  I don't have any icon indicating the settings of the device on the control panel mouse, in order to turn the tap and click on my pad. It was turned off and then all of a sudden everything become active. I don't want to tap on the keyboard. Tried everything I could understand, to change to scroll.   You may want to install/reinstall the Mouse/touchpad software for your laptop - check the Web site of the manufacturer of the laptop computer for download.

  I have a problem connecting to a Cisco E100 router to my computer. My count (office) does not have a wireless. I have DSL from. Cisco tells me to plug a router using Ethernet cable to connect. I don't have an Ethernet connection on my computer. At present I have USB connect the computer to the Westell modem.  Can anyone help? I hope this is enough information. Basically what I'm hoping to do is to install the WiFi so I can use a tablet now and maybe a laptop this last on.

  On the routers only house you can use USB connections are those provided by some ISPs.  An Ethernet connection between the router and the computer is far more preferred.

  Your router a Cisco E1000 or is it really E100 (I thought that Cisco makes a model with this designation not)?

  It is quite surprising that you don't have an Ethernet connection that is built into your computer.  What is the complete model number (or, preferably, the Number of Service Dell)?

  Open the Device Manager (start > run > devmgmt.msc > OK).  Expand the "Network card" category by clicking on the + next to him.  What devices are listed in this category.

  If you don't really have an Ethernet or an adapter wireless built into your computer, you can add one, using a PCI internal (if you have a desktop/Tower computer) or external (PC card for laptops) or USB to laptops or desktop/towers.

  You can try to boot from the CD and perform a disk check, and check if that helps. You will need to change the boot order in the BIOS (Basic Input/output System) and check if that helps.

• Problem connecting HP3055a with HP Compaq PC Tower

  I recently bought him scan printer above. Initially, using my Dell D510 computer laptop (Windows 7), installed the software, connected to my Netgear router and printed successfully.

  I have an old Tower of HP compaq (Windows 7) in my friends room and have tried in vain to connect to the printer even without success (after installation of the software). The only difference I see is that the PC has not built in wireless and I use a Netgear WG111T Adapter v2 connected USB to talk to my router. The PC connects fine to the router via this.

  During the implementation, once I typed the IP address and try to connect, the implementation of message - "cannot find printer ' appears with the usual basic suggestions to try."

  After completing all 7 pages of suggestions, I am still no wiser as to why my PC HP Compaq will not see the printer but the Dell laptop will be no problem.

  During the software install the last option to toolbar HP could not install correctly on both the laptop and PC, but the message said that this make any difference to the operation.

  The printer prints fine when hard cable for HP compaq PC.

  Any suggestions please?

  I understand your concerns, but you indicated that the printer is connected and working on another laptop computer that tells the printer works. The problem you are having is that another computer is unable to communicate with the printer. Before you try to use a wireless adapter, I would you try the following steps below to help isolate a problem with the operating system, resulting in a part of the problem.

  Windows 7 and Windows Vista allows you to have multiple users share the same computer under their own individual accounts. This allows each user to have their own location on the computer where they can store their personal documents, photos, videos, saved games and other personal data. It also allows the owner of the computer assign some accounts the ability to perform administrative tasks such as installing software, while limiting the capabilities of the other user.

  This tutorial will guide you in creating a new account in Windows 7 and Windows Vista.

  1. Click the Start button. It's the small round button () in the lower left corner of your screen that has a Windows flag on it.
  2. Click on the Control Panel menu option.
  3. When Control Panel opens, you will see a screen similar to Figure 1 below.

• Firefox started running slow about 3 Mbit/s on the same machine that is running to about 6 Mbps, reinstalled firefox twice, but no improvement.

  I have a mini-tower with windows OS computer using the Firefox browser, it started to run slowly, 3Mbps, while on the same machine using for example the download speed is about 6 Mbps, which is what I used to get with Firefox. Oddly enough, I have another machine a net book with Linux OS and Firefox browser and who always gets a good speed to about 6 Mbps, which seems to point to the windows version of Firefox being the problem. I tried twice to reinstall Firefox, but there is no improvement, recently, there has been a couple of updates for Firefox and would like to know is possible to go back to an older version to see if that solves the problem.

  I was so sure that I could be that the problem was with the combination of f-secure, windows vista and Firefox. The O.S. I can not change, Firefox I won't change if f-secure has drawn the short straw. Fortunately, I don't have a long contract with f-secure, I so uninstalled and moved, replacement works very well, too short life.

• Trash no longer works after the RAID

  I have an old 'Tower' MacPro and I just put two internal disks in RAID 1 using the terminal in El Capitan. Whenever I put something in the trash, it gets deleted immediately (with a warning from the Finder). How can I fix?

  Is your AirPort Extreme in shape as a 'tour', or you have one of the old versions "flat or square"?

  If you have the version "tower", a standard power cord "of eight" of any place of e-procurement would work very well. Radio Shack stores usually have in stock... but they probably won't have white.  Take the airport along to test fit in the store.

  If you have the old version of flat or square, you will need to purchase food and the power cord as a unit. Better go online for this.

  I am wanting to upgrade to Windows 10 but didn't because I have Windows Media Center PC. Site Windows said I'd lose this because Windows 10 does not have that. He said that my Media Center will be deleted.  He then said I have to go buy a DVD player. It does not since. I already have the player.   You can certainly 'back' to Windows 7 - some people and in your case, the drivers for your computer are still available for the change is possible without pain.

  • The 'file history' backup in Windows 8 is a new very cool feature you can easily configure to save backups of your data on an external drive.  For example, you might have a mini-tower, a Pocket Player or a USB drive connected to your computer that you can use for backups.  You can use a NAS (Network Attached Storage) system, if you have one in your office (home).

  If space on your external drive is at a premium, consider reducing the number of versions you want to keep.  Under Advanced settings, just to the right side, under where you decide how long to keep your backups, click "Clean up versions" > remove anything, you can live without.
