  In Windows 7, go to control panel > everything in Control Panel > network and sharing Center. Click on "change the advanced sharing settings. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null).

  D. Si one or more of the computers on your network are XP Pro or Media Center, turn off Simple file sharing (Folder Options > view tab).

  It should not, but you will need to download the right software to use. Adobe Acrobat Reader is what you are currently using. This is why you don't have the tools you are used to.
