I have been scammed by the company supposed to work for windows saying that my computer was about to crash

A company called vap technology called me last night on my phone at home and said to my computer was about to crash. they were Indian speaking people and said they were working for microsoft support; as I am not a laptop user profficent of long date, I couldn't tell if they were or not. How to get back money from $149, I paid them to fix the problems and how to uninstall the programs they put on my laptop; also what can I use to tell if it's a microsoft technology? Help!

    It is a scam. See:

    http://www.microsoft.com/security/online-privacy/avoid-phone-scams.aspx .

If they have access to your PC, they can install any number of malicious programs. My recommendation is to do a clean reinstall of Windows - it's the only way to be sure that your system is clean.

If you have them paid by credit card, tell your card provider immediately what has happenend.

All the data on your computer (passwords, credit card numbers, numbers of account documents, etc.) may have been compromised (they may not know now). According to the companies concerned (for example your bank) what happened.

Use another PC to change passwords.

    Consider telling your local police.
