I have a folder in Thunderbird that is on my local computer. I misspelled the folder like TomTOm.

I would rename this folder as TomTom using rename in Thunderbird.

The program does not allow me to do what saying me that I already have a folder with that name. But I did not.

Surely the ASCII for 'o' and 'o' are different.

Someone knows a workaround solution.

Thank you.

Change to something different, like a TomTom1, then back to the desired format. Yes, indeed, o and O have separate ascii codes, but Windows chooses to ignore these differences in the paths. Basically, when you create a folder in Thunderbird, you create a file in your file system, and its name is subject to constraints of operating system everywhere on paths. Asterisks and oblique bars are completely avoided.

It is also possible (but less), with an account IMAP-related, additional restrictions on access roads can be applied at the server level.
