I had an erratic cursor.

I had an erratic cursor.  My battery has 265 cycles and 'normal '.  I tried your ideas and I thank very you much.  Right now everything is OK.  I didn't acting OK for a week yet and not even for a day.

My sister sent me a spam, after that she complained to me that his computer Microsoft OS has been reinstalled.  She only told me she thinks that something came in an email that I sent a few years ago!  Of course, that sounds nuts to me.  But my filters spam because of its using its address, its spam e-mail, passed.  I also received emails with his name and a strange address (not his own.)

So, the problem started after that.

Yet, I worry that it could be the battery.  My question is if the system says 'normal' what it means that the battery is any swelling?

I used a USB mouse when the cursor has gone nuts.

In addition, the level of humidity in the House was very high due to replace a hose where water has permeated interior walls, and more, wet weather and open windows, the water in the basement.  Dehumidifier would be turned off and not drain.

So, I hope that the problems are the following: 1 high, humidity 2 keep the Macbook Pro 2012 procession connected permanently, but for one night surrendered the battery has been used up to almost empty this last week, 3 new OS could help.

That you and I can say, after two days of fiddling, I even downloaded Beta Sierra and ATT McAfee.  My lost, just for this computer, Airport utility has lost access to my Time machine backups.  But, I'm back and used immediately before the OS is loaded.

Of course, it's funny to be part blamed for a computer problem of an older sister, then to have one on a computer that is a problem that is practically free!  My Macbook is amazing, and I hope that it continues to be.

The price tag of $200 on a new battery is nuts.  I was happy to discover that my display problem was so common as to be a free repair.  This was a few years back.  I did get a repair free, although two things told to me in time, free and non-free.  A battery with 265 cycles sounds and swelling sounds like a foul, but if all goes well, it is also good that the information system says it is.

Please advise me on the issue of whether the information system will be accurate as to a battery which is a failure in this way!

Here is the article from Apple support for trackpad issues:

https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT203171

What about a battery in full expansion, the ONLY way you can check who is opening the MBP and Visual inspection of the battery.  The State says 'normal' is irrelevant.  Should it be expanded, it must be released immediately and replaced before more expansion damages the MBP.

Ciao.

  • Satellite L450D: erratic cursor while typing

    Hi first post

I recently took delivery of Sat L450, as part of access to the House for our daughter aged 11.

My problem is that while typing on or off line, the cursor is erratic.
He can jump in any other line and if you don't watch it constantly, it screws up what you typed.

I just searched for drivers and noticed there are two types of drivers of topuchpad, so not sure whether this would solve the problem or that one. (all by typing this message the cursor jumped to previous rows 5 times)

    Hello

Please disable the touchpad, while typing using the FN + F9 key combination.
I had the same problem a few years and not the opinion of t that I touched the surface of touchpad accidentally while typing!

I disabled the touchpad and it's solution

  • Synaptics touchpad - erratic cursor behavior

On my Compaq Presario CQ56 (Win7 64 bit) sometimes, the cursor jumps around erratically, usually to the top of the screen that I try to move the cursor down. An external mouse, it works very well. I have the latest version of the driver (15.1.6.64), and I fiddled with the settings of control without result Panel. Sometimes it works fine and I tried to correlate the time that it is wrong with everything I do when this happens (for example if it happens after the laptop has been for a long time) but no luck so far (and in particular, it may happen now, I open the lid or after 10 hours of use). It makes no difference how hard or soft as I press, whose fingers are used, if the rest of my hand is far...

I also discovered something interesting. In the device settings page, the edge Motion option is disabled. However, under region Motion edge there is a diagram that shows where your finger on the touchpad. Under normal circumstances, the position of the finger is correctly reported, and the mouse cursor also moves that I have spend my finger. When the cursor is wrong, touch the top of the touch pad shows that he thinks that my finger is down. Left and right movements are traced with some degree of accuracy. Because I move my finger down, it suddenly jumps to show that my finger is on the top. Put it down, and yet once it pops up. Meanwhile the mouse hardly moves at all, which seems to indicate that the driver don't is not the operating system to generate messages of mouse movement.

    Any ideas?

In desperation I completely uninstalled the Synaptics driver, and I now have a touchpad that follows actually just my finger instead of developing its own ideas to dominate the world. It was a bit of a struggle to convince Windows 7 (which has also its own agenda to dominate the world) that I wanted to remove the driver completely, but now I'm using the mouse Microsoft PS - 2 vanilla driver has nothing fancy features which I never use and which seem only to lead to complications, Synaptics bug code and a lot of grief for their unwitting victims.

Before I uninstalled the Synaptics driver, I continued my comments and noticed that the touchpad seems to work reliably after a restart, until I right click on it. I could imagine that, and I'm certainly not trying to confirm leaving a team of Synaptics software geniuses near my machine again for some time. Still, someone else could benefit from observation. You never know.

    Serve and enjoy, Synaptics.

  • erratic cursor and then freeze it

How can I get my cursor to STOP jumping around on the screen and then freeze it?

It is on a desktop or laptop?... What kind of mouse is used?

Can you confirm if the problem is occurring in a particular program?

If you use a mouse running on battery, then please replace the batteries to see if that solves the problem.

Also check the underside of the batttery for signs of debris (lint/dust) which could interfere with the infrared light... (kick across the box to remove dust)

If you are using a laptop, that this problem can occur by accidentally touching the 'touchpad' area while typing?

If you use a laptop go to the Control Panel on theStart menu and select mouse ... make changes to the sensitivity etc to see if that helps... you can use the icon for the "touchpad" found in the notification area to the bottom of the clock (lower right corner of the screen) often software called Synaptics is used... double-click on the icon to access the options and settings where some adjustments might help.

  • CS6 Installer stuck again. The last time it happened I had an erratic CS6 for 8 months.

I got trapped in a kind of nightmare that I am trying to solve as succinctly as possible.

I install a downloaded version of CS6 Adobe Master Collection from the Adobe server (for which I have a license) on my brand new Macbook Pro with OS X 10.8.2 retina (new installation, no content on this machine yet). So far, the only other app I have installed on this machine is Firefox.

The CS6 Master Collection Installer is stuck at 91%, install Acrobat X Pro.

Eight months ago this happened to me. It was stuck on installing Adobe CS6 and he got stuck on Acrobat X Pro on Mountain Lion, another machine of course.

I gave up the installer and he run. It worked and everything seemed fine, but for the next eight months, all my Adobe apps would work erratically in a myriad of different ways.

In fact, I thought it was because CS6 was still buggy and discouraged fellow designers and programmers do not to upgrade CS5 until a more stable than the versions were available.

Finally, some of these same programmers and designers upgraded and told me that they do not have the problem.

This time, I got a new machine, and I decided that I have would be hit with a new installation. CS6 would be one of the first things that I load on this machine.

TO MY HORROR, IT HAPPENED AGAIN.

This is the link I downloaded after two times.

    http://www.Adobe.com/cfusion/TDRC/index.cfm?product=master_collection

    What gives Adobe?

How could it happen independently on two machines with no common denominator out of:

    -The operating system

-L' Adobe ID of the user part

    -My CS6 serial number

    -Link / used Installer

It's terrible. I am so disappointed in Adobe. This has considerably harmed my productivity.

    Still stuck on 91%.

  • Since El CApitan, I have episodes when you sign in that the cursor becomes crazy and enters all kinds of letters.

When connecting have had episodes where the password was caught by the repeated letters entered automatically, requires the computer to be closed and restarted. last night the computer began to make incredible noises as if a radio was playing. What is going on?

There are several possible causes of this behavior. Please take each of the following steps that you have not already tried until it is resolved. Some may not apply in your case.

    1. follow the instructions provided in this support article, so this one, as appropriate. A damaged or defective power adapter could be the cause, even if it's the right kind.

2 simultaneously press the four corners of the trackpad and release. If there is no effect, it is likely to be temporary, and in this case the device must be repaired or replaced.

    3. disconnect or turn off each Bluetooth or USB pointing device, one at a time, testing as you go. You may be able to identify one that is defective. By a pointing device "," I mean a device that moves the cursor, trackpad, mouse, trackball, or tablets. A regular keyboard isn't a pointing device. If you have a desktop without a built-in trackpad design, at least an external pointing device must be active at all times.

    4. If your model has an infrared receiver for use with an Apple Remote, turn off .

    5. start in safe mode and test, preferably without launching any third-party application. If you do not have the problem in safe mode, but it comes back when you restart as usual, stop here and post your results. Do the same if you cannot start in safe mode. If there is no difference in safe mode, continue to the next step.

6 reset the system management controller.

    7. If you use a mouse or a trackpad, Bluetooth, investigate potential interference sources, including 3 USB devices.

    8. a swollen in a laptop battery can encroach on the trackpad underneath and cause erratic behavior. If you have trouble clicking the trackpad, it is probably the reason. The battery must be replaced without delay.

    9. a faulty device or a damaged cable can cause the built-in trackpad to a MacBook to behave erratically. If you use the wired devices, disconnect them one at the time and the test.

    10. There is also a report of movement erratic cursor caused by an external display that was plugged in but not turned on.

    11. If you use transfer, disable it in the general pane of system preferences.

    12. If the mirroring of airtime to a TV is turned on, turn it off.

    13. If none of the above apply, or if you have another reason to believe that your computer is remotely controlled, pull it out of the network by turning off Wi - Fi (or your Wi - Fi access point), disconnect a Bluetooth network connection, then unplug the Ethernet cable or a USB modem, whichever is applicable. If the movement of the cursor stops at the same time, you should suspect an intrusion.
