Here is an article on how to repair a trash corrupted in Vista: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/131294-recycle-bin-corrupted-cannot-delete-file-folder.html.

It restarts if you left or do a right-click on the icon or both?  Here are a few ways to empty it by using two methods:

    1. On the desktop, right-click on the Recycle Bin.
    2. Then click the Empty trash to empty its contents.
    3. You will be asked if you are sure that before it permanently deletes the files.
    4. If you're absolutely sure, then click Yes to clear the contents of the Recycle Bin.
    5. Alternatively, you can double-click the Recycle Bin to open and examine its contents.
    6. And then on the file menu, click empty the Recycle Bin.
    7. After confirmation, Windows Vista will be empty all files from the Recycle Bin.

Go to control panel / customization / Desktop Icons and remove the trash, click OK and close.  Then go back and add the trash.  See if the new basket has the same problem.

Here is a program that you download that adds a command to empty the trash to the command line if all that you need to do is type of the command in the box search now and it will happen. http://itsvista.com/2007/01/itsvista-tip-23-empty-vistas-recycle-bin-from-the-command-line/.

    I hope this helps.

Click on the Recycle Bin to open it, and then drag the item to the trash, or select it and choose file > put back.

After review of any PDF in preview, and then move it to the trash, the file may not be emptied from the Recycle Bin without having to restart the computer.

Anyway do preview release the file without having to restart the computer?

Select the file and use the Command + Option + Deletekeyboard shortcut.  You will get this window:

Click Delete Deletes the file.  The file can be anywhere on the disk hard to make it work.  It doesn't have to be in the trash.

  • lack to locate some files in the Recycle Bin

I recently looked in the trash yesterday to restore some picture files and wound up in the trash. Once I've added a few new files I wanted to delete later in the trash and reopened, the image files, I tried to restore from before disappeared? What should I do to find these exact files?

    Hi Caleb,

When you delete any of these files or folders from your hard drive, Windows puts in the Recycle Bin and the Recycle Bin icon goes from empty to full.  Folders and deleted files remain there until you select Empty trash or delete these files in the breast.

There is a limit on the trash that you can check / together by right clicking on the Recycle Bin icon on the desktop and select Properties. If fills up, Windows automatically cleans the files to make enough space for the files and folders more recently deleted.

If the above is the case, you will not be able to restore your photos. You will need to seek third-party freeware to restore deleted files.

    I hope this helps.

  • Files in the Recycle Bin accidentally restored and this event cannot be canceled.

Last night I was cleaning unwanted files from my PC. because every thing in my PC is sorted into different folders and drives. It take me almost an hour to delete all the unwanted files. I goto basket to check if I had deleted any important file accidentally. After I selected all files to the trash to remove it from there but I accidentally pressed onrestore. I was shocked by what I did I tried to cancel, but I couldn't find that. :(

Maybe this should not happen. I want to if you can add this functionality to Cancel accidentally restored files.

    Hello

The trash is actually intended to be a 'Cancel' for accidentally deleted items. I'm not aware of any way to undo a restore operation, except in order to find and delete again.

When you want to delete all of the trash (deleted everything) you can simply right click on an empty spot and select Empty trash from the menu. There is no need to select all files.

    I hope this helps.

Thank you for using Windows 7
