I had to reinstall Windows XP Pro after a hard disk crash. Sent product key Microsoft form with the Windows disk is invalid.
Some time ago I bought a computer with Windows XP pre-installed. I have not received a CD with it. At one point, during an update Windows online, I learned that the copy of Windows was not authentic, and the place I bought it from was out of business. I then bought Windows XP Pro Microsoft online and went through the update of product with the Windows product key update tool and ran OK from there.
Well, my HDD recently crashed, and I started to install the Windows XP Pro purchased CD on a new hard drive. The installation was asked to enter the 25-digit product key, I found that the unique product key sent with the CD has been a key 20 digits in this format; Product key: SKU:B7P - 00005 KEY01:xxxxx - xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-CD2. (The x are just for the format).
What do need me do to be able to install my real purchased copy of Windows XP Pro?
The numbers you enter are not the product key. Contact Ms. online where you bought the CD or try some of the links below:

Error msg "the serial number you entered is valid, but cannot find a product calling on this computer" appears. Impossible to reinstall CS5.5 on Macbook pro after the hard drive crashed and was changed.
Hello
Thank you for your response. I've finally managed to connect with a support staff through the online chat portal & advises him to download CS3 web premium. Tried to find it, but this option is not available in scrolling to the bottom of the box. Ultimately, the staff had to help me to unlock the CS5.5 update manually from its end. He indicated that, in my case, the situation could not be resolved through this method, and I'd still have to contact support via the portal chat staff to help unlock my CS5.5 If this problem occur again should I need to reinstall it on a new computer laptop.

I bought a CD OEM Windows 7 a few years when Microsoft was running a promotion for students to go to College. It was directly from Microsoft, if I remember. It was just a single CD, just a 32 bit disc and had the CD key. Installed and everything worked well. I have clean same Win7 installed again on the same machine a bit down the line.
But I'm upgrading my computer parts and to move to an SSD and use my old HD that has Win7 installed as my main document reader. I also want to use 64 bit (which takes care of my computer). I had misplaced my original disc, but was able to borrow a friends to install Win7 64 bit.The problem that I am running is that, after I installed Win7 and entered my CD he said that it was not valid. Is the CD key, I got only valid for 32-bit? Which really sucks if it is haha. Or is there a problem with the clean installation using a key on a DVD retail OEM? Like I didn't have this problem when I clean installed since the OEM CD, I had until I lost it.Thanks for any info!-AnthonyI bought a CD OEM Windows 7 a few years when Microsoft was running a promotion for students to go to College. It wasn't an OEM license, this is a retail upgrade license.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.
So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

can't activate windows xp with the product key that came with the computer
I got a computer of 510N HP Pavilion from a friend who was absolutely riddled with viruses and malware of all kinds. Every thing I did to clarify apparently nowhere got done or made it worse. At the end of the day, the computer would only begin to restart, stop after the start of the HP logo screen, then start to boot, etc and more. All I could do was to install the hard drive in another computer and format, from scratch. Now, I'm trying to install the system to XP op for the disc that came with the computer.
the problem: the code the product key on the case went wrong with the disc. After searching for solutions, I found a code on the disk by searching the files it contains, tried and it worked! Problem is when I try to turn it on, it says it's an "unauthorized product key." I tried to enter that code on the box and who says he is "invalid". The Cd look authentic; are for distribution with new pc HP and Compaq. After a further inspection drives are XP Professional SP2, while if it is XP Home Edition. What gives? Activation does not anyway. It is any use that will not make me buy a new set of disks? Please let me know if more info or detail is necessary.
PS - only a single piece of hardware has been changed - the cdrom initially provided with the computer was bad, so I went out to perform the installation.
When you perform a restore to the factory on some HPs condition you have two choices: 1) a restoration which keeps your data and programs (in a repair installation); (2) a full destructive restore which brings back the machine to the State, it's when you first opened the box. In your case, you have already wiped the drive, so the question is moot. I would call the HP technical support. Normally when you use an OEM recovery media (HP, Dell, etc.) a product key is never required during the restore. If you have used the media to restore HP shipped with your system and are always asked for a key and one on the sticker machine is not accepted, then something is certainly. Hello
I had to reinstall Windows XP again and now him "you have become a victim of software piracy" has appeared. I know for sure my code OEM is legal, because I enabled Windows XP on this machine before several times. So I decided to activate the key using msoobe.exe and via the internet.Apparently, internet activation is not available (a message code 24579). Of course, I tried the phone activation. Called on the answering machine, type the digits of the ID of the instalation. It don't did me not have any code to write in the fields ABCDEFG. Only that a mistake occurred. Then I clicked on "Change product key" once asked me to do. Type in the product key. But it was rejected. I answered honestly, machine that I have not any new instalation ID. They said I need to contact the seller, because my key is not genuine... obviously, there is no way that he can help me.What should I do now?Thank you in advance.original title: cannot activate the XP by phoneThe key used here is a Volume that was never issued by Microsoft - license key was generated by the KeyGen tool a hacker.
If it is key that you tried to activate, so it is no surprise it is rejected.
If however, you have a valid key for Win XP Pro, you can change the it to this one, using the product key update tool, as Carey said. - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/help/genuine/product-key

http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/84488-activate-Vista-phone.html
Please note this step #9If the activation service informs you that she has failed and cannot help with activation, then STAY ON THE LINE and your call will be transferred to an operator of activation which will help you to activate your copy of Vista. The operator will give you all the numbers to ID of Confirmation if they accept that your copy of Vista is legitimate.
NOTE: The operator just explain your situation and what you did to require activation. (EX: hardware upgrade, installed Vista on a new computer after uninstalling it from the old one, etc...) -
After you have reinstalled my Window 7 Professional is not activate with the product key, I received with my package & which I used for a long time. I tried to activate using automated phone system, but could not do. What is the solution. I know that this product key I used only on my current desktop & in past I had not faced any problem on reappattage. This time, I had deleted all the parks & reformatted all readers of my Win7 teacher reappattage. This can be a cause of failure of activation?

I had to reinstall windows. I have several drives in my computer and I copied the entire C: drive to another drive in the PC. I thought when I reinstalled Thunderbird, I could just point to profile located on the other drive... email accounts but it doesn't work.
I had multiple accounts configured in Thunderbird - accounts about 6, but just one profile. I had several records created for organizing email locally. So, I guess that he should be a both local and roaming profile with the same name? I checked my mail server web interface and there are currently approximately 105 emails on this subject. I know there are at least 500 total emails into the inboxes of Thunderbird. I try to restore those old e-mails, as well as local folders - but am not having any luck.
Anyway, with all the attempts that I did to get all the emails of my return, I think that Thunderbird has created new folders and is doing really complicated now. I don't know how to sort this out. I don't know the name of the profile that I have used before, and when I search my computer on the name of the profile, it is 22 000 + items. I'm still not able to get them all restored in Thunderbird.
Another strange thing is: in the search results for the name of the profile, the items are displayed in the results, and it has an icon Thunderbird next to them and says it's a Document of Thunderbird... but when I double-click on one of them, it will not open in Thunderbird. Nothing happens when I double-click on them. Could this be a problem/conflict version of Thunderbird? I thought my old Thunderbird was updated.
I don't know where to start to give you a hint how to help. I'm sorry.
Any ideas?

- What happens when you insert a DVD in the DVD player?
- Did you the latest changes on the computer?
- Do you have any third-party DVD burning software installed on the computer?
- What is the number and the model of the DVD player?
Refer to the article below and run the Fixit tool available, check if it helps.
