I have a dell inspiron 1545 with Windows vista, I am able to connect, but as soon as I did the screen turns white.
It's like you need to refresh the page if your wifi turn off whilest using the internet (hope that explains) however this Internet page has no task bar so I'm not able to close, I am also unable to see the start menu.
I tried Ctrl, Alt and DEL, and then click Task Manager, but the Task Manager does not open upward and the gray screen: s
I tried System Recovery Options / system restore to try a restore to a previous point, but it says "no restore points were created.
I have no idea what to try next, I don't want to try the reset by default because I'll lose all my data I recorded on there: s
Hope someone can help on this (fingers crossed)

I have a DELL Inspiron 6400 running Windows Vista. The backlight turns off.
I have a DELL Inspiron 6400 running Windows Vista. The backlight turns off when the charger is plugged after about 10 to 15 minutes. If I shine a torch on the screen, I see about the display is always. If I select change user from the menu start or stop / restart the machine, the backlight turns on and will last for another 10 to 15 minutes. I tried in safe mode and the same thing happens. Can someone help me with this problem?
It could be the inverter Board or the backlight itself on the way to the outside. Whatever it is, it is definitely a hardware problem and it will take a good repairman to fix. You can contact Dell and see what they would charge to fix this, just to see if it would be more cost-effective to buy a new laptop or have it repaired. Because it is 5 years since it is manufacturing, you can be better to save your pennies for a new :-(

Turn off the tap to click on Dell Inspiron 1525 with Windows Vista
Can someone tell me how to disable "tap to click" on the touchpad of my laptop?
I have a Dell Inspiron 1525, running Windows Vista. It's the standard touchpad I mind, it has not been upgraded.
Other forums have suggested to go to the control panel > hardware and sound > mouse, but once I'm there, I only "buttons," "Pointers," "Pointer Options" and "hardware". There is no option to disable "Tap to click" referred to one of them.
I've updated all the drivers - Windows tells me I have the latest version, if this doesn't fix the problem.
My hands are too big to type without hitting the touchpad! So frustrating. I accidentally moved my slider three times during the composition of this post. Someone help me please! That's four times now.
I thought about it!
Under computer > C: > drivers > entry > R176423, I ran DPInst. He installed the Dell Touchpad option in my taskbar to bottom left. After the reboot, I was able to open a more in-depth version of my touchpad, where I could uncheck "Tap to click". _ Yes!
Thanks for all your help, man. I really appreciate it. It's really a positive manifestation of the human condition when the volunteers their expertise selflessly to help others. Keep up the good work, and I hope that this thread will stay up to help someone else in the future.

I tried to restore my Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop to the factory setting. I pressed F8 then selected repair and then Dell Factory Image Restore. Used to format hard drive. He formatted the hard drive and then he restored the system. Suddenly, a small window pops up without any details, but saying "error". I restarted the laptop, it entered into Startup Repair mode. But even once showed error "operating system version is incompatible with startup repair". I don't have my windows CD/DVD. Although the windows sticker is still on the laptop. Please advise me how to install the system on the laptop so I can use the same. Please note that I am in Gurgaon (India).
Thank youHello
Because the computer is located in a no start situation and you don't have the installation disc, it is best to contact the manufacturer for assistance.

I bought this computer in 2009 and have no other problems with it, only that it slows due to the memory... Please somone tell me what memory module, I could buy to fix this
There are 2 slots in this laptop, if I could buy a 4 g memory module (which would give me 6), I think that I would be good, but I don't know which one to buy that would fit. Thanks for listening
Adele
Your motherboard (and mine) will not work with 4 x 2 and that he wouldn't do it a faster, or better. Is this not what dell has said, and I confirmed. ???

XP SP3 is already compatible WPA2.
Have you checked that utility without the seller wire initial is not too active?
The card connects to open source Wireless and WPA - PSK protected?

So went into a ghost of Dell image when the resolution was good on Win7, recovered files in windows/System32, which has old drivers.
